Okinawa Rush, a fast-paced brawler that was initially funded on Kickstarter, is gearing up for a Switch eShop release on 28th October (priced at $19.99USD). As you can see in the trailer it offers retro-styled mayhem, and there's a demo out now on the eShop if you want to give it a whirl.
It's going for Amiga-styled visuals, which is a little different to what a lot of pixel-based games target, and certainly looks like it could be fun. There's support for local co-op and three different playable fighters.
Okinawa Rush is about intense, skillful gameplay. It is also intuitive enough for someone completely new to games to be able to pick up and immediately get into the action.
Take on the role of the martial arts master Hiro, Meilin, or Shin as they face off in a desperate fight for their lives against the Black Mantis clan.
DOUBLE THE MAYHEM: Bring a friend and battle against ninjas, demons, and more in the 2-player local co-op mode of this action-adventure platformer set in a mystical, fantasy version of Okinawa.
The fast, fluid combat system, courtesy of the custom engine, brings with it many moves, combos, juggles, and an intuitive parrying system - easy to learn, hard to master.
Is this on your radar for late October?

This demo surprised me, I wasn't super into the goofy proportions of the character but the action actually feels pretty great.
I really like the look of this, very Amiga-esque as they say, just need one of the bosses to be Zool and we're laughing.
Looks like it could be fun. Reminds me a bit of Ninja Spirits on the turbo-grafx.
Reminds me of an old 8 bit / 16 bit game called First Samurai
Reminds me a lot of First Samurai on the snes/amiga, and I can say that from what I’ve played in the demo I can safely say it doesn’t disappoint! Super excited for when this comes out!
For a second, I thought the guys in the Youtube thumbnail were Ryu and Heihachi (Heihachi's been watching too much DBZ)
This actually looks really fun!
I'll pass as I didn't enjoy the demo. Lots of better games coming out.
This game plays amazingly well. Super fun to distribute a vast amount of kicks and punches.
