What's wrong with the PS4? It's a good, albeit new console.
The PS4 is awesome, but the game library not so much. That's not the reason for my LOL though.....3DS has close to 44m units and PS4 has 7m. So there you have it.
Nintendo fan since 6 years of age.
Owned: SNES, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, DS, 3DS, Wii U, PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4 and PSP3000.
Portable consoles usually attract a younger demographic, so even though the DS sold like 140 million units, if this same pole was taken 3 or 4 years ago, the 360 would likely have taken the top spot.
It's a testament to the 3DS's quality library that it is high as it is.
I think this is a very biased pole. Just think. Kotaku being on the Internet means PC users will naturally be the most abundant, and it will only scale down from there based on how much like a PC the system is, with some glaring exceptions.
Also note that the question wasn't "which platforms are you playing" as the OP suggested but was instead "which system do you use the most". A question that would tend to lean towards the platform you played the last big game on because it didn't allow multiple responses. That's just how it works, people aren't going to vote for their portables or phones. Also Kotaku is an enthusiast site so naturally it'll be biased towards the more enthusiasts platforms, like the brand new consoles and the PC over the last gen consoles and phones/tablets.
Lastly there was a follow up poll to this one which asked how many systems people used: http://www.kotaku.com.au/2014/04/how-many-gaming-systems-do-y...
The most popular choices were three and four with a good 95% of people having more than one platform. So odds are that people who voted PC, PS4, XBOne probably also owned and played games on their 3DS, PS3, 360 or Wii U. Or some other random combination.

only 3-4, i feel like a horder having 10+ systems, not counting my handhelds, and i am switching between what i play on, and will most likely get a PS4 and a 3DS when i get my tax returns in the summer ^^,
Got 45 NES, 22 SNES, 53 N64, 195 GC, 50 Wii and 12 Wii U PAL games
These polls aren't 'X% of all gamers are playing these systems', but actually 'X% of Kotaku readers who can be bothered to do the poll are playing these systems'.
Remember 86% of all statistics are lies.
Isn't it obvious that Falco Lombardi is actually a parrot?

Well I only really have maybe three of four games I'm playing at any given point in time. Maybe one slow burner/time sink, an arcade style one and then one or two story driven ones. So I can see why people are saying three or four. My SNES is plugged in and my original Gameboy is actually on my desk but that doesn't mean I'm actually playing them.
