With a new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate comes with it a raft of new amiibo. Nintendo's pulled no punches here either, with a physical toy version of every single new fighter in the latest version of Smash.
That includes epic new fighters in the form of Ridley from Metroid, Wolf from Star Fox and King K. Rool from Donkey Kong. That's just a few of the whopping 12 new fighters that have amiibo on the way.
Now that those amiibo have started to appear for pre-order on a bunch of sites, we thought we'd put together this guide to help you figure out where to spend your hard-earned cash.
So if you're looking to grab one of the many upcoming new amiibo, look no further than this guide. Even if you don't end up grabbing one or a few, it's still a nice way to browse through the selection on offer.

Ridley amiibo
Ridley is the leader of the Space Pirates in the Metroid series and Samus’s long-standing rival in battle. He looks like a pterosaur but has high intelligence and a brutal nature.
Ridley utilizes wings for a full range of flight and attacks with fireballs from his mouth and whips of his tail. He also looks great in plastic.

Wolf amiibo
Wolf used to fight in Andross's army, tangling with Star Fox in battle after battle. After Andross's exile, he went his own way and formed a mercenary team called Star Wolf.
He and his Eternal rival, Fox, have even fought on the same side from time to time...but inevitably, they always meet again as enemies.

Young Link amiibo
Young Link is a character in the Legend of Zelda series, though only named Young Link in the Super Smash Bros. series and Hyrule Warriors. The character is Link as a young child, in case that wasn't obvious.

Piranha Plant amiibo
A Piranha Plant is an enemy in the Mario series. The enemy is a large plant with a round head and a mouthful of teeth that will pop out of a pipe, usually. This one is a bit of a shock inclusion to the Smash line-up!

King K. Rool amiibo
King K. Rool is the malevolent leader of the Kremling Krew known to be mad, bossy, power-hungry tyrant, thief, irritated and megalomaniac. He repeatedly orders his right-hand Klump or others minions to steal Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong's Banana Hoard, kidnapping Kong Family members and get powerful objects for his goals.

Inkling Girl amiibo
Inklings hail from the city of Inkopolis in the Splatoon series. They crave team-based competition and love to customize their gear before participating in the hottest sport in town, Turf War! Their hobbies include making messes, rocking the latest fashions, dancing, and spoiling the nefarious plans of their evil octopus archrivals, the Octarians! For realsies!

Pichu amiibo
A Tiny Mouse Pokémon. Because its electric cheek pouches are still small, it cannot store electricity yet. Pichu has been known to flaunt its courage by touching tails with others and setting off sparks. It is easier for Pichu to build up electricity when the humidity is lower.

Ken amiibo
The fleet-footed Ken Masters of Street Fighter is joining the ever-expanding Super Smash Bros. Ultimate cast as an echo fighter.

Ice Climbers amiibo
The Ice Climbers, Popo and Nana, a boy dressed in a blue Inuit parka and a girl dressed in a pink Inuit parka respectively, are the stars of the NES game Ice Climber. These two have always been pioneers and have scaled many icy mountains in their time. In their glory days they pursued a condor who, peculiarly, had possession of cucumbers, eggplants and various other vegetables.

Daisy amiibo
Princess Daisy is the princess Mario rescued in the Game Boy game Super Mario Land. She is the princess of Sarasaland.
Unlike Princess Peach and despite her sweetness and beauty, Daisy has a strongly implied tomboyish personality, although she still wears dresses and crowns as the princess she is.

Isabelle amiibo
Isabelle is a character from the Animal Crossing series. She acts as the secretary for your Town in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. She is very clumsy but works very hard.
Similarly to the Villager, Isabelle use various items from Animal Crossing to damage her enemies like the fishing rod, pots, buckets of water, stop signs, Gyroids, etc...

Octoling Triple Pack amiibo
The protagonist of the Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion DLC is a young Octarian Octoling, known as Agent 8. Octolings seem to have a more serious nature than the carefree Inklings we're accustomed to.
They're naturally good with their hands and adept at using tools and machinery, making them quite formidable in battle. Like Inklings, they have the ability to transform, but into octopuses rather than squids.
The Octoling Amiibo Triple Pack Includes: Octoling Boy, Octopus, Octling Girl.

