We hope you really dig the idea of construction, because Construction Simulator 2 US - Console Edition is building up to a release on Switch. OK, that's all the puns safely out of our system.
"Due to popular demand", the game's Console Edition - which is currently available on PS4 and Xbox One - will now be playable on the go thanks to this new Switch release. Just like the original Construction Simulator 2 game which was available on smartphones and tablets, the Switch version will give players access to more than 40 originally licensed and faithfully recreated construction vehicles and machines by world-renowned manufacturers and brands.
You can play across handheld and TV modes, enjoying 60 "challenging" jobs which are made up of excavation missions, the delivery of construction materials, the steering of gigantic tower cranes, the pouring of concrete, the asphalting or refurbishment of roads, and more in the fictional US state of Westside Plains.
It's scheduled to launch "within the next couple of months", with more info set to be shared soon. If you happen to be attending Gamescom, you can go hands-on with the title at the astragon Entertainment booth in Hall 6.1, B-054.
Does this look like it might be right up your street? Let us know if you'll be adding the game to your Switch wishlist with a comment below.

Oh yes my dream has finally come true to be a construction worker
I thought that PS2 beat-em-up with the construction vehicles was coming to Switch. (Cannot for the life of me remember what it's called lol)
This is awesome. I wonder how accurate the simulation is? Hopefully you can walk in front of cars while dispensing cones in first person, then give confusing, misleading, wrong, or flat out dangerously inaccurate hand/flag signals before standing in a circle over a hole in the road with 5 other NPCs while eating a sandwich and watching one guy in the hole working. It would be nice if there were motion controls for pointing purposefully at random objects while eating the sandwich. It can use the IR camera like in 1-2-Switch for the eating part. Hopefully it also includes cutting around the pothole and paving around it because that hole "isn't part of the job description." There could be penalty points for accidentally paving it.
I don't know if they're still doing more, but I might hold off for the "Our utility job is definitely not responsible for the giant sinkhole - it's a coincidence it hoped up right over our work site, where's my sandwich?" DLC.
I like the Jurassic Park logo on the side of the building in the trailer
@GrailUK I'll take a leap of faith and guess it would be BCV: Battle Construction Vehicles.
Had to watch the video a second time because I dozed off the first.
@Fragarach HA! Yes thank you
@NEStalgia But remember u get 2 "pour concrete", jeez that sounds really "challenging", just guessing they'll b no levels set in Africa cos down here they don't perform construction work..."no budget" for it...potholes like black holes...
