Topic: Starcraft II

Anybody play this game? If you're a fan of the RTS genre i'd recommend it.

But anyway, if you do play, what's your favorite race to play as? Are you more into the story for single player, or are you an elite online ladder ranker?

Just wanted to know if anyone in the Nintendo Life community plays or is thinking about playing. It would be cool to play with some folks again, good times!

I'm more of a single player person, I love the story in the Starcraft universe and I thought i'd share some information for the expansion, Heart of the Swarm.
I'm more of a Terran person, but playing Zerg would be interesting.

I thought it was pretty good. I'm not a huge RTS fan, but the hype led me to try it on a friends computer and I enjoyed the story mode. When I went to play it online I got my a** kicked all three times and the people I played against were.....unpleasant. (not that I hold that last bit against the game....you obviously can find a-holes in any online title).

I play both Starcraft 1 and 2. I normally play the single play campaign and I normally play Zerg but also play Protoss. I am looking forward to the heart of the swarm expansion. As for online, I tend to play with the people I know and prefer to play at Lan Parties.

I like Star Battle. Other than that, I just play with friends who also suck. Normally as Terran.

I got this day one, but haven't really played a lot recently. It would be nice to get some matches together. I'm no expert with any race, but I usually use Terran.

It's one of the 3 PC RTSes I have left to get, and I'm really looking forward to it. I was a big fan of the first Starcraft.

I am a huge RTS fan I've been wanting the game since it came out. Too bad my computer is too weak to play it.

I love SCII. I usually play with the Terrans, sometimes the Protoss guys if I'm feelin on top of my game.

Nexus Wars though is amazing. I could play that all day.

Are you sure? The game has pretty low minimum specs.

Anyone saw the SC 2 Dream Hack Tournament? It was crazy a Canadian won instead of a Korean, possibly for the first time too.

eh. i tried starcraft 1 but couldn't get into it. age of empires 2 and 3 are the pinnacle of the genre for me

I could never get into Starcraft myself. It's always felt so shallow and empty to me. I grew up playing Warcraft and Red Alert, and nowadays, when i want my RTS fix, those are the games I'll play.

red alert to me seemed even shallower (more shallow?). and i've never played warcraft. have you tried aoe?

Not enough to really delve into it. I remember trying AoE III and I just couldn't care for the factions. The only RTS I can stand that isn't humerous is Dune II, but it's such a milestone, how can one not enjoy Dune II?