Some might even say that they're affiliate inklings.
We know where to buy amiibo. This isn't a guide, it's an ad.
@TheGhostWhoWalks agreed unless its announced some are exclusive.
A late ad. A lot of these are sold out. Been sold out for a while too
Will they make a new link amiibo for the BOTW version?
Adtastic! The scalpers have probably already begun their hoarding journey.
When did these go from like $12 to $16? I wanted one when they were $12, but I never got one due to the price. Definitely passing at $16.
@justin233 I was wondering the same thing. At first I thought maybe it was just for Ridley since he's a little bigger, but it looks like they're raising the price across the board...
I own literally every single amiibo figure but I don't know why. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for Simon and Richter Belmont figures, though. Man, those would be awesome!
Waiting for the NA release first. Already got my first 4 preorder already.
Although not Smash related, I can't wait for that Shovel Knight 3-pack. I've had mine on pre-order since day one!
It's funny they forgot all about Dark Samus.
Isabelle, Piranha Plant, and Inkling will go nicely with my Luigi amiibo.
First of all, my connection on this site is not private for some reason, which I had this before when clicking on something else here.
Second, I probably should wait on buying all of them either until they go on sale, or the hype/buyers slows down.
Third, why are some of these not Best Buy/GameStop exclusive and only in the UK? False advertising I presume?
Sure could use a third Isabelle amiibo for my collection
Bought Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival for $4.98 during the TRU bankruptcy. Will have been worth it if the Isabella amiibo works. Don't see why it shouldn't, but Nintnedo has been weird before. I think I have almost all of the AC amiibo from there, about $2 each, hopefully they'll work in some future AC game.
@rjejr I found an Isabelle and Tom Nook for $4 each at GameStop during the summer in one of those clearance piles. I gave Isabelle to my friend's daughter because she loves her in Mario Kart. Friend will have a nice surprise if it works in Ultimate, I suppose.
I've got my Ness amiibo, so I think I'm good for awhile.
No Dark Samus? :<
@TheGhostWhoWalks As someone who collects amiibo, getting notifications of when and where they are available for preorder is very useful. Thanks to posts like this I was able to secure all the ones that are available for preorder. Just saying.
Man, when even Square Enix allows them to make a Cloud amiibo — in two variations, in fact — before Konami allows Snake or either Belmont to get one... What a world we live in.
@justin233 I think it started with the BotW champion Amiibos, those were the first I remember costing more. The quality has been improving as well, the level of detail in the Marina and Daruk amiibos is incredible IMO.
Um, I only count 11 new fighter amiibo here, plus the 3 Octolings. And no sign of the Belmonts, Incineroar, Dark Samus, Chrom or Snake yet.
Wonder if we will get a Pokémon Trainer one, or even 2 for Squirtle and Ivysaur.
Also yeah, they should do new moulds of some of the redesigned originals, like BOTW Link and LBW Zelda (not that they need more amiibo).
Still no sign of Snake amiibo.
Thank you; now I have King K. Rool, Ice Climbers, and Piranha Plant on pre-order from Best Buy. I've had Octolings, Inkling Girl, and Ridley (and the Treasure Trove) coming from Amazon for a while; and I have Diablo III Goblin & Wolf coming from GameStop. I also have MegaMan 11 amiibo coming from eBay and Soltair of Astora coming from Playasia, both still waiting since they sold out immediately and I missed their releases in NA.
Still waiting on the NA pre-order openings for Young Link, Pichu, Ken, and Isabelle.
And I'm sure we'll eventually get remodels of Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf, alongside the other new & returning characters - Simon, Richter, Dark Samus, and Incineroar, and Solid Snake & Pokémon Trainer (male or female or both?) and/or Squirtle & Ivysaur to go with Charizard.
Still wish we'd get alt-amiibo for Alph, female Villager, female Robin, male Wii Fit Trainer, female Mii Brawler, female Mii Swordfighter, male Mii Gunner, and each of the Koopalings. But I've sort of resigned to the idea that those are never going to happen. Especially when we have alts for Bayo, Cloud, Corrin, Mr. G&W, and R.O.B.…
Worst thing about all this is.... NO [removed] SIMON OR RICHTER BELMONT AMIIBOS, why Nintendo why?
Please mind your language - Octane
Oh yeah! Best Buy! Nearly forgot - thanks! I missed out on Piranha Plant and K. Rool through Amazon (how Ice Climbers didn't sell out also, I don't understand).
