Topic: The Return of Killer Instinct

I would love to see this game brought back to life , I feel with the Wii U and 3DS this would be the perfect time for Nintendo to do so. How many others agree that Killer Instinct needs brought back from the dead ?

Doesn't rare own the rights to killer instinct though?

Yeah as much as I would like to see this happen. I do believe we don't have this banjo kazzoie goldeneye and perfect dark because of this!

Yep Rare does indeed own the rights to Killer Instinct so if we do see one it will be on the Xbox 360 or the next gen Xbox.

Now the 3DS is possible since Microsoft doesnt have a handheld system so that wouldnt be a conflict of interest.

windows phone 7. why release a 3ds game where you can make one for.windows phone that can interact with xbox and windows 8.

The Killer Instinct titles haven't aged well so it would take a massive overhaul to get me interested.

The SNES Killer Instinct is one of my favorite games of all-time, I would love to see KI3 on Wii U. However, it seems that yes, Rare has the rights, so if it were ever to happen it would be on Xbox. I remember reading an interview a year or so ago with one of the main Rare guys and when asked, he said that it could be a possibility, but they had no plans at the moment.

You know what, I know as a Nintendo fan I'm supposed to say that "Rare aren't the company they were" and "Nintendo was right to get rid of them", etc. But I do miss them and still don't really get why Nintendo sold them. They didn't need the money. If they're "not the company they were" then surely with Nintendo's guidance they could be and even then, are they really not as good? Generally their post-Nintendo output seems to have actually been pretty well-received critically. The Wii needed more games and the likes of Perfect Dark, Kameo, Killer Instinct, Banjo-Kazooie, etc. would have been a godsend for the Wii (more than the 360).

for most people it is. seeing as how games in the kinectamles and touly soldiers series aren't on 3ds is rather telling.

Rare is too busy shamelessly ripping off Wii Sports and being dead to everyone (the people who care about Kinect Sports are people who don't care about what company develops what games meethinks).

Ever since Rare cancelled Perfect Dark 2 for Kinect Sports I haven't felt the same about them.

i like kinect sports and i sure as hell know my stuff. shouldn't only matter how fun a game is.

it would be good if nintendo bought the rights to that game. add more characters, moves, combos, different modes, change the character designs slightly and give it better graphics.

Nintendo likely wouldn't buy the rights even if they could. They clearly had no interest in the franchise back when Rare was with them and I doubt anything has changed.

I didn't literally mean every single person but you know what I mean. I don't think the target audience of Kinect Sports is the type whose gaming decisions are effected by the current quality of games from the developer who makes the game. (but I like the idea of a 35 year old mom just looking dissappointed at the Rare logo and then ranting about the state of gaming to the employees at Gamestop. That would be pretty amazing)

Everytime I play Kinect, it's so laggy. I prefer a real controller like PS Move and Wii Remote.
