Will LEGO Iwata return?

Last week we told you about a planned Japanese 3DS Direct with a focus on third-party games, and rather late last night Nintendo confirmed a time for this latest extravaganza. Naturally we're interested to see what's on the way, even if there's a danger of it featuring some games that won't make it West.

It all kicks off very soon - 6am Eastern U.S., 11am UK time and 12pm in Europe — and you can see it live here. We'll be watching and live texting as always, though as this will be in Japanese we're mainly in it for the game footage. Will this be a re-tread of already confirmed games or a broadcast full of surprises? We'll soon find out.

Be sure to hit us up in the comments with your reaction to the broadcast and the games it shows.

Live Text - Updates will load here automatically, no need to refresh the page.

Well, that was packed with games, some of which may even come to the West. Ending with Monster Hunter and DQX was no surprise, and the software lineup looks rather healthy in Japan. We're signing off, and a couple of the bigger stories will make their way onto the front page. Thanks for joining us!

11:33

And with a mention of Dragon Quest X beta on Wii U, the broadcast ends.

11:32

Monster Hunter 4 looks excellent, it must be said.

11:31

It seems that a Wii U LAN adapter will allow online play in Monster Hunter 3G on 3DS.

11:29

It appears that 3DS online play in Monster Hunter 3G may be possible through the Wii U, via LAN. We're trying to get details.

10:55

5 minutes to go now; as this is 3rd party our dreams of the Luigi hat may be denied...

10:54

Tea has been brewed, we're waiting Nintendo.

10:51

With 3DS dominating Japanese sales, it'd be interesting to know whether this broadcast is getting much hype in Nintendo's homeland, or whether a certain competitor's reveal has taken the sting out of it.

10:45

The description on the stream has (sub) in brackets, and we'd be delighted if that means "subtitles"...

10:42

This broadcast will be 33 minutes long, just long enough to necessitate refreshments

10:30

30 minutes until the Japanese 3DS Direct. What 3rd Party delights will we see?