I've got the Wolf, Inkling and Ridley on preorder as well as the Shovel Knight three pack. I've not seen the others up for preorder yet I really like the box the Diablo amiibo comes in I would love it if Nintendo would start boxing all the amiibo like the Diablo one . I have got all the amiibo up to this point except for seven I still need to collect, I have never been much of a collector untill Nintendo released their amiibos I have been a lifelong fan of the big N and I just can't seem to help myself when it comes to the amiibo .
Ordered me a Ridley Amiibo, one because i like it and 2 because I don't think there is much chance there will not be some amiibo support on prime 4 next year.
I already have a Daisy amiibo. I recall it came out next to the Boo amiibo that I have but doesn't seem to glow in the dark like Nintendo said it would.
@SimplyCinnamon53 : I really hope not. There are plenty of BotW Link amiibo from the BotW collection for those who want one in his trademark tunic.
Nice. I was able to secure preorders for the six figures coming out in December and February. Just a heads-up, for those who shop Amazon: they’ve got preorders available for K. Rool and the Ice Climbers, as well.
I only care about King K. Rool and Ice Climbers. Kudos to me.
@KingMike my boo amiibo does glow in the dark just put it underneath a lamp for a while.
I hope these make it to Mexico. Not all retailers have all of them, not even Amazon Mexico or Amazon USA.
Got my Piranha Plant pre-ordered from GAME, and Ridley from Nintendo Store.
Would rather get them from Amazon, but no pre-order option or not even on the site.
Not available in Europe yet. At least the more recently announced like Piranha Plant and Ken.
@JacobBanes I call the bacon strips, though rayman would be awesome in smash tbh. Sadly, it would be a practically a miracle to even get a new ray man game at this point due to that rabbids infestation let alone getting him in smash.
I pre-ordered the Ridley one on saturday when I fully paid off my pre-order for smash.
@Silly_G That's like saying we shouldn't have gotten a Twilight Princess Link amiibo because we already had his Smash 4 amiibo.
Or like saying we shouldn't have 2 Mario, or 2 Luigi, or 2 Peach, or 2 Bowser amiibo.
We can and should have amiibo representing the current standard attire for characters in Smash with a Smash base. We shouldn't have to use a Zelda series amiibo to cosplay as Champion's Tunic Smash Link just because the current Link Smash amiibo is wearing the Hero's Clothes.
@marandahir : I'm just fed up with all of the Link amiibo. I've just counted TEN of them, plus there is Young Link on the way.
There are plenty of other Smash characters that have not been adequately represented via amiibo, such as opposite sex variations of certain characters, the Koopalings, Alph, etc.
I would rather have them than a 12th Link.
@Silly_G does it really matter a 12th link. If one doesn't want it then no purchase is needed. Lest remember the Scalpers would be more than happy to take your cash at a later date.
I’ve already got everyone available to preorder in the US preordered! I’ve had the Shovel Knight 3-pack on preorder for almost a year now, haha. I’m glad Nintendo’s still in the amiibo business!
@Silly_G
As I said above, if Nintendo was being fair, they'd release the Koopalings & Alph and Female Robin, and Male Wii Fit Trainer and Female Villager, etc… I want those too. But in the sense of Smash, Link ≠ Toon Link ≠ Young Link – and while Tunic of the Wilds Link can relatively be represented by the previous Smash Link, we still need a Champion's Tunic Link with a smash base as well.
Not all amiibo are Smash amiibo, even if they're cross-compatible.
Wish they did something a bit more creative with the Isabelle amiibo. She looks good, but not too much different from the other 2 of her amiibo. Should've done a more unique pose or whatnot
I'll grab the potted plant.
Why is Wolf Amiibo so impossible to get??
@Bizzyb your late to the game here...that was one of the first upcoming Amiibo that sold like wildfire. I was able to get two of them for my patience.
@marandahir "Not all amiibo are Smash amiibo, even if they're cross-compatible."
That's the problem everyone is expecting Nintendo reproduce all the past Amiibos including Zelda at the MSRP but that isn't going to happen. And all indications doesn't say they will-it's looks more towards the older SSB Amiibos of the past are the likely candidates to be back in inventory only.
Not sure if anyone is still following this article, but Amazon Japan has all of the new amiibo available for preorder. If they'll ship to your address and you're willing to pay slightly more for shipping, you can get whatever ones you want for their normal prices.
