During the Nintendo 64 era, Diddy Kong Racing was a game many owners of the system cherished. Diddy Kong himself was known as being the face of the release, sporting his trademark red cap and singlet, and competing against a number of his friends from Rare’s games library. With the chances of a revival incredibly unlikely at this stage, it doesn’t look like Diddy Kong will be tearing up the track again anytime soon.

At least we can rest easy knowing his lookalike wearing a top hat is having fun in another universe. To ease the pain, Wobbly Tooth has announced Toy Stunt Bike: Tiptop’s Trials will arrive on the Switch eShop in Japan on 23rd August. We’re not sure who Tiptop is - perhaps a distant relative of TipTup the turtle who also starred in Diddy Kong Racing back in the day. The yellow and blue colours associated with the bike and rider are also reminiscent of a particular bear.

Overlooking this, Toy Stunt Bike is similar to the Trials series, requiring the player to overcome a series of obstacles on a bike. The original game was released on the 3DS in 2014 and featured a human rider.

Take a look at the game’s trailer above and tell us in the comments if you’re keen for some dirt bike action on the Switch.
