Paincourse General Tips

Before we get into the nitty-gritty of the boss battle, here are some general things you'll want to keep in mind during the fight:
- Watch the ground for incoming tracks and ink a path out of there.
- Save your Showstopper for Power Egg collection.
- Mine carts can be fired back or left as obstacles — use them to your advantage.
How To Beat Paincourse
There's not a lot of hanging around in this fight, so stay nimble. Paincourse will come steaming out of the furnace to kick things off, so watch for the tracks on the floor, and make sure you're out of their way by the time they solidify.
The boss will then start circling the arena, shooting out mine carts. Watch for the yellow trajectory lines on the ground, and shoot these carts when they open to reveal their yellow interior — any that you don't shoot will explode, so keep your distance if you don't get there in time.
With the cart disabled, either line up a shot to fire it back at the circling Paincourse, or put it between you and the boss when it next makes tracks across the arena.
Once stunned, go to town on the boss, spamming gadgets for maximum damage.
This will start Paincourse's invulnerable phase. Just like the last boss fight against Paincourse, take out Salmonids to collect Power Eggs and unleash a Drill Attack. The smaller battleground this time makes this a prime spot to use Frye's Showstopper.
In the second phase, Paincourse will introduce a new blast attack, where it emits powerful beams from its yellow side portals. Stick close to its body in the gaps to avoid these attacks, and watch for any slow movements from the boss, which could shift the beams' angle.
Repeat the mine cart shooting and Power Egg collecting another one or two times, and you'll have this boss off the rails for good.
We hope this was useful! The next boss is Desshurt at Coohla Temple. You can find even more tips and tricks in our full Splatoon Raiders guide hub, as well as our lists of gadgets and parts, amiibo unlocks, weapons, outfits, and Tank upgrades, and how to beat the Splatoon Raiders final boss.
