I have big collection of Switch 1 games cartridges, not using them much to be honest so they are just stored. I read on different forum yesterday that someones cartridge from 2017 just stopped working in 2025. Anyone else has cartridge that stopped working?
@slytherin_real All my carts, from switch launch & the first years of the switch still work.
Since switch launch, I generally haven't seen posts in nintendolife forums about failing switch carts, possibly because this demographic of game nerds<3 may take better care of games than casuals & randoms.
The only carts I've seen posted as not-working were on reddit, usually seemed to suffer from exposure to elements/humidity/water which likely had issues with corrosion. And I think it was usually kids leaving their carts in places & situations that adults wouldn't.
If anyone has experienced/seen otherwise, feel free to chime in.
