@pbb76 I've only come onto this thread to say how much I admire your avatar

Controls are totally remappable though and the defaults aren't very comfortable, with shooting on R and roll on L. I changed those to ZR/ZL and its much nicer.
@pbb76 Already had the pleasure of finding out, but big thanks for getting back to me. TBH this was a major issue for me in the PS4 version, it never felt right having to use both sticks.
Ive mapped blanks to B, interact to A, Fire to ZL (so clicking fire doesnt affect aim on right stick) and dodgeroll to ZR.
Its a weird setup I know but feels so much more accurate. So happy to finally have this on the switch. Dont remember the tutorial giving 20 tokens on PS4 so a nice welcome back present!

Man this game is great, love it. It's really tough going though. I've made it to the boss of the 2nd floor and got annihilated. I faced the Ammoconda. I had a brilliant weapon and some really good gear. I was confident I could take it but nope.
Anyone have any tips for making it deeper into the Gungeon?
@OorWullie Been playing ever since release and I just beat the game for the first time yesterday.
For tips i would say master the dodge roll and use blanks whenever you can, they refill every chamber. Also focus on your character and the bullets around you rather than on the enemies.
@lansyer Cheers. I'm impressed that you beat the game, I doubt I'll ever achieve that. Now that you've beaten it do you have any motivation to keep playing it? What's your favourite character?
@OorWullie there's still a TON to explore and unlock so I'll be definitively playing this again and again! So far I've only found one secret chamber and there's like 6 of them? Also after you beat the game you'll be able to play in challenge mode which makes the rooms harder to clear.
I've been playing with the Marine because he has better accuracy and you get armor at start. I think he's the best for long runs. Will go for the other characters soon though!
Just got the game and I’m a bit confused..
When I started playing game moving around with left stick didn’t change aiming directions for guns but now when I move around it changes directions as I move. Is it some kind of bug or did I get some kind of upgrade I’m not aware of or what? I reseted all settings and nothing change.
Any captain here to help me?
@Spanjard
Pro Controller all the time.
Man I suck at this game. Can’t pass first cellar and the boss. And that “new” control scheme doesn’t help ether..
@CroRock
As far as I remember, you shoot towards the direction you run. You have to use the right stick to actually shoot independently of the way you move. Not sure if I understand you correctly, but I hope you figure it out.
It is quite a difficult game. And it’s never exactly the same when you start over so you really just have to play a lot and get better. Use those “blanks” or something (they remove all bullets of the screen) and learn the timing for dodging.
@Spanjard
Well I deleted a game and save file, then redownload again. Now it works like the first time I started a game and that means - when you move around with left stick, position (or aiming direction if you will) of your weapon is fixed. To change directions I need to move right stick. When I, for example, point gun to right direction and put my finger off the right stick, direction stay fixed no matter of moving around with left stick.
I hope I explained it well to understand
Now I’m not sure is it a bug when you first install game or does it have something with pro controller or what.
What is default scheme and how does it play with one joycon? I think my controle scheme changed when I accidentally press to play co op mode and set just pro controller. After that I couldn’t go in gungeon of course because no second player so I got back in main menu and start a “new game”... but that left me with permanent changed control scheme. It sounds like a bug to me.
