SNK 40th Anniversary Collection comes out this month, and we've now been shown the second patch of free games that will come as part of the December 11th update - which also includes a patch.
The second selection of games includes Bermuda Triangle, Paddle Mania, Ozma Wars (SNK's first ever game), Beast Busters, Search and Rescue and World Wars. You can see all of these games in action in the trailer at the top of the page.
SNK 40th Anniversary Collection hits Nintendo Switch on November 13th. Spare change not required.

Looking forward to this and have it on pre-order. Great collection for a fair price.
Can't wait until this finally in stores.
Don't know any of them, but it's kinda the point. Tomorrow I'll preorder what actually is the most exciting release for me this year.
Really liking this collection of games here.
I have very fond memories of Beast Busters in the arcades. I was very amused that, after just a level or two, they decide to scarper instead. "Let's get out of here!".
I have the collector's edition on pre-order.
This is a gamer historian's paradise, and I plan to dive in. I may only know of or played a handful from this collection, but I am not missing it under any circumstance.
It baffles me why they bother to make a physical addition without all of the games on it and then tell the customer before release. Why not wait to make the carts until they actually finished the project?
looking forward to this, I havent got many games physically but do love a good retro compilaton
Cannot wait to dive into these... it's rare a compilation contains so many games I have never played.
Omg I sank alot of money In Beast Busters I. The Arcade. Since there isnt a light gun, touch screen will work perfectly!
was really hoping for the NES Baseball Stars to be included.......knowing it isn't means I will probably pass on this......still unsure, but that is the game I really wanted
BEAST BUSTERS! So happy that has made it into the collection.
Beast Busters!! Holy heck! I'll finally get to finish it after all these years! Not a fan of that full screen crosshair though, I hope it's an option.
Also, didn't they say originally say 10 post-launch games? Kudos for that extra game, whichever it is.
@Koke That's the problem when they call it a "40th anniversary" collection and they actually want to stick to a 40th year release date, I guess. We could have gotten any number of main games in the core collection, but it all depended on what could be done given how much time was available to them (DigitalEclipse) and how smoothly the PCB acquisition/ROM dump process would go.
Sega Genesis Collection
SNK 40th Collection
Atari Flashback 150 game version
Sega Ages
Johnny Turbo Data East Games
ACA Neo Geo/Arcade Archives
Zero Div/Psikyo shooters
Capcom Beat em up Collection
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary
Namco Museum
What a retro powerhouse the Switch is!!!!!!
Are there not like 40 games or something in the cart, like the Mini? Beast Busters is a buy though, though I'm more fond of the sequel... would be pretty rad if they had some of their 3D stuff on it.
Some great ones to round it out.
Disappointed that early SNK history is underrepresented here. Can't fault them for a few early titles that are extremely rare and not available to download, but they could've did so much more. In particular, I'd of loved to have seen Satan of Saturn.
Their excuse about limited time is a bit weak when one realizes how many of their early games ran on common hardware. For instance with my top wish, it's running on the exact same hardware as Sasuke vs. Commander, Vanquard, and Fantasy.
Why only include three instead of all four (Five if we include Pioneer Balloon), when the heavy lifting is already done which was emulating the M6502 cpu and the SN76477 sound chip?
Assuming a competent emulator, getting Satan of Saturn and Pioneer Balloon up and running should be virtually plug and play.
@Atariboy gotta leave some for vol 2.
@Lord I doubt we'll get a sequel. There are simply no big names left on the arcade side (Although there's still Baseball Stars for the NES), so I suspect it will be up to Hamster if a small number of these make it out on this generation of hardware (They also have a SNK pre-Neo Geo licensing arrangement and just released Alpha Mission as an Arcade Archives download).
Ignoring a couple of SNK's earliest arcade games that aren't accessible in rom format and have perhaps the final extant survivors being held by an overzealous collector, this is basically the list of what's left, per the timeline in SNK 40th Anniversary Collection (Was one title I couldn't read on a YouTube stream and the list continued into 1990 but the Digital Eclipse guy didn't scroll to the end).
-Safari Rally (1979)
-The Monkey/Monkey Friend (1980)
-Atom Smasher (1980)
-Satan of Saturn (1981)

-Sky Adventure (1989)
-The Next Space (1989)
-Dexterity (1990)
Some good games, but no arcade classics to headline a collection with, I'm afraid. Could be a nice paid DLC pack out of these though, but we've never seen that with a classic compilation.
But then we again, we've never seen post-release "free" DLC, either...
@Atariboy would you mind posting a list of all the games included? I'm having trouble finding one anywhere unless there are only 13 games on the cart??

The 8 games here that are included in both arcade and NES form make for a list that in actuality is 32 games. Also note that the 13 games you're talking about are all that's on the cartridge out of the case. The remaining 11 arcade games will come in two free DLC packs later this year, with five in pack 1 and six in pack 2.
I look forward to having it in my hands. I think the post-launch DLC is kind of sloppy, but I want to think this is due to emulation unforeseen problems (they already said some of the games had to be rescued from boards because the source code got lost). I'll buy it anyway, but if this wasn't the problem (and it's only my theory, so it might not be the problem) I'll keep thinking it's sloppy. They had all the time, it was announced in April and one would think they didn't start working on it just then.
Also, they know how to make ads. I love them.
