Yeah, I agree with Chrono. I'm a big fan of Sony and Microsoft, but it is so very frustrating to have to go through updates for a game you just bought. I want to play my new game, damnit.

I am more inclined to blame the developers and publishers though. The good thing about Nintendo is, because patching is so hard, they have to get it right first time. Patches for consoles was a bad idea.

Aviator

Does anyone have the Resi 6 demo? Would love to play either Chris/whoever and Jake/Sherry. (I would play Leon/Helena but lets be honest, it's 20 minutes of slow walking.)

Looks like there is a Killzone trilogy collection coming! Includes KZ1 from the PS2 in HD with trophies, KZ2 and KZ3 with all the map packs for a total of $40 on Oct 23 (24th in EU).

Count me in!

I'll be getting that Trilogy, just to have a copy of KZ1 with less slowdown.

Guerrilla Games said they'll also release KZ1 HD on PSN as a standalone game. But I'm going ahead with the trilogy pack, even if I do own the KZ3 standalone multiplayer. It's a blast

If that's actually the case I may wait for the stand alone release because I already have KZ 2 and 3. Either way, I'm just glad the first is finally getting released on PS3 in some form. I think it was the best game in the series but was held back a bit by the PS2 hardware.

Sony has revealed that the PlayStation Network is due to go down for maintenance for a 14 hour period on Monday, September 10th. The maintenance period spans from 8am PT to 10pm PT (or 11am ET to 1am ET on the 11th).

The post notes that “If you’ve signed onto PSN over the past few days, you’ll still be able to play online and access apps during this period, but you may receive a maintenance notification when attempting to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, and Account Management as these services will be unavailable.” As such, “Be sure to sign in now if you wish to access the Network during this maintenance window.”

This maintenance warning was posted on the North American PlayStation Forums, so it’s unclear if it will affect other territories. However, PlayStation Network outages and maintenance periods typically do affect all territories.

When you play Borderlands online does your level and guns and stuff from SP carry over or do you start from scratch?

Double Dragon Neon hits this Tuesday and is free for PS+ members. I hope the game is good.

I've recently got into playing pinball on my iPad, and have been surprised by how much I've enjoyed it. I should definitely give the PS3 version a go.

@kevohki - I have my fingers crossed that it doesn't suck.

@OlympicCho - I was going to get it till I saw the price of the DLC.

it's not DLC - thats the cost of the game. You download the game for free, and then demo any table you want to. If you like the table, you buy it. Dont like the table, dont buy it. It works out at roughly $4 per table... And, if you only want one table, the entire game is only going to set you back $4. How the heck is that expensive?

And yes if you buy every table you're looking at $80 or so, but that is for literally months of pinball play. That's a big investment for only the most hardcore pinball fans.

Double Dragon Neon is full of cheesy 80's goodness.

Completed Bulletstorm last night. I really think they should've named in D**kjokestorm because the dialogue adds nothing to the storyline except being mildy amusing. Or even Clichestorm as I've never predicted a game's events so well.

My friend and I tediously watched me complete the game (should have ended two hours before it did but... yeah), and as we knew the ending was approaching we brainstormed how cliche it was going to be. We guessed that the General was going to admit to what he'd done, kill Ishi, and the remaining two idgits were going to escape the planet at the last second.

We were right on the money! We even guessed the second Ishi "died", that there was going to be a terrible cliffhanger. And there was! Ishi was still alive! LOL

The gameplay was really satifying, though a bit repetitive after about five hours. Definitely wasn't worth $20 new.
