GameMill Entertainment has today announced Nickelodeon Kart Racers, an all-new game that will be available on Switch later this year.
Nickelodeon Kart Racers is a multi-player console racing game that features iconic Nickelodeon animated characters from the likes of SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rugrats, Hey Arnold! and more, as they race on 24 different Slime-themed tracks to become the champion of children's TV. Tracks include Bikini Bottom, NYC sewers, Tommy Pickle’s house, Arnold’s school and more.
The game allows players to compete as their favourite characters in four-player local multiplayer or a single-player battle mode to win cups and Kart upgrades. Mark Meadows, Partner of GameMill Entertainment has said the following about the release:
"We are thrilled to be partnering with Nickelodeon to bring all of these amazing characters into one fun, competitive video game for fans of all ages to enjoy. Nickelodeon has created characters and stories that are loved around the world and we specialise in transforming treasured characters and stories into playable entertainment for the die-hard fans and casual gamers alike."
The game is currently scheduled to arrive on Switch on 23rd October with a recommended retail price of $39.99.

Could be good. I'll stick to MK8D and Team Sonic Racing, though.
Wasn't expecting this kind of direction for Mario Kart 9.
Oh, Gosh....
It's really happen !
Classic Nickelodeon in HD !
And they look much better than 20 years ago.
I’m intrigued
I like that they’re using 2011 Turtles instead of the new one.
Omg. More 90s nostalgia. Yes, please.
Definitely getting this. So much nostalgia for me. I loved these shows so much as a kid.
But at the same time thinking this will be terrible
I'd prefer just a Rugrats kart racer, but this will do! Just hope the gameplay doesn't suck.
I hate that I want this... they know that they’ll get my money sooner or later.
Cool, but I already have MK.
I'll wait on reviews. Price is good and I'm more interested in this then the Sonic one
If the gameplay is any good, I'll almost have to get this...
Wait, GameMill? I thought THQ Nordic were the ones that would be leading the way for Nickelodeon games?
So THQ isn't working on this one? I'm very excited, nonetheless; I really hope the final product is good! The user interface seems very intrusive, but the screenshot of all the racers on a podium looks really nice. Really hope to see some representation from shows like Avatar, Invader Zim, Fairly OddParents, and Danny Phantom. Slightly more obscure series like El Tigre would be nice, as well. I know 90's nostalgia is a powerful thing right now, but please, Nickelodeon, don't forget us 2000's babies! (Born in mid-'99.)
I’m in.
@Not_Soos I think Tak or Ren and Stimpy are more likely than El Tigre.
Dibs on Angelica
Since it has the TMNT in it, I guess I'll buy it just for that. This is probably the closes we get to Injustice 2 on the Switch.
@Roam85 - They're attempting to sell the game, not chase them away.
Yay!!!!
Hmm... looks good but if it doesn’t have online then I’ll pass. I don’t really have people to play with locally and I would get bored doing single player only.
This might actually be a fun alternative to MK8. I hope I can play as Doug Funny. Maybe even Quail Man. I miss old-school Nickelodeon.
i might be losing my marbles but this actually could be good fun if done well, Starfox DKR thing looks like it may have been total rubbish and as great as Mario Kart has been for the last 20 years I can't play friends with it as I have such an advantage!
I'll wait for gameplay vids before I give my final judgement. Though I have absolutely no expectations for this game. Lol
@20wonders Probably so, and that's fine. I just want representation from some of Nick's more niche cartoons. My Life as a Teenage Robot is another one I'd really like to see.
Danny Phantom needs to be in it or no deal.
My nephew is going to go Bonkers over this.
I would hope they include Jimmy Neutron and Danny Phantom.
I'll wait to see gameplay, but this doesn't look THAT bad actually.
I'm gonna wait for reviews. I'd really to get TSR, so I'll wait to check out for good gameplay. That's it or nothing
Labo compatible or no buy
I thought THQ is handing Nick exclusively, and I guess they have license to TMNT characters which is surprising. Is there something behind the scenes that I'm unaware about?
The characters look nicely detailed and styled upon seeing the podium screenshot, so this gives me hope that this studio can allow a competent Mario Kart clone.
That being said.
Put in The Loud house or bust.
Nicktoons Racing 2? Hell yeah dude.
used to watch Nickelodeon when i was younger.
great move on whoever made the idea, using the three biggest shows of the 90s (one being rebooted as a tv series, and the other still running, and hey arnold had a movie to finish it's story?) and including TMNT. made this pretty much hype alot of Nick Fans alike.
if the reviews are good, i might get it.
I'm guessing the roster's going to be huge since Reptar's going to be playable.
I wait to see what reviews say. on another note i used to have wacky races on c64 and on dreamcast of course the dreamcast version was a lot better but the c64 one was good for the time too. I would love a all new wacky races game!,
If there is any kind of Invader Zim presence in this game I may consider a purchase. Otherwise, hard pass.
Halt! I am Reptar!
