PlayStation 4 owners may be as pleased as punch with the realism on display in Gran Turismo Sport, but they can't play the game on the move like Switch owners will be able to with Gear.Club Unlimited when it power slides onto the Switch on 1st December.
In the video above you can see how the game performs in tabletop mode on the Switch. We have to say it's looking pretty nice to us.
Do you plan to pick up Microïds answer to Gran Turismo when it comes out? Let us know with a comment below.

I'm not sure man, is it a full price game?
Would buy for 20 quid or under.
Is there a demo coming, would have to try.
Does this have no online multiplayer? If not the price is way to high!
I don't know I need a racing game on the switch and this does not look that bad...only turn off is that it is another mobile port. My cell phone can play that thing. There local player is not much of a sell. At least it's not the new need for speed game. I really just want most wanted ported to the system. I would be extremely grateful.
I just hope this is good. Please be good!
Could you tune to drift here?
Really hoping this will satisfy!
I'd like to get it, but... the price is a little high and it'd be nice to see what improvements were made over the mobile version. One of my favorite Mario Kartesque games on mobile is Beach Buggy Racing which looks and plays better on the Switch than my iPad Air 2.
I’m still on the fence about this. I love racing sims but I’d like to see reviews first.
The only thing more painful than a shooter at 30 fps is a fighting game at 30 fps, and the only thing more painful than THAT is a racing game at 30 fps. If it was open world I could excuse it somewhat, but since racing is the primary gameplay, that sours the deal too much for me. Shame, since I was excited for this too.
Looks great, really excited about this one. Hoping that it ends up being a solid title already got it preordered at Gamestop!
I'll get it as a physical title, no way am I buying this digitally.
this damn game needs online multiplayer! it only has ghost /leaderboards, so lame. i might buy it black friday if it drops lower than $30
I'm in it for the 4 player split screen.
I like racing games but this looks rather generic and it's mobile roots stand out quite badly, I prefer a circuit racer or even a full on arcade experience like a Ridge Racer. I guess I'll just get Fast RMX for now which I've been meaning to pick up for some time
This one went from a hard pass to possibly a retail Day One for me. RedOut's gazillionth delay has helped, but it looks and sounds darn good to me.
@carlos82: Fast RMX is fantastic. Great bang for your buck.
Visuals actually don't look too bad (at least in handheld). The main concern for me is the price tag. It's being sold for $50 on GameStop. In addition to it being just a mobile port, it's physics looks like that of an arcade racer such as Asphalt or Cruis'n. I want to be excited for this but it's pretty difficult for me.
Nope.
Stop looking at the game through the lens of mobile.
It introduces bias into your perception. The game should be judged on its own merits, not how it began. The mobile version is a different game. Different graphics, different controls, different content and monetization. Lots of console games get mobile ports, that doesn't make them any less as console games. Likewise, mobile games get console ports too. It's the same thing just in reverse. In both cases they are two different games with different value and should not be viewed as the same game. Judge what you see, no more, no less.
Look at the game as if it's a brand new game... and tell me it doesn't look excellent.
@UboaNoticed
Doesn't matter if it's open world or not. Forza Horizon plays just fine at 30fps, proving there's nothing "painful" about it. Open world, closed world, makes no difference. Racing is racing. And if it's smooth in Forza it'll be smooth here too. This is a Nintendo Switch not a PS4 Pro.
@Amsterdamsters @N8tiveT3ch @mattmayatt and all the other people wondering: from what I've understood, the game will look slightly better on Switch compared to mobile, and more importantly: it will be the entire game, all stuff included, on one cartridge.
The mobile version had tonnes of in-game purchases for gear, cars and so on, so it might be free to start, but it is not nearly as complete as the Switch version will be, unless you're willing to do that pay to win thing...
EDIT: a slight correction on the features, because you can still buy cars in the Switch version. Then again, that's something that's not uncommon in other race games either. Forza for instance, also has custom car packs for sale.
And to me, the physics seem fine, @wiggleronacid, albeit slightly "arcadey". Made me think of the earlier games in the current Need for Speed series.
"playstation 4 owners maybe pleased as punch with Gran Turismo Sport"
Not this one, I was so disappointed I sold Gt sport after just 3 days then a week later traded in my ps4 and swapped it for an Xbox one s with Forza.
