So after trading in a bunch of stuff into my local Game Stop (Yea I know stop rolling your eyes) I had enough credit to get my hands on a switch.. I went all out I got the switch,(Ballistic glass cover of course) Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Zelda BOTW, Mario Odyssey, and Nights of Azure 2, I also got my hands on the Pro controller, The PDP charging controller, For on the go. I grabbed the Ravpower26800MAh USB C portable charger and the 8BitdoSF30 Pro Gamepad. I am soooo glad I made the plunge...This is a great system I cant wait to see what's comming up. (hopefully the E Shop gets classic games soon).. Any thing I missed that I should grab?
Trading a bunch of stuff to GameStop is not a thing I would brag about.
Oh believe me I am not bragging lol. But I had a Wii and a bunch of games sitting in my closet. I actually got a decent trade in value for it and a bunch of games. Along with some other items. Besides this way the wife can't complain lol.
You're gonna need a clone to do the rest of your life for you for the next couple of months so you can sink a ridiculous amount of time into the games.
Seriously, though, I can't comment on XBC or NoA cuz they're not quite my thing, but knowing a bit about their runtimes and knowing how much time you can sink into BotW and Mario, you're gonna be quite set for a good while.
Here's hoping for some classic games in the e-shop soon, but if you're looking for something a bit retro right now, I can wholeheartedly recommend Shovel Knight and/or Cave Story+. They're a pair of excellently done indie retro-platformers that'll scratch that classic-game itch quite well.

I would - that's how most of us get our used games. I mean, yes, Gamestop are the biggest winners in that exchange, but in the end it helps us, too.
And at many times in my life it was either trade in at Gamestop or not buy any games. I wish I could get back all the games I traded, but I'm not ashamed about it.

Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.
@TB-1599 I did the same exact thing. I traded in my Wii U and all of the games along with some Xbox One games that I no longer played. So my trade in, Christmas money, and Best Buy gift card got me a Switch and Breath of the Wild. I only paid $10 for everything
You should grab a Micro SD card. It would probably be best to buy a decent size one so you don't have to carry around a lot of them. Even if you typically buy physical games there will most likely be some games that are eShop only, or some DLC for your current games you'll want. Eventually you'll need the extra space. I went with the 200GB SanDisk one. It's pretty cheap for the amount of storage.

Yea. I picked up a 128G card already. I figured that was a given thats why I didn't include it LOL
@TB-1599 Golf Story, SteamWorld Dig 2, Floor Kids, Nine Parchments, Stardew Valley, Fast RMX, Blaster Master Zero, Sonic Mania, Wonder Boy, Axiom Verge, Death Square, Shantae, Has-Been Heros, Rocket League... Just... check out the eshop. I'd say it's already neck and neck with the best of the Wii U's eshop over it's whole life.
So GS gave you... what, 9 dollars? That said, you gotta do what you gotta do. Sounds like you have a good 400+ hours of fun lined up with those games already!

@TB-1599 congrats dude
I’m always happy for someone when I’ve heard they purchased a switch as it has changed my gaming life for the better.
Your going to have so much fun with those games you have already purchased, but there are some indie gems you should defo get.
Also skyrim is defo worth getting as I put in 400 hours on pc but still purchased for switch and it feels like a different game.
We got a great year ahead of us too
Never traded in stuff at our GS equivalent here in the UK (GAME), however I do acknowledge in the ease in taking stuff to trade in. I have done it at an independent retro store I frequent thought thats cos I can haggle a bit. The valuable stuff ends up on eBay though.
