During the Nintendo 64 era, Diddy Kong Racing was a game many owners of the system cherished. Diddy Kong himself was known as being the face of the release, sporting his trademark red cap and singlet, and competing against a number of his friends from Rare’s games library. With the chances of a revival incredibly unlikely at this stage, it doesn’t look like Diddy Kong will be tearing up the track again anytime soon.
At least we can rest easy knowing his lookalike wearing a top hat is having fun in another universe. To ease the pain, Wobbly Tooth has announced Toy Stunt Bike: Tiptop’s Trials will arrive on the Switch eShop in Japan on 23rd August. We’re not sure who Tiptop is - perhaps a distant relative of TipTup the turtle who also starred in Diddy Kong Racing back in the day. The yellow and blue colours associated with the bike and rider are also reminiscent of a particular bear.

Overlooking this, Toy Stunt Bike is similar to the Trials series, requiring the player to overcome a series of obstacles on a bike. The original game was released on the 3DS in 2014 and featured a human rider.
Take a look at the game’s trailer above and tell us in the comments if you’re keen for some dirt bike action on the Switch.

This hurts to look at.
I'm offended are you saying all monkeys look alike?
"News: Diddy Kong..." thats where you stop right there. Stop getting our hopes up for clicks.
Sigh
@boop22 To be fair, you can’t fault NL for folks not reading a complete headline
If this has a turtle and/or bear, I’ll be waiting for an article about a C&D letter. Or maybe this monkey is there because of...circus animals?
Dang. Desperate for clicks? Cartoon monkey looks like another cartoon monkey a little. Let's click bait to make people think it's a rip off.its not, just slow news and "journalists" gotta get hits to stay relevant
@boop22 Exactly how high could your hopes have gotten before reading the very next word?
@roadrunner343 idk man it just feel kinda cheap to put "diddy kong" as the first 2 words of your article that has NOTHING to do with diddy kong
When it comes down to it, Diddy Kong is just a sort of monkey and you could argue any monkey in a game is possibly made to resemble him.
I’m just here to say no
Still waiting for a more realistic racing game on Switch.
Third party support has improved with the Switch, but admittedly it still has a ways to go. Oh well, let's hope V Rally is a good one.
Looks fun, if only it support joycons with HD rumble.
If any other games on Switch games didn't say "Wii Shovelware," then this'll probably get your attention.
Looks like an iPhone game, and not a great one.
I for one am relieved that TipTop cleared the toilet bowl....
I remember playing the normal Toy bike on my ipod, it was pants then and to be honest still looks awful.
Looks nothing like Diddy. A character doesn't look like Diddy automatically just because it's a monkey ya know.
That monkey looks like a cheap Diddy knock-off.
Wobbly Tooth, huh? Nice cloning of RedLynx' Trials gameplay and Nintendo/Rare's Diddy Kong characters. What an uninspired studio.
The real thing, Trials Rising, is coming soon anyway. This monkey game here could be good enough to warm up.
I think it looks terrible. It's both a disgrace to both the Trials Series and to Diddy Kong Racing.
If I'm going for a cartoony version of Trials, I'll stick with Joe Danger
I played the original version 'Toy Stunt Bike' on the 3DS, it was surprisingly fun for the price (<5 dollars i think) and i ended up 100%ing that game within a couple days. This looks like a solid improvement in visuals and stability although very similar in content.
I recommend giving it a go if you havnt played the 3DS one, especially if it's as cheap as chips.
