Dragon Quest Rivals, a free-to-play game which is currently available on Switch, PC and mobile devices in Japan, is set to receive a pretty major update next month.
Square Enix has confirmed that August will bring with it a brand new single-player mode as well as a name change. Going forward, the app will be called Dragon Quest Rivals Ace.
You can see the announcement in the new trailer above; Gematsu reports that the new single-player mode is called 'Solo Battle Adventure' and that it will coincide with the release of new card pack, 'Heroes of Triumphal Return'.
Thankfully, the app's name change won't affect players' progression or game data, so you'll be able to carry on where you left off when the rebranding takes place. If you're wondering how you can get your hands on games from the Japanese Switch eShop, feel free to follow the steps in our guide on the topic.
In other Dragon Quest news, a number of pre-orders for the upcoming Hero amiibo are starting to appear.

I've not heard of this before, but it doesn't sound like it's coming out internationally right now.
Available in Japan and not here....
Ah well ....
Love Dragon Quest but no interest in mobile games.
Squenix loves rebranding their mobile games like it's something new when it's more like a season 2. I mostly get confused only
@Apportal Or just make Japanese account, like me
What kinda game is this?
I wish it was coming here. It looks like it could be good,
@The-Chosen-one
Some type of card game I think. That is why is will likely never release outside of Japan.