Reptar and TMNT? I'm in.
I sense a 6/10 game right here... I’ll stick to MK8.
@Anti-Matter TMNT.... I am in.
@Mgene15 That's the fear.
Bokini Bottom?
I’ll buy it for TMNT alone.
@Not_Soos Same here. I want Jenny to be in this game.
Nick, admit defeat and get the characters in Mario Kart proper already.
It would work far better than you think it would... trust me.
Is anyone else surprised by how polished the graphics look? It's not as pretty as Mario Kart 8 or Team Sonic Racing but it looks better than I would have imagined it. Not bad for a budget title at all.
too close to Sonic Racing. But wow, do I want this and hope its good
I skipped MK8D (because I had played it to exhaustion when I had the Wii U) to wait for a possible MK9.
Since now I think MK9 will never arrive, I'm betting my money on Team Sonic Racing.
But even if TSR isn't all that great, I'd go back to MK8D and not for this one.
I hope the fans from those franchises enjoy it them. Nothing wrong in having another option.
I guess that everybody wants a piece of the kart racing pie.
Hope it plays well. Please have Doug as a playable character
I will only race as Reptar
I haven't see some of these characters in about 15 years now holy [removed].
@RyanSilberman Depends on the exact terms of the license, but there are some scenarios I can think of.
-The license is non-exclusive.
-The license was specific to individual ips and doesn't fully cover crossover games. Similar to the Hulk ip issue Marvel is having, where they HAVE to stick him in other peoples' movies because they don't own the rights for him specifically. (Thor/Avengers)
-Gamemill had an existing license for the Kart game specifically that pre-dates the THQ licenses.
-THQ made a deal with Gamemill and sub-contracted them. This is common enough, and Nintendo themselves has done this with their ips, with other publishers like Bandai Namco and Ubisoft.
Seems fun. Maybe I will buy this in time to play along my kid.
Want this more than Sonic Racing now. Could be really good if they don’t try to rush it.
Looks mediocre at best.
I can't believe I'm considering a Nickelodeon game. I wish they didn't put Spongebob at the front and centre (as they always seem to do) as that is the most off-putting thing about this release.
Like the idea....
Will wait for reviews
Why does it look like it was created 10 years ago? Tommy's still got that industrial-strength plastic diaper from the PS2 days.
Nice, probably not the greatest, but still a good idea. Nick should really think about more stuff like this with their classic characters.
Are any of these cartoons still popular? This seems like a game made for kids, but kids from 15 years ago. I mean some adults might like it for the nostalgia, or buy it for their kids because they want to interest their kids in shows they liked as a kid themself but...
Who is the audience for this game really?
It reminds me of the Nicktoons Racer game from almost 20 years ago. I am excited for this.
You know what would be great? If Nickelodeon decided to do a line of toys-to-life figurines to coincide with this game. Would love to own officially-licensed, quality figures of Avatar: The Last Airbender, SpongeBob, Fairly OddParents, Invader Zim, etc. The same goes for Cartoon Network and their rich IP.
I hope Doug is in it ; )
Yes... Teach more babies to drive...
No Zim? No buy.
Most likley not buying this either way but Zim is a must have for this game! The pathetic infant earth monkeys must know the true powe of ZIIIIIIIM!
@Heavyarms55 Mostly children, and by the looks of it, the people who remember some of the older shows.
Mario Kart 8 DX better watch out!!
Hello fellow Nicktoons fans and gamers! My name is Saul T. Peacock, and I am a diehard Nicktoons fan who is disappointed in the lack of a PC version for this game. I would appreciate it if you took the effort to look at and sign my petition, and maybe even spread the word around to make this a reality!
https://www.change.org/p/nickelodeon-please-release-nickelodeon-kart-racers-on-pc
I will post this on as many blogs as I can find to spread the word, thank you for reading!
@ReaderRagfish
"You could win 90% of races just by holding down A, the car just kinda steered itself."
LOL
@Saul_T_Peacock
Why do you want to play Nickelodeon Kart Racer on PC if you can play it on Nintendo Switch & you can play it anywhere ?
@westman98
Don't worry.
Spongebob don't say "Yahoo...!" / "Let us go !" / "Here we Go !" like Mario did.
They don't have Blue Shell to be Blast on.
I’ll have to see how it plays. But sales might hurt a bit because of MK8D and that new Sonic racing game
@Anti-Matter Because not everyone has a Switch or has friends with that have a switch.
There is certainly a market for it and you can still buy your switch version if it's also released on pc
You had me at Hey Arnold.
I'm actually really excited for this game its going to have alot of my favorite childhood characters and my wife and me are gonna have fun racing each other lol.
Nickelodeon video games are always horrible.
@Santoria Mind your language!
@Roam85 Those are still new! 1988 turtles would have been great.
@Anti-Matter Not that it matters much, but Mario actually says "Lets a go".
Nintendo and Nickelodeon combo=amazing!! Hope it lives up to expectations
