Topic: Your Top 10 Most Played Switch Games

@imadeanaccount Just tested it by playing Enter the Gungeon, another game I hadn't played in a while. I can see that I have 25 hours on it and 15 hours on Super Mario Bros Wonder, but on the 'most to least played software' list, Gungeon is still coming up below Wonder. There are several other examples of games I know are in the wrong place on the list as well. Just a weird oversight from Nintendo I guess.

@Dogorilla If you have multiple switches (and possibly also multiple accounts per switch?) I think 'hours played' can get messed up. I've seen it on mine when hours played was totally wrong, but sorting by most played still put the game at the exact right spot.

@FishyS I only have the one Switch, and the number of hours played are pretty much correct as far as I can tell. My brother used to share my Switch as I said, so maybe that's messed it up somehow, but he hasn't played Mario Wonder on my Switch so there's no reason that should be above Enter the Gungeon. Weird how Nintendo's made such a mess of playtime tracking on Switch when it was fine on 3DS and Wii U!

Have to do it off the top of my head because sorting by playtime only shows what's been played on the current Switch (which in my case since I upgraded to the OLED). I also can't get accurate playtime numbers from my profile for a lot of my older games because it started to forget the older ones after some point in time.

My rough top ten would be though:
1. The Binding of Isaac - 2500+ hours
2. Splatoon 2 - 1000+ hours
3. Animal Crossing: New Horizons - 700+ hours
4. Monster Hunter Rise - 600+ hours
5. Splatoon 3 - 500+ hours
6. Groove Coaster - 500+ hours
7. Touhou Spell Bubble - 200+ hours
8. Terraria - 200+ hours
9. Monster Hunter Generation Ultimate - 200+ hours
10. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - 200+ hours

Slay the Spire and I think Theathrythm Final Bar Line are also in the 200+ hour club and Wildfrost is close at 195+ hours. Got a ton more in the 100+ hour range.

And just because it's easier to see, my top ten played on my OLED specifically are:

Suika Game is slowly but surely creeping towards my top 10 most played.

On my new Switch the times aren't counted anymore so this is from my old Switch. Possibly Hades is higher now given I played it for a fair bit last month. Top 10 as of.... early January when I got my OLED:

Small note, some games like Disney Speedstorm and World of Tanks Blitz, may have more playtime in general since I play them on both PC and Switch with cross-progression. Times shown are from Switch.

I owned a Switch in 2017 to play Breath of the Wild and a few other games, sold it in late 2019 and finally purchased an OLED in October 2021. These are the numbers from that system, which are perhaps a tad more conservative compared to the first Switch I owned:

Have to say, I'm very attached to the OLED screen now and it makes for a great backup option if the next system plays up or is lacking in games. It'll be interesting to see what other titles make their appearance on people's lists over the next 12 months or so, as Nintendo relies ever more on remasters and re-releases whilst inevitably shifting its focus to pastures new.