Literally the best decision I ever made
I only bought a ps4 in the first place for gran turismo. What on earth possessed them to make it online only I'll never know.
They've lost a loyal customer in myself anyway, I've had every playstation over the years but no more thanks
I read elsewhere that these are the same devs who made Testdrive Unlimited?
Those were solid games. They are also saying that full online MP is coming too?
I get that this started as a mobile
port but you can tell it is much more than just that. I’d like to see how it performs in 4 player split screen, I would like to know what the roll out for MP is, and I’d like to know the full details on car upgrades etc.
I was reading about it in the latest issue of Game Informer last night, and my interest piqued the minute I heard it was the test drive unlimited devs. That means the basic racing should be pretty good.
I’ll hold out for a little while to see what the DLC brings, but it’s inevitable that I’ll end up getting this.
@JaxonH It still has the same dull tracks, ai and physics though. Better graphics and being able to use a controller won’t change that. Also the price they are asking for is crazy imo.
@tebunker No not really the same people, most left after TDU2. TDU was great, but the second game sucked, especially if you used a wheel as there was literally no force feedback.
@Hughesy
I'll judge for myself on that once I play the game.
But if that's true, at least let it be true based on its own merits.
Do I plan to pick up Microïds answer to Gran Turismo when it comes out? I bloody do now!
Hope this is decent
@Savino haha yeah. I too thought that was stupidly written by the writer. 😂
Do the race courses in the game not have music? :/
looks like a decent need for speed. i only like track racing, these generic mountain stage racing leave me cold, but if the price is reasonable i may bite
NOTE: this game does not have live online gameplay, but asynchronous online (you play against ghost times saved online by other players)
@Pahvi
Time Trial mode.
@Pahvi I was wondering the same thing.. I hope it is like a time trial.
@Marios-love-child GT Sport isn't a mainline GT game from what I read, and wasn't meant to replace the numbered release. I'm hoping GT 7 is in the works for PS4.
Yes thousand times yes!
Good to see FakeEden have fixed the comical manual shifts in cars with semi auto gear boxes.
Oh wait they haven't. Because this is a straight port of the trashy low rent mobile game with IAP stripped.
Expecting this to be anything like on par with TDU or Porsche Unlimited is going to end in disappointment. Think early 2000s BlackBox era low budget Need for Speed clone and you're about there.
I will get the physical version. This should be better than the mobile version. Hence the title unlimited.
Considering this is an iOS game, I’m really not that enticed to get it. It would have to make a lot of improvements to game play for me to think about it. Unlimited means no microtransactions, but how does that work in the garage? What is time for installing parts and upgrading the garage?
@Marios-love-child Wow, pretty much my story as well. Except I didnt purchase GT Sport, after I beat GT6 Forza 5 had me sold on Xbox One. Love the Forza series.
This could be a fun little arcade racer like ridge racer and burnout, but it all depends on the handling. So far it looks a bit twitchy but if Eden can sort that out and there is enough single player content Ill pick it up. The iOS version of the game was well reviewed so the foundations seem to be there.
@cloud36426
From what I gather it isn't (well it probably is but won't be anytime soon, if anything will probably be a ps5 game)
https://www.gtplanet.net/polyphony-digital-no-plans-gran-turismo-7/
I'd already waited long enough for a decent driving game so decided to jump ship to Xbox
@Marios-love-child I missed that article. That sucks major. My favorite racing franchise. I do not game online so therefore GT Sport is a no go for me.. Oh well least thanks for the info.
@cloud36426
Yeah I've always loved the concept of Gran Turismo games, i.e getting your licences , starting out with a crappy car and working your way through the various cups & competitions to earn money to tune up your car and eventually buy new ones.
Unfortunately GT Sport decided to remove all of that in favour of Online racing.... I've nothing against online racing as such but I'd rather it have been an option than the whole game being online focused.
Nintendo games are my main passion, I only really had a PS4 for the likes of Fifa, Call of Duty and of Course Gran Turismo.
I figured FIfa & Call of Duty are also available on Xbox so thought I'd give that a try with Forza 7.
Have to say its fantastic..... No Regrets whatsoever so far
Are you guys seriously comparing a sim like Gran Turismo and and a totaly arcade game like Gear Club? Just because a game has real cars, doesn't mean it is a sim.
