We know the GameCube didn't get the love it deserved when released, and these days, many players going back to Nintendo's older library use their Nintendo Wii instead. Criticised for being "gimmicky" due to its shape, we'd argue the GameCube's appearance is nothing short of high art. So, if we may offer a suggestion, why not display it as such?
Offering stands which hold up our beloved GameCubes via the corners, these 3D-printed designs come from Thingiverse user TheJeffChen. Having previously worked on a Famicon front expansion for your controllers and PSX fan adapter, they've recently posted new designs for our favourite cube-shaped system.
Creating two unique designs, the first is a "Logo Dunk" based around the GameCube intro screen, whilst the second is a Legend of Zelda based "Triforce Stand". Admitting they're a bit precarious, Jeff doesn't recommend using wired controllers if you intend to actually play whilst using them.
You can download his designs for free via these listings, but you'll need access to a 3D printer. If you do decide to print them off and like his work, you can also leave Jeff a tip.
If you walked into a friend's home and saw their GameCube displayed like this, what would you think? Let us know down below.

Cool for display alright. Gba player in mine though might tip it
It's certainly nice, but looks far too impractical for general use.
Now all you need to do is put the Gamecube inside of a steel-framed glass cube.
I was always impressed with the system's ability operate perfectly at any angle. ^^
The GameCube was when console design peaked, right after the N64 no less. Since then, we're yet to see true art again
@Bobb I disagree, the Wii was the peak.
i luv gamcoob
Disagree, the Wii U instilled game dissymmetry, which sadly didn't ended well
On the other hand the Switch also added dissymmetry, but to the design, and oh gosh! It worked well!
So the Switch is the design peak!
The enemies of the GameCube are mine enemies, and shall suffer the retribution of the Lord.
I feel uncertain about operating an optical disk drive at the angles shown, @Pod...
@RupeeClock I love the aesthetics of your image, but somehow I feel like the GC is imprisoned here, like Hyrule Castle in Twilight Princess...
I prefer it the normal way. It’s definately a work of art. I love the gamecube most of all Nintendo consoles. It was the last good third party console from nintendo. It had almost all big games from different big publishers.
@BigLarry Just joking. I wouldn't know what makes a good design, but I see many people bashing the GCN and N64, and I actually like them
I'd love to display my 'Cubes this way, but, alas, my cats would love it more, so it's traditional placement for me.
I would put the console on one of it's back feet.
Love the GCN, but this display does nothing for me.
@Roibeard64 There's a GBA Player in the picture.
@COVIDberry
You can put your uncertainties to rest. :3
I've had the Gamecube run discs at every odd angle imaginable, as well as directly upside down.
When inserted, the Gamecube discs snap firmly in place, and don't budge a millimeter unless the spring-loaded center button is deliberately pressed.
I love the switch but one thing I will miss forever is the Nintendo Home console designs. I loved every single one of them they look so beautiful. The switch looks kind of ... meh just in my dock lol
The GameCube was always a work of art. 😍
I would think you would wear the laser motor out quicker by making it work uphill to reach the read position.
