If you're looking for a fast fix on the Switch, one game worth checking out is Redout. It's a high-intensity low-gravity futuristic racing experience that is similar but different to games like FAST RMX, Wipeout and even the F-Zero series.
In the latest news, Redout's publisher Nicalis has announced a physical edition will be released on 27th March this year for US$39.99. Fans who preorder Redout from the Nicalis online store will also get a chance to score one of the first 1,000 copies of the game that come with a mini CD soundtrack.

The 34BigThings-developed title includes 28 customisable vehicles, 11 event types (with over 100 in total), and 60 courses across 12 futuristic locations. You can find out more this game in our Nintendo Life review.
Will you be adding this racer to your collection?

I thought this game was mostly broken on switch? Was it patched?
@Abes3 I'm wondering the same thing.
Are they desperate or trying some funny game now? I might go for it though.
If it wasn’t for Smash, not many would remember F-Zero by now....
It’s been soooo long!
On-topic: I already have Fast RMX. Is this one better in your opinion?
Game was horrible, not even close to playable when compare to Fast RMX. I rather that one get a physical version instead of Redout. Also it's too late Nicalis, should had release this physically for Switch a long time ago.
Nicalis is having a sale at the moment (EU). Cave story at 66% off is very tempting.
Didn't this already come pout as a physical???
@Abes3 It’s definetely not ‘broken’, but it’s also no where near as good as it should be. Other than the fact it was due out around the release of the Switch and the devs gave almost no communication on its status... when it finally has been released, the performance is fine but graphically it varies from very good to very bad at times during a race, and it seems to change at random.
Not to mention that in general, the controls are no where near as good as Wipeout, which is essentially what you would assume it was trying to emulate. Fast RMX is not great, but has ‘some great parts’ such as the graphics, but RMX is still way better than this in my opinion.
I was greatly looking forward to it for literally years and tried to get info from the devs but Purely based on their response (or lack of) I will not be picking up the physical - they already have my money for the very average digital version.
I don't know why but whenever I have a mini CD, I have to make ninja noises and throw them across the room like a ninja star.
@YANDMAN Yes but not on Switch, both this game and Yooka-Laylee were both release physically and digitally same day on other platforms while the Switch version got delay then it got digitally release only and eventually later on will get physical release. Limited Run had to provide the Yooka-Laylee physical edition and now Nicalis is making this one physical. The reason why it's pointless to get this physical now is cause the game is already cheaper on the other platforms, you could get this same game physically with better quality and performance on the other two platforms for a fraction of the price Nicalis is asking here for the awful Switch port.
Looks like a Wipeout clone, but I am not giving my money to Nicalis after the way they have treated their devs
@Xylnox Hope you didn't own a gamecube then?
Nope, Nicalis aren’t getting any more of my money.
ORRIBLE game... even worst on switch... confusing graphics, low resolution, unplayable... this is the only game on switch that I deleted from console.
@FTL yeah I get all that, which is why devs do patches and updates. Has this been updated to look as Pretty as Fast RMX (which is damn silky)
@Friendly lol. I did but I only had like two mini cd's. One was some kind of free coca cola promo mini cd with a couple songs and I can't remember the other one. I would never throw a gamecube disc as I spent money on them. Heh
The game plays ok but takes a massive visual hit on the Switch, it is nowhere near as good as Fast RMX..... Visuals really are poor.
Oh man, i want FZero, but more than only Racing.
I want a full action adventure game with Captain falcon and his crew, making use of his powers etc. Saving the day, and do racing as part of the story and together with the oldskool vs racing.
@retro_player_22 Ahh o.k. I bought it physical on PS4. i just thought that it eventually got a previous switch port. I'm not fussed but kinda need it for my Nicalis collection.
