Eclipse Games will release its platform title Spheroids on the Switch eShop later this month. The game will be made available to download in America on 20th July, with the European release a week later on 27th July.
If you haven’t heard about this game before, it was originally released on the Wii U eShop last January. The design of Spheroids draws on the bubble popping mechanics of Pang / Buster Bros.
Set in a comical science-fiction universe, you take control of Lucas - a jumpy Canadian boy who sets out on an adventure with his crazy scientist companion Otto after discovering the government has been hiding alternative universes from the cubic world they live in. With dangerous alien spheres now trying to turn everything round, it’s up to the unlikely hero to save the day.
In total there are 32 levels across eight different locations, a variety of enemies and gadgets, a unique art-style that combines pixel art with vector graphics and an original soundtrack.

@frogopus They are available in Australia. I think they're in the UK as well.
As long as no one mentions the title of this article I think this comment section will remain fine -_-
nb4 someone calls this shovelware.
Shovelware. Lol
anyone know a price?
@Dayton311 No price yet. The original was $7.99 in the US.
Tbh that game looks kinda fun, might have to break some balls later this month!
See you was quick to change the original title xD
Nintendo needs to bring that Seal of Quality back.
The artstyle is so terrible it's insulting. Half pixel art, but then smooth round enemies and some faux 3D/shadowing in other places.
Like it was designed by three different people with a severe visual impairment;
That combat looks severely stressful. Like, needlessly stressful.
@BigKing "so terrible it's disgusting" is an exaggeration. The premise quite literally is round alien blobs invading a blocky world. I'd say it fits that perfectly. It may be nothing special, but it's not ET-level bad or Custer's Revenge level offensive.
I really like the look of the game, it's unique and I've never seen anyone mix Pang with platforming. The original review on Wii U did put me off though as it got 6/10. Might still buy it though although may check out the Switch review to see if the score changes first.
A bit like a mix of Mutant Mudd and Pang.
This game needed a bit more development time on Wii U, otherwise it was pretty fun and had lots of different stages themed with places around the world..
It had two noticeable flaws though: There were quite a few stages where you could leave the playing area, especially when you found the antigravity boots. Sometimes you just couldn't tell if you found a top secret path or another glitch zone. An unusual amount of times I was climbing on top of the level graphics, then falling through the ground into an abyss or getting stuck inside a wall. Some levels felt as if they were not tested enough. And no sound / complete silence in the cutscenes was another oddity. I hope Eclipse patched this all up for Switch release because it's a rather nice platformer that deserves better than the rushed-for-release-before-the-Switch-comes-out Wii U version.
Anyway, I liked completing this and it took me around 7 hours.
Apart from Spheroids and Pirate Pop Plus are there any similar (Pang!) games on the Switch eShop?
