Last week, we revealed that Wii U slugfest Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2 would be only available as a digital download in Europe.
Today, we've been told that the game will adopt the same distribution platform for North America. That means that Japan is only region to get a physical copy of the game - hardly a shock, seeing as it's based on a famous Japanese comic and anime series.
The game is due for release on 7th February - we've no word on pricing as yet, but given the game's background as a proper retail release, we'd expect it's going to be quite steep.
Were you hoping to pick this up as a disc-based release, or are you happy to take it as a download? Drop a comment below to fill us in.

Remember when they used to show gameplay in previews/commercials. Not anymore.
I really don't care about download only, I just hope the game is good.
The beginnig of the end.
Size?
Downloads of 60 or 70 dlls? no thanks.
Very disappointing, I really want this game and really (REALLY) wanted a box of it... I'm already dead. head explodes
Well to be fair since there's no disc release it may be cheaper.
Knowing Tecmo Koei, they will cut the price for the digital release. Still a shame there is no retail copy for NA.
Nintendo really should stopped with this digital only retail release of game's that doesn't need them. At least give us the option of getting a box version, why are we paying full price for it again?
Seems fair enough (hope it's cheaper). Anime/manga based games dont have much of a following in the US (not count those who knows and like both animes and video games) imo and it's more costly/risky to localize the old fashion way.
This way the fans can play the game and we don't have to heard we're not releasing it outside Japan because we can't get a publisher excuse that makes wonder why I couldn't be Japanese.
If given the choice of the opportunity to download a "full retail" game or not have the chance to get it all I will choose the download option every time. This game is not going to be a big seller on the Wii U so I can see why they are going this route. Looking forward to the reviews on this one!
Yep. Is and option over not get it at all. Is a game in a niche...better this way
I think this is great. We'll probably miss less games thanks to this possibility. Like Unchained Blades for the 3ds.
Me personally, I'm actually glad to see devs take advantage of the online stores. Sure the physical copy is always preferred but physical copies tend to go obsolete even during the same generation, they tend to get messed up to the point of not playing sometimes (which is usually a big deal when buying used games), and a lot of games tend to not do the numbers needed to justify a retail release, which in this case, I'd prefer to have the digital version than no version.
But I want to save my data for Download ONLY games.
This is why I am glad I got the premium set. Also this should help withu us getting great games.
Hmm... Fist of the North Star is one of my favorite animes out there but I'm not looking forward to this game on any system.
Bought the first one for barely nothing, and even though I've never read the manga (I've known about it for decades, just never read/saw it) I enjoyed it a lot more than what I probably should have. It's just dumb, violent fun, definetly not for everyone, but worth giving a try.
hey if the download only allows me to experience more niche games, I'll buy a harddrive..
