Heads up, Sword Art Online fans! Bandai Namco has revealed that Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet's upcoming winter update is scheduled to launch in early February for all platforms.
The update is set to add a new wave of costumes and weapons such as the Alice and Eugeo Integrity Knight costumes (which you can see in the first image below), Ronye Arabel and Tiese Shtolienen transformation costumes, a Chudelkin outfit and 'Royal Guard Gold' and 'GE-6 Disaster Gold' weapons.
The announcement came during the Sword Art Online New Year 2020 Special live stream which premiered just a couple of hours ago. It was also announced that a free demo for the game on Switch will be arriving around the same time as the update. If you're yet to give this one a go but are intrigued, this would be the ideal opportunity.

Anyone here playing this game? What do you think about it?
Yeah...who doesn't want to dress their character like that Chudelkin creep...
Oh, that show with the protag thar dates his cousin? Get that out of my face.
@PBandSmelly I guess you can date her in the game, but as far as I know he is still dating Asuna in the anime? His cousin had/has a crush on him, but its onesided. Unless I'm wrong.
@Kalmaro It’s ok
@Anri02 Thanks, l don't remember hearing much when it came out. I don't like SAO but the games I figured might be better.
@Kalmaro Closest comparison I can think of is Freedom Wars, not sure if you’ve ever played that?
@Anri02 I've heard 𝗼𝗳 it. I think reviews were positive, can't remember
@tobibra yup
In light novels and anime, both canon he and Asuna are a pair/couple and looking at their past that is not going to change.
She is his only love interest and the other way around, some of the girls do have a crush of him mostly Alice ( not going to spoil that as I read the LNs and those are futher than the anime) and his cousin has a crush on him but in a lesser way.
Games are non canon so they their own thing.
Enough SAO trivia for today, Fatal Bullet is okay but Hollow Realization is better and more classic SAO gameplay.
@PBandSmelly Yeah I never understood that lol
We still need a good SAO game, but this one is pretty good. The combat is fun, but the story needs work. I would only buy this game at a discount.
@Anri02 Tell me more, I adored Freedom Wars, the only game ever that I platinumed, still to this day. Is it the story, combat? I loved the verticality of the combat. Big Brother aspect of the story was cool, but the idea of abductions was a bit weird, I just ran with it, though, as it made the gameplay more interesting.
I really enjoyed both SAO games on Switch and really hope the new Alicization one coming to PS4, comes to Switch eventually.
I enjoyed how in Fatal Bullet you got to use your own character for the most part - made more sense to have that honestly really nice character creator. In Hollow Realization I only changed the armor because you were playing as Kirito and it didn't make sense to mess with it to me.
But I only play the single play adventure anyway. I imagine people enjoy that stuff online in co-op and vs.
That is nice. But is the Switch getting SAO: Alicization Lycoris or not?
I played 5 minutes of this hoping for some nostalgia trip from the N64 days of jet force gemini, it is a good 3rd person shooter, however I ended up just buying JFG for 30 bucks on amazon.
I re-download this later and continue where I left off.
@finalstan It's made by the same devs, so the combat shares some similarities
Wait, what? That flavour-of-the-month brand with bland, generic designs is still around?
@Northwind Thanks for taking the time to respond. I think I'll sleep on the game for a while, I'm not in any rush just yet.
Tge images looked interesting and I figured the games may be a bit better than the anime.
