Oh, no. Jaxon was a real positive force on here. When he loved a game, he really loved it, and would tell you why. His joy was a bit infectious even if I had no interest in the game. I just liked reading that he liked it so much. That is far too young.

Indeed. Dude was a whirlwind of Switch hype. His Switch user profile activity log tended to be full of 'Played for a little while' 'cos he would just jump on every new release, and boy did he love Monster Hunter and Fire Emblem. RIP Jax.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

It kinda makes me wonder if he knew. The last few posts he made were about how he was going digital because the main thought was what was going to happen to a phyiscal collection when he isnt around.

@Tasuki I don't want to speculate, but many of his last posts were still looking forward to upcoming releases. Sometimes we just lose people far too soon, without warning.
Condolences to those here that have chatted with him
Decided to check the forums today on a whim, did not expect to see something like this. I swear when I first read it, my gut felt like it got jabbed a little bit. Jaxon was a nice guy, and I'll miss him for sure. However, as a Christian myself, I also believe that he is in a better place now.
R.I.P. Jaxon, and my condolences and prayers go to your family too 🙏.

Temporarily breaking my forum silence to report that I too have unfortunately heard about JaxonH's passing from a former NL user I'm in regular contact with. I wondered awhile back why I hadn't seen anything from him in a bit. Now I know. We didn't converse a ton, but I always remember him being so passionate about his favorite game series - and the Switch especially.

Couldn't have said this better myself. He convinced me to try out Monster Hunter Rise. While I eventually learned the franchise's grinding isn't for me, I still enjoyed the game.
My condolences to his friends and family. He will be very much missed.
@Tasuki I am sorry to see you go, but as others have said it is your decision. Do what you need to help keep your peace and sanity in check. It's been some time since I've been part of a DnD game - life happened, so our group hasn't met in a couple years now - but I enjoyed our previous discussions and campaign updates. I also enjoy reading your WoW updates in the WGAYPTW Saturday articles on the main site. I haven't played in many years since I swore off MMOs, but I still occasionally miss the world of Azeroth.
While I pulled back from the forums awhile ago to help with my own time management, I've also started posting less on the main site for the most part. Some similar reasons, but I've also slowed down on this site and social media in general to help my own sanity. I don't know what exchanges led to this point for you or the exact context, but I will admit I've seen some comments under articles on the main site that include some...wording...that I don't think would fly in real life exchanges. It's like people try to bait and be incendiary to others. I strive to try and be respectful in my exchanges with others, online or otherwise. As do some others I'm sure. I just wish this was a more universal thing.
NL has definitely changed. The Switch era onward has been a boon on site traffic and some great users showing up, but said traffic is a double-edged sword. I feel things have definitely shifted. I'm a 90s kid, so sometimes I feel stuck between those who were gaming before the NES and conversely those who don't remember an offline world and physical only media.
Like many others here, I’m sad to hear about JaxonH’s passing. His posts always had a wonderful enthusiasm to them, and they’ll be missed. My condolences to his friends and family.

@Tyranexx Yeah I will keep an eye out for notifications and I can see who I want to talk to. But reading the articles and forum posts are just a waste of time for me people just want to post to start arguments and what not its not just to converse. I dont need that negativity in my life.
As for D&D I have been luck enough to find a couple of groups to play in. I have one that we meet on Wednesday night and a Daggerheart game on Tuesday night. I am enjoying them both alot maybe I will post them in the D&D thread who knows. As of now I just play I dont DM anymore. As for WoW yeah I recently came back but its classic and I am taking a different approach to it. Not like when I was hard core into it. It was always a pleasure to talk to you.

So sorry to hear about Jaxon's passing. I vividly remember our shared excitement over the release of the Handheld Mode Boost feature of all things, I'm glad he was able to see one of his Switch 2 wishes come to fruition.
What a shock. Hearing Jaxon's passing really but a damper on my day. Can't believe it. I assumed he was just taking another long break and that's he'd come back full swing like he always does. I'll just echo what others have already said. But his passion towards NS/NS2 was an eleven. He had character, spunk, he was a stand out on this site, incredibly intellegent and definitely had a way with words. We had a couple of arguements along the way, but it kind of blew over and we'd back at it again chatting it up and feeding off of what we loved all things Nitnendo, especially when opinions aligned of course.
Ive really missed his passion and enthusiasm. It's funny how just one person in a forum has the capibility and power to make the hobbie itself that much more enjoyable. His passion truly was infectious. Some may view his opinions as being a touch too positive and at times he may of danced around any valid critisim worth noting, but eh, I guess he just wanted to keep a super positive and happy outlook and perspective no matter what, and just let that joy, passion and love for NS1/NS2 ride on.
I think I have an inkling as to what happened. Jaxon opened up a few times about his struggle with addiction. his demons may of gotten the best of him. Truly sad, either way. I hope he's jammin' with the lord and having a blast up above. The forums won't be the same without him. But I also feel the same way about past users like Ryno, WarioWoods, WaltzElf(Even though i couldn't stand the guy. He was like NL's british golden eye villian.lol He was another smarty pants and had a lot of interesting devicive things to say.) and more.
Also, JaxonH will be remembered that much more so, because he actually had his face in his thumbnail, where as about 99% of the rest of us are hiding behing a cartoon avatar. So his presence felt more authentic and real, rather than being another anonymous.
It's wild. Somebody passes away that is pretty well known on this site, at least in the forums. And for some of us, it has that much of an impact, even though there's no real world relationship at play. Johnny Millenium said it best. When somebody passes away that's well known on the internet(Like many YT content creators) you might think about them for a month, but then life eventually goes on. That's just the way it goes. It's extremely important to have faith. Without faith, you've got nothing imo. Hoping JaxonH is in a better place.
@Tasuki Glad to hear (read) you're still gonna be around on a mention basis. I've truly enjoyed conversing with you over time.
I've low-key taken short general site breaks now and then when an exchange or exchanges I did read get to me. Though this can be influenced by the mental state I'm already in at the time.
I'm very glad you're still involved with D&D! Though I completely understand not wanting to DM lol. I'd love to play again, but indirect life changes have affected my weekend time available (Tl;Dr - my niece and nephew), and it's hard to pin me down during my work week.
As for WoW, I've been tempted to try Classic but haven't jumped for it yet. I definitely don't like what modern WoW has become. I last played on weekends during some of Warlords of Draenor, and I didn't really like the alternate history/time stuff going on. And that's before getting into neutered talent trees and mechanic changes that made things very different than during my peak WotLK play period. I do wish I hadn't missed out on Cataclysm at its peak, but I was in college at the time and didn't have the time or spare income to play.
Sad to hear about Jaxon H, always enjoyed the conversations I had with him. He was about as big a Nintendo fan as there is, even during the Wii U/3DS era where I wasn't really gaming on Nintendo home console as much, his positivity towards recently released and upcoming games for that system made me check here from time to time just to read his thoughts. Really enjoyed some of the discussions we had about Switch 1 and 2 games. Last real in-depth one was bout Metroid Prime 4. He seemed to really like it, me not as much, but the conversation, like always, was fun and respectful.
