The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is now available on the Switch and, as you may well already be aware, it is possible to equip a small selection of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild-inspired items to your character. If you feel like ditching your standard everyday weapons to charge around Skyrim with a Master Sword in hand instead, make sure to keep reading!
There are three Zelda-themed items available in the game and they can be found either during natural gameplay, or much quicker and easier if you have any compatible The Legend of Zelda amiibo knocking around. The items you can get your hands on are the Master Sword, the Hylian Shield, and the Champion's Tunic. Below, you'll find details on how to locate the gear natively within the game, a complete list of the amiibo figures that can get the items for you, and an explanation of how to use amiibo in the game (as this can be a little fiddly if you've never played Skyrim before).
Where To Find The Zelda Gear In Skyrim
If you don't have any amiibo lying around, or if you want to feel the satisfaction of reaching them naturally in the game, you'll be happy to know that they aren't too hard to find - as long as you know where to look.
You'll be able to find a treasure chest containing the Zelda items at the very top of the 'Throat of the World' location which you can see on the map above. Reaching the top can be an exhausting journey - as well as being incredibly hard to navigate unless you find the correct path - so we recommend a specific route if you want to make it up there. Start by travelling to Ivarstead (located just southeast of the Throat of the World) on the map. If you exit north from Ivarstead you should come across a bridge - beyond this bridge is a staircase going up into the mountain. This staricase has a whopping 7,000 steps to climb, but it will eventually get you to the top.
Compatible amiibo And How They Work
If you really can't wait to get your hands on Link's wonderful attire, you can use any amiibo from The Legend of Zelda universe to spawn a special treasure chest at will. Any figure can be scanned into the game once every 24 hours (if you have several figures you can scan them all each time) and the treasure chests they produce each have a 20% chance of containing one of the Zelda-themed gear items. As an example, we scanned eight different Zelda amiibo in one, short sitting and received two of the three items. Your luck may be different - for better or worse - but you will definitely eventually end up collecting the gear you are after.
Every single Zelda-related amiibo can be used in this way but, just in case you wanted to be 100% sure that you have the right ones, we've compiled a complete list for you below.

How To Use amiibo In Skyrim
If you're unfamiliar with how Skyrim's menus are laid out, or how to equip your various weapons and magic skills, you may find this information on how to equip the amiibo - useful. Most weapons and skills are equipped by using either 'ZL' to use them in your left hand or 'ZR' to use them in your right hand - the amiibo function works a little differently, however.
Start by pressing 'B' to bring up a menu and flick the control stick to the left a couple of times to select 'Magic'. On the 'All' tab, flick the control stick to the left again and you should find an option for 'amiibo'. With the amiibo selection highlighted, press either 'ZL' or 'ZR' to equip it - unlike other abilities, this one does not get assigned to a particular hand ready for you to use. With the amiibo function equipped, return out of the menu, head to some open space, and press 'R'. The 'R' button is usually used for your Shout in the game but, with the amiibo function assigned, pressing the button will instead release a wave of pulsating energy on screen. When you can see this wave of energy, scan an amiibo onto your controller's NFC reader and a treasure chest will appear - ta da!

Question: if I get a Zelda item, does anyone know if you can obtain them again? Such as if I sell them or enchant them, etc?
Thanks!
