I'll give Warioworld a try in the next few days. The only thing I remember about it was the spnning piledriver. I probably played it for 20 mins a back when it came out.
I really like NSO GC games, even though theres only a few of them. Im just about to finish Luigi's Mansion and it made me a fan of the franchise. Fighting the last boss atm. And Super Mario Sunshine will be another game that Im gonna play. Its cool to play such a nice little classic game in between while playing something "bigger" (BOTW in my case)

Guys, I just started playing Soul Caliber properly. I didn't quite get it when I first played it for a few minutes on launch as I am not much into fighting games, but gave it another shot. Went with Link as it makes it more familiar to me and went through the Arcade mode. Quite enjoyed that, now going through WEAPON MASTER, which makes it far more engaging than most normal 2d beat em ups not called Smash Bros. It is really well made! I like the story; it has a bit of a Power Stone or Baldur's Gate-like vibe and is cleverly immersive. I like how each stage has a different objective to pass. Anyway, if someone wants to play a match, I know I’d probably lose, but I’d still be up for playing. 😁
All in all, I don't really like one on one standard fighting games, so it must be doing something right!
Oooh, I've just realised that Super Mario Sunshine comes out just in time for my week off, so I think I shall visit Isle Delfino for the week! Perfect summer game.

I remember strongly disliking the game when it came out, but I've come to realize I'm just not that hot on 3D mario in general. I may still try and give it another go.

Yes weapon master is like an RPG/Visual novel-lite, but you can tell they actually put some love and lore into it. God damn I miss it when games were just stuffed with content.
Would you be interested in playing it on NSO multiplayer?

Wait, WHAT!? That sounds amazing! I played SC5 back in college with my roommate, and that garbage soured me on the whole franchise outside of messing around in character creator.

I might be overselling it a tad. It's basically a challenge mode guantlet of fights where you unlock weapons strung together with some light fantasy storytelling. Its presented well but it isn't groundbreaking.
@PsychoIsaac I would be up for that for sure! Though, you will win and it won't be much fun as I am not good at these games! Haha. But I can try. Do I have you on NSO already? If you could remind me of your name if so? Otherwise, code is in the signature. I am UK based. If you see me on and have a few minutes, feel free to send an invite.
For anyone who has beaten Mario Sunshine before, do you know what I am doing wrong? I can't seem to trigger whatever is supposed to happen to advance to the final boss or something. I have got 64 shines in total, which I know is more than enough. I’ve collected the 7th Shine on every level by chasing down Shadow Mario, and even grabbed the 8th on all but one.
Yet...nothing is happening? Is that gated part of the hill supposed to open in the hub world?
@Mana_Knight There's a cutscene with Shadow Mario showing you where to go once you've completed Episode 7 in all the levels so the only thing that comes to mind is that there's a level which you haven't completed Episode 7 on. The levels you should have are Bianco Hills, Ricco Harbor, Gelato Beach, Pinna Park, Sirena Beach, Noki Bay, Pianta Village.
@Mana_Knight It should be glaringly obvious when the final level opens. When you complete every Episode 7, there's a cutscene where Delfino Plaza floods and Shadow Mario removes the gate on the back of the Shine Gate. If you haven't triggered that, the most likely explanation is that you missed a level as Grumblevolcano mentioned. There should be 7 major levels. To expand on Grumblevolcano's help, here is every level and how to access them.
Bianco Hills- M portal from the Pianta statue, this is required so you had to have done this one.
Ricco Harbor- M portal in the boathouse
Gelato Beach- M portal in the lighthouse
Pinna Park- Cannon in the northwest side of town
Sirena Beach- Red pipe with the pineapple wedged in it on the rooftops in the middle of town
Noki Bay- Accessed through the beam of light near the fountain by the docks in the middle of town. Stand in the circular mural and go into first person perspective and look into the sun.
Pianta Village- Red pipe on top of the Shine Gate
You're probably missing Noki Bay and/or Pianta Village, those are fairly obscure.
I have now beaten Mario Sunshine! 72 shines in the end and that is enough for me. Enjoyed it very much. More so than when I had it on Gamecube, as I sold it before I beat it! Think it was too hard for me back then and just was frustrating.
What do people think will come next from the line up? What do we have left? Pokémon Colosseum and.....? Is that the last one that we know of?
I'm not the biggest fan of NSO as a whole. I think NIntendo did a stellar job with their improved/updated CRT filter for NSO NES, SNES & Genesis. But i still can't get over having zero option to manually shrink down and adjust the 4:3 aspect ratio, like you CAN with every single Hamster Arcade Archive release. Instead, NSO's CRT Setting/mode completely floods my 55" 4K TV, and ends up being like a 44" 4:3 screen....It's wayyyy too big. 8-16 bits games look awful on such a large screen. They look best at around 27", or no more than 32". No way to solve this issue unless you're playing NSO on like a 32" 4K monitor, or 42" OLED(LG C6).
And of course, emulation lag combined with 4K TV lag will hit you with at least 27ms(10ms from your TV and at least 16-17ms, most likely more coming from the emulation itself), comined with wireless controller lag. So again, games won't feel as instantaneous, responsive or feather light as they do on a CRT with the original Software(or with Everdrives or a MiSter).
I still have all of my NSO icons on my NS1's retro folder. They're neat to have, and i do like re-subcribing every now and then solely for GB & GBA NSO, and playing them in handheld mode on NS1 OLED. As long as I have Killswitch D-Brand handles & a D-pad mod ready to go.
A brand new great alternative to the JCN2's that just came out would be the Hyperion3 Ultra's
The only caveat would be that it's HD Rumble 2 is just a little less defined than Nintendo's official HR2, but it excells in every other department and is the go-to JCN2 replacement.
Can't speak for NSO GameCube, but I'll admit I wouldn't mind having a brand new NSO GCN indigo controller, even if it just dissovled into being shelf decor, which is most likely the case haha. I really want the NSO Virtual Boy Shell as well. Gaining exclusive access to Zero Racers & D-Hopper and all of those awesome alternative color filters(Super GameBoy & Green/Black looks pretty awesome) is super enticing!

