Bandai Namco and Level-5 have released a launch trailer for Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, which arrives on the Nintendo Switch this Friday.
For anyone who hasn't played this highly-praised RPG before, this trailer is perhaps the best one yet – explaining the backstory of the timeless tale. The game uses lovely animation, which was storyboarded by the legendary Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away) and features music composed by the renowned Joe Hisaishi.
When this title lands on the Switch this week, it'll be arriving alongside The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and Untitled Goose Game. If you plan on purchasing it digitally, the game will require 5.7GB of free space. Link's Awakening isn't far off, requiring 5.8GB of storage.
If you want a better idea of what the Switch version of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is like, be sure to check out our Nintendo Life review.
Is this the game you'll be playing later this week, or do you plan to revisit Link's Game Boy adventure? Leave a comment below.

Love this game! Can't wait to play it on the go!
Can’t wait to get my hands on it. I was in grad school when the game was released originally; I meant to play it since but never had the opportunity. But now here it is, a few more days.
This was another game I wanted but just didn't feel like buying another console for. Glad we're finally getting it.
... Spare a demo, Level 5? Like how DQ XI Switch is being done?
Its a cool game. Extremely fun to explore.
I'd like to give this game a try. The screenshots didn't make it look like anything special, but then I watched the trailer on the eshop & it looks promising. Might be a while before I can download it, though (lack of funds available).
I'll give this one an eventual try. Unfortunately it'll have to wait awhile.
Stoked! After the six hour quest to wake the wind fish I will sink into this 50+ hour gem!!!
Fantastic game. One of my favorite jRPG on PS3. Art is just amazing.
Never played this as I didn't have a ps3. Excited to try it. Between this, the goose game, The Somnium files and Digimon Cyber Sleuth next month I don't know how I'll keep up.
I didn’t get a PS3 till last year and was planning to buy the original version for it, but I hadn’t yet. Now I can get the remaster, so good things come to those who wait.
Man...hope I don’t start bawling in front of my kid.....
@KIRO Uh oh, is it a depressing game? I've yet to play it, but it looked light-hearted. Not sure I'm in the mood for a major downer of a game!
@NEStalgia oh, I don’t know about depressing! But Ghibli stuff can have it’s tear jerk moments and I’m a big sap
@KIRO The opening aria in Ponyo that's a montage of Van Gogh style paintings of water and opera makes me weep every time I see it... Ghibli is brutal for me, lol...

@Franz You will absolutely love it. I play a lot of RPGs and this game was easily my favorite from the PS3 generation. It's epic, charming, and full of content.
@JohnE Good to hear. Looking forward to sinking my teeth into it.
