Earlier this month, Gunman Clive developer Bertil Hörberg stated over Twitter that the awaited sequel to his eShop cult hit would have to wait a bit as he battled some recently discovered bugs--and what sounded like a nasty cold as well. It seems Hörberg made good time, though, and Gunman Clive 2 has received approval for distribution in both Europe and North America:

Lotcheck (officially known as Lot Check) is the name of Nintendo's certification process.
Hörberg went further on Twitter to say that, with Lot Check out of the way, he is beginning to develop "serious pre-release jitters instead" and that he doesn't intend to touch the game again until it's out. Are you awaiting the 29th of January now as well?

If this can happen I don't understand why e.g Wayforward / Yacht Club Games had so much trouble. (Unless they are lying and using the profits from the USA release to pay for the ESRB fees).
@unrandomsam I'm not 100% on this, but I would imagine part of it is that Gunman Clive 2 has less content that has to be checked.
Be good to see it released soon as the first one was awesome.
Looking forward to this. I got a lot of fun out of the first one for the price.
Finally!
wooooooooooooooooooooo!
In my list of eshop games to buy. Can't wait!
In my list of eshop games to buy. Can't wait!

I've been waiting for this game for sooooooo long! Can't wait to download it!
First hour buy for me.
I still haven't even played the first game. Don't know when I will get around to it, but I probably will eventually,
Will it cost $1.99 like the first? Does anyone know at this point?
Great, I hope the price is relatively low like the first one — $5 would be great. If so, this is an insta buy for me
CANT WAIT FOR THIS GAME! BEEN WAITING EVER SINCE the announced a PART 2!!! The 1st one was SO GOOD! The music and especially that art style!
The 1st gunman clive was my 1st 3sd eshop game. So it will be awesome to have the sequel as my 1st 3ds eshop game of 2015.
@hikingmudkip6 @Jahir It's $2.99
Finally.
Man that Gun Man Clive game rocks. I played through it again when I heard the 2nd one was releasing soon. Awesome news! I can't wait to play it. I know it'll be good.
@Seanmyster6: Awesome. Day one!
Very interesting.
@unrandomsam - It is possible that one region finds issues repeatedly that the other never found (or never considered serious enough to prevent publication).
It is also possible that EU versions take longer to develop waiting for localisations ( I'm assuming GC2 doesn't have too much text in it. I don't remember any in the original ).
It is possible that EU versions get held up in the age ratings process. The US process is done instantly online. The EU processes involve sending final versions off and waiting for results.
It is possible that publishers hold back releases in EU until they are sure the additional financial investment will pay off.
There is no simple reason why EU versions are delayed/never appear, but many valid reasons.
Horberg is a great developer. First he delays the game for having found bugs, and then he quickly gets rid of them. Money is already on the eShop for this.
This guy is amazing. I can't wait to buy this immediately.
Never before have I looked forward this much to buying a three-dollar game.
Got lots on my plate to play, but I'll have to make some room for this. The first was an excellent surprise for me.
All I can say is if it's as well priced as the first GunMan Clive, I'm sold! It looks like it could be better than the first.