I am not someone who is too susceptable to noticing input latency, but the lag on the Gamecube library is really noticeable on NSO. I find it borderline unplayable depending on the game.
I still play my original Gamecube which unfortunately I don't have hooked up to a CRT anymore, but even that hooked up to a modern tv using the digital out port via an HDMI adapter produces far less noticeable lag and is much more enjoyable to play.
@Reprise
So I've heard. 17ms+ for a GCN emulation, 10ms of lag from a modern 4K TV @60fps, and a i hear NSO Controllers have a whopping 16ms of lag....That's at least, 43ms total best case scenario. LOL Or you can fall back to the NS2 Pro controller(Wired) to shave down nearly half the amount of lag vs that NSO GameCube controller, but in the end it's still too high, vs playing on an actual GameCube, Carby HDMI adapter, wired original controller with the Original GameCube discs, on the same 4K TV, which in the end will only give you 10ms of lag by comparison. on a CRT? Zero.
The Wii Virtual Console was the best, simply because the Wii was technically an SD console, and it looked best overall on Sony's final lineup of big WEGA Triniron CRT's back in the mid 2000's. You only had to deal With emulation latency and a tiny bit from the WIi remote(Or when paired with a Classic or Classic Pro controller) It made the VC that much more enjoyable.
You'd get an authentic CRT look(No fake CRT filters needed obviously), perfect blur-free CRT motion clarity, zero lag from the CRT itself, and a 32" FullScreen is a much better size for 8-16 bits titles than it being blown up to 44" and more on 55 & 65" 4K TV's. And I'd say 32" is the perfect size for the 6th generation of consoles, be it Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 & XBOX. a 27" CRT for those consoles only doesn't cut the mega man mustard. yet I'd go 27" all the way for everything prior to that, basically NES to N64.
Which GCN HDMI adapter to you have btw? MyLifeInGaming highly recommends the Carby adapter, which introduces zero lag and produces a fantastic image.
I re-bought an Indigo GCN last year or so. And yikes, the purple finish is definitely not what it use to be!
The exterior top piece has a darker shade of purple now than the rest of the console. I still need a memory card, power cable and that Carby HDMI adapter, along with a set of Component cables for my CRT.
I just hate the idea of buying old OEM GCN Controllers. If only Nintendo re-released brand new wired NES, SNES, N64 & GCN(Indigo, Platinum, Spice & Emerald) controllers for their original consoles. Thankfully you can still easily buy brand new/sealed Wii Remotes(And WR plus), along with Nunchucks and Classic Controller or Classic Controller Pro's off eBay at reasonable prices.
