@AJWolfTill
Guessing anniversaries shouldn't be an issue in general, if not for that then this entire guessing game would be pointless chaos. Guessing first anniversaries, on the other hand, is easy point fodder. Like, I can tell you right now that we'll almost certainly be getting Metroid Prime 4 on the first week of December. It's a predictable and boring guess.
@AJWolfTill i was already implying overthrowing you >:3
but i would say these kinda rules are always gonna be slippery slopes because it relies mostly on the judgement of the scorer, so inconsistency remains a problem. we don't have absolutes for "easy" guesses and trying to have them can result in the problems already mentioned. not sure if it's worth it.
Maybe agreed upon obvious guesses should just be worth half a point. That way, you're still given credit for correct guesses (after all, it's not like every obvious drop makes it looks at lack of Legends Z-A on the app) while also not devaluing the much more skillful 'random bs' guesses.

(if it wasn't clear, having us decide first avoids people being able to unfairly affect if others get points, as well as making it fair less susceptible to one person's judgement)
For this week it would be silly not to guess Luigi's Mansion 2 and Luigi's Mansion 3, so I'll go with those alongside a random pick: Kirby's Return to Dreamland.
I think we just need a rule where if more than [4?] people get it right one week the point gets voided for lack of chaos.
Just had an idea that builds on this - how about a rule where a correct guess only counts if less than 50% of voters go for it? That could somewhat avoid the meta-war problems that Rowlet and I pointed out. Obviously the rule would only come into effect if enough people vote in the first place, like 8+ in a given week - you wouldn't want to disqualify two correct guesses when only three people voted in the first place! (Pretty sure this scenario actually happened recently with Majora's Mask, lol.)
wouldn't that still have the meta-war problems, it would just be less likely for it to happen? like, i know realistically noone's really gonna do that, but i wanna make sure we pick a rule that actually ensures it can't happen, which is why i think rowlet's rule might work better
I decided to try listening to a playlist of Xenoblade music on YouTube as I studied this evening, and yup, I can confirm that the music is really good. Real shame that it'll probably never be added to the app; these would make fine additions to my collection. Hopefully, something can be worked out to get Genesis music on the app when that game comes out.

@UpsideDownRowlet hey look, it's xenoblade, one of those game series i keep telling myself i'll get into but can never play more than a couple of hours of 1 every other month!
I'm not doing half points except on special one off occasions. Right now the two instanced we have are negative tie breakers.
When we reach the squiddu spreadsheets on demand era you can adjust things to taste with democratic support. I'm happy with a hand wavy majority votes means no points if people prefer that to a set number. I think it will be pretty organic anyway, the number of times I would have thrown out the vote are probably only about 4 or 5 times.
The music of Xenoblade is the reason I keep investing my time into that series. It's such a joy to just explore and ramble about with those majestic melodies. I used to have the first soundtrack on my 3ds music app and listen all the time.
