Real stab in the dark. Not yet but I think its possible if nintendo want to pursue the idea.
Sega are offering to develop the title exclusively if a company will fund it.
Nintendo helped with Fatal Frame 4 (TECMO) although that one didnt end too well. Perhaps sega and nintendo are more friends now then when they were fencing off against each other. Could be a great collaboration if Nintendo picked it up.
I think the wii is a good platform to port it too because of the motion controls for QTE and I think it will feel right here.
No chance. For the price of bankrolling another Shenmue, Nintendo could probably dig three or four of their own dormant IPs out of the cupboard. With the likes of Kirby, Pikmin, Star Fox and F-Zero as yet unrepresented on the Wii, that's arguably what they should be doing too.
If anyone's going to fund it, I'd guess that the most likely candidate would be Microsoft as they've got a comparatively weaker first-party line-up than Sony and Nintendo. Then again, even they're not that hard up.
I'd imagine it'd get developed for one of the HD systems, but who knows.
You're right, Shenmue was at the time a technical wonder with an enormous budget. Why they'd take the opposite route in the event of a sequel and develop it for the Wii is beyond me. Sega has also moved towards Yakuza to fill the Shemue void, i'm not too sure if they'd have 2 franchises at the same time that accomplishes basically the same things. If you have a ps3 and crave for Shemue 3, get Yakuza 3.
There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore
Do agree with some of the comments. I do think this game will happen though, I dont see why not on wii to be honest. I think its not as expensive to make this game now as it was back then. Only real trouble with the WII is that it wouldnt get noticed as much as on 360 as the game needs to be hyped up. You wouldnt want Ant and Dec advertising it but rather a mature campaign. WII may be a more inexpensive platform and if Monster Hunter succeed's than why cant this.
Having read a bit about it I can see Microsoft being the most likely as they want to release anything that can give them a better japanese fanbase and Shenmue 3 is the most requested sequel ever in Famitsu. Microsoft are trying to conquer the japanese market.

Sega have made an official announcement that in exchange for financing that they would develop exclusively for a platform so sorry dont agree.

Yeah, as I said. Not going to happen, if Sega doesn't find it profitable to make a Shenmue 3 then nobody else is going to want to pay them to fail and lose money.

I hope you're not just speculating from nothing here. Seriously, I hate it when people do that about Shenmue, my favourite game of all time.
The wisest thing for Sega to do would be to convert Shenmue 1 and 2 to the Wii and see how it sells. If it's by the numbers I reckon they'd go for it, if not it'll make the existing Shenmue fans that little bit happier and make a few new ones as well.

Ive finished the NTSC and Pal versions of shemue on DC. Finished Shemue 2 on Pal DC and Xbox so I know my stuff when it comes to this game and other games. I do not post info that isnt from a reliable source. This is from sega themselves.
