Super Smash Bros. for Wii U has already been keeping gamers busy in the West, but it is all set to arrive in Japan on 6th December; the 3DS version sold in terrific numbers in the country, and Nintendo will hope to see that momentum shift to the home console entry.
When the 3DS version was being marketed in Japan, meanwhile, it had some terrific commercials and longer trailers to promote its arrival; the good news is that this also seems to be the case for the home console entry. Posted today, the TV commercial below shows Nintendo characters being smashed out of an apartment building, with plenty of players jumping in for a match; it also takes the opportunity to show off all of the supported controllers.
We think this is pretty entertaining, but check it out below and let us know what you think.

I'm surprised that the building isn't broken from all of the flying characters.
Hmm... Short and scoff-inducing.
I wish random people I saw on the street would whip out controllers and play Smash Bros with me, only to come home to my mother brandishing a pair of nunchuks.

For those who don't know how to read the tags in the commercial, here are in order:
1.Classmates
2. Couple
3.Salaryman.
4.Mom (obviously)
@Phantom_R They do this all the time in Japan. This is actually not a commercial, it's a documentary film on modern Japanese culture.
HACHI-NIN! HAH WUUUUU!
I wish we got fun Nintendo commercials here in the US... Or just any commercials.
How does NOA endorse a Mario-themed DWTS routine and yet not a single Wii U (much less anything Nintendo related) ad follows? Its marketing 101.
I love how they show all the controllers that are compatable. Maybe lacking a Wii Classic Controller but I can't tell what one person has. Funny commercial and shows off the fun of smash and that anyone can play.
The Mom has good tastes playing as Ness.
Them Japanians...
@ajcismo We have the "Settle it in Smash" commercials. XD
8 different controllers can be used. Have it your way.
I like how the ad illustrated the different control options available for Smash Bros Wii U.
