In late April Nintendo confirmed its next big event in Mario Kart Tour, with powerhouses Bowser and Donkey Kong going head-to-head. That event has now gone live in the game, and will run until 18th/19th May (depending on your timezone).
It'll introduce a couple of extra playable characters and karts; by the looks of it Dry Bowser isn't impressed with Funky Kong's posing.
As was the case with previous events like this you have to pick a side at the start and collect tokens in races to contribute to the overall team. Of course we all know that Team Bowser will be triumphant, but DK will no doubt put up a fight.
Check out the event trailer below.
Will you be jumping into this event in Mario Kart Tour?

Team Bowser for the win!
Actually caved in and downloaded this past week. Shockingly, it does have some merit and is worth a download just to see what ideas the series may potentially adopt in the future. The course designs aren’t that thrilling but the challenges are definitely an idea that deserves another chance.
For the wary, the gatcha mechanics are relatively light and honestly are so ridiculously priced they’re not tempting anyway.
Kinda upset about this tour. :/
Team bowser. Bwaaaaah
Why cant we get this sort of thing in Mario Kart 8? Regular events, new characters, tracks, etc.
Games like Fortnite do things like that on home platforms.
I've been waiting for Bowser and Donkey Kong In Mario Kart Tour
@RobotReptile I would love a set of mini games as a challenge mode in the next version
@bigheadwillie There's no new tracks or characters in this tour
I voted for Donkey Kong because I am big fan. Even thought I knew that Bowser would win.
And for my surprise, Team Kong is winning!
Hell yeah! =D
@bigheadwillie Mario kart 8 is 7 years old.
Mario Kart Tour is the new Mario Kart.
Get over it already.
@bigheadwillie I definitely think they should have been a part of MK8DX. MK Wii had regular challenges. Not sure why they were taken out for 8.
Team Kong all the way!
@DK-Fan This aged well
