Indie developer 7Levels has confirmed that its upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusive Castle of Heart will be released on 23rd March.
A platformer that combines jumping heroics with hack-and-slash style combat, Castle of Heart features changing landscapes, weather conditions, and rich backgrounds derived straight from famous, mystical locations in Poland (the developer's home country).

- 20 completely different levels in 4 beautiful environments loosely inspired by real-life locations
- Roughly 50 types of both short- and long-range weapons, allowing each gamer to find their own, individual combat style
- HD Rumble support, further increasing players’ immersion

- Breathtaking graphic design
- Numerous power-ups that enrich the gameplay

I don't like the graphics and the animations... feels a little too generic for my taste
The whole turning to stone unless keeps fighting, just reminds me of the film Crank with Jason Statham
I hope this turns out well, it's definitely something different from the usual indie platformers. The price is decent too. If the framerate is stable and the game is actually fun to play I'll get it for sure.
I should keep an eye on this one! It really looks fun!
Looks pretty good
I want in on Castlevania of the Heart!
I'll keep my eye on this one.
I'm starting to wonder, are indie Devs ACTUALLY making money at this point? Like, the eshop must be flooded with games now, ( mostly excellent games) too many maybe?
Who's buying a few games from there each week? I'm not. Last summer I bought a couple, but sticking with physical mostly now if games get them.
Just seems like a bit of a bubble for indies on the switch ATM. Maybe that's what EA are waiting to see what happens there.
Just a thought.
At that price it has peaked my interest but I'll wait for a review
Yay, a Switch exclusive!
I am more and more interested in this game the closer it gets to release, a good review will seal the deal for me, I am a sucker for medieval themed games, not gonna lie!
@RetroGamerAndrew It's weird. Sometimes action platform games that go in a straight line like this look good while others look too simplistic and bland. This unfortunately feels too linear and bland. I wonder makes or breaks such games?
So tanooki Mario grew up and Peach knighted him. I love how they keep pushing that turn to stone thing as some revolutionary feature. Maybe I’ll pick the game up eventually, but I think $15 is too much for me to risk on what I’ve seen so far.
i thought it was castlevania
Looks good i pay 15 pounds for this all day long. I wouldn't pay full price but at this price it seems like a steal.
20 levels? But... but the trailer says that it only has 7...
In all seriousness, though: I don't get the negativity, unless this type of game is just not your thing. It looks good, the story seems well-developed enough, and it's a Switch-exclusive indie platform puzzler that challenges the likes of Trine 1 & 2, games that I absolutely loved, which for me already made it one to watch out for.
Looks to be a game for me. Graphics look great. Reminds me of ghosts & goblins. At $15 I'll give it a try. Would be nice to see a review first to make sure the game play is smooth. If so this will be a day 1 for me.
Skyrim and shiny Pokemon hunting have all my time these days.
I'll be keeping my eyes on this for reviews, & such. Looks pretty good; for $15, plus tax, it better be.
@readyletsgo I've been buying a few games most weeks but my backlog is getting silly now. I agree there probably are too many being released each week. Some will find success where other good games will be ignored. I think we'll see many indies taking the Oxenfree approach where having a huge discount makes it hard to ignore. That's good for us the consumer and the indie in the short term but in the long term, probably not.
@OorWullie yeah I'm thinking the same. But again, it's very rare I'd take up the discount offer on release, but that would be me, can't speak for others really.
I wonder when Devs will start to notice a decline in sales from release, if not already
Looks tasty.
hmmm
If the controls are spot on why the heck not!
It looks like another Mirror of Fate which is okay with me.
Is it me or it looks like the upcoming Bloodstained : ritual of the night? I am kind of interested and not at the same time by both games....a little too generic for me.
....yikes
