@WoomyNNYes Indeed I got Splatoon 3 after some good Christmas money, I've had a small lease of life on the Switch, ironically since it's definitely on its way out in the coming months. Love the Switch ecosystem though, even if I liked Splatoon a little less than I imagined. Part of it isn't helped by my broken Pro Controller but it's also hard to control the game with the stick, I vastly prefer that way.
@MarioVillager92 Very welcome, hope it's a good one. ngl I'm very glad I didn't say when it was mine since I just can't handle the attention still, our community loves you and here is the proof.
@MarioVillager92 Heh! NP!
Tbh, I had no way of knowing if it was the day or not. Also was several days late to seeing your comment.
So I guess luck happens. Hope it's a good one!
Have a nice day. Voiceactor: The Pirates! (Sony/Aardman 2012) - The Passion: A Brickfilm (Neema 2019) - The Torchlighters: The Story of John Newton (Vision Video 2022) - [NEW] Minno's Laugh and Grow Bible (Minno - 2024)
@Mariotag I was referring to an actual sequel they were working on called Conker’s Other Bad Day. The story was written and they had gameplay ideas, but canceled before development started. Without discussing spoilers, the game was darker and more linear with its plot, and Conker was supposed to be more aggressive. Shame it never got finished because the cut content was fun to read about.
I heard a lot of the stand names in Part 3 were from tarot cards and not songs and celebrities, so maybe that’s why it had little censoring with the Stand names.
Fantasy is great, and if an anime has mythology or fantasy, I’ll watch it! I’m surprised I didn’t watch more of Hanako-Kun since that’s about spirits and the supernatural and it would be up my alley.
If they want the films to be Avengers-level events they probably will add more characters to the cast and expand it over time. I’d expect a lot given the games have a big cast already, and the characters have potential for more stories and spin-offs, but I’d want there to be a balance and not them pumping out films and shows out yearly.
So Sonic X did kind of have a dark story in some parts? Interesting since I only saw 1-2 episodes and it seemed more upbeat. I think I finished AoStH and Underground completely, as well as Sonic Boom, but I never fully watched X.
I think that it could work and make money to make up for the low Xbox sales at the moment, and given Phil Spencer’s comments and supporting the Switch 2, it makes me curious what games are going multi-plat. I think they’d go for the online multiplayer games since those have a big reach and focus on big player bases.
I appreciate film/show streaming services or apps more (especially YouTube Movies with “free movies with ads”) but some of the content is spread out on other services and some content is missing from licensing. Video game subscriptions are nice, but NSO not having the option to purchase games separately is disappointing. I like NSO, but they could’ve had an option to purchase them like Game Pass.
@Pastellioli Ah. What system would it have been for? Sounds like it'd have been great! Tbh, I was getting on cause I thought you missed my reply. :/
Yeah. Part 3 is tarot cards. Parts 4-8 are like, music based stuff. Idk what part 9 is based off of.
Yeah. Fantasy is great! My big pet peeve with it though is petrify tbh. That never fails to drive me nuts.
Hanako-Kun is definitely a series of the supernatural. Certainly something to watch! I still need to see today's episode...
Yeah, tbh, Idk what an "Avenger level event" would be. But balance is key for sure. Quite the cast of characters. I have to wonder though, who'll they introduce first? Cream? Or Trip?
I still need to watch Boom as well.... Yeah. X had some dark points. The subbed version had Eggman be a sort of parody character, outside the Adventure 1 and 2 arcs. But it could actually get dark. Particularly in season 3. Notably, the series was supposed to end at season 2, but apparently 4kids paid a sum for them to make more. And they did.
Yeah. Definitely hopeful! But it means next to nothing if they can't manage their talents...
Licensing has been a major bane for media since even before streaming. You want Goldeneye? Sorry. How about that one 2000s/2010s anime OVA? Nope. It's a major frustration that absolutely drives ppl to the seven seas. I still need to watch some movies on YT Movies...It reminds me of the glory days when Youtube Shows was a thing. And when Hulu was free.
And tbh, I had no idea Gamepass offered that.
@Mariotag They didn’t specify a system, but most videos and articles say it was being developed for the GameCube and moved to Xbox afterward because of the time the sequel was being developed. It sounded so cool and I wish there was a sequel, but too much time has passed so one isn’t happening. Sorry, I’ve been more inactive on some NL threads but I’ll respond faster!
That makes sense with the censoring coming from them referencing actual songs and celebrities, probably to avoid legal issues or lawsuits. From what I read, Part 9’s stand names mostly come from songs as well.
I’ll always enjoy fantasy, it’s so wondrous and creative! Comedy as well! Supernatural stuff would be up my alley especially since I watched Jujutsu Kaisen and liked the fantasy and supernatural elements in that.
I think when they say “Avengers-level events”, it’s when characters they introduced over time assemble into a team to take on a big threat, and those team-up films generate a ton of hype. I’d assume they’ll introduce the popular and powerful characters first.
Boom was great. It isn’t really strong at action or story, but it had plenty of hilarious jokes and self-aware writing. That’s interesting about X but I didn’t know 4kids had a role in the show getting another season! I don’t hear much about Western studios having a big impact on Japanese shoes when localizing them.
I want them to succeed, but that also includes managing their studios well too since they’re also trying to get better sales games by making their games multi-plat, as well as the way they can handle DRM on the Xbox.
YouTube Movies is great. I watched around 11-12 movies on there for free with ads around October-November, and they have plenty of good stuff; just watched Who Framed Roger Rabbit on there and it was awesome. YouTube Movies has a good mixture of popular and classic movies, including hidden gems and more niche stuff, so I’d recommend using it soon if your in the mood to watch something. They include some TV shows as well, but I haven’t checked the full list, but I briefly saw the OG Ranma 1/2 anime was in the free TV section, so they have some really popular movies and shows there for free.
Yeah, and if you have Game Pass active, I think they give you a small percent off of games included in the Game Pass library if you’re going to buy it, so you get it cheaper. If only NSO did that…
EVERYONE PLEASE GO SUPPORT THIS THING OH MY WORD!!
It is a LEGO Ideas set for GlaDOS from Portal 2. Very well designed, and it's already over the 5K mark, it needs 10K to be officially put in the pool for becoming a set.
@Pastellioli Ahh. Makes sense. If it had come out, I'd have gotten to it eventually. And alright. I'd kinda wondered what was going on.
Yeah, censorship sucks in general, but at times, it's understandable, even decent. Interesting about part 9 though...
Heh. Yup, I do like fantasy like that! Speaking of, have you ever watched an anime called Slayers? It was what I consider my first true anime I finished. Sadly, because licensing, it isn't currently available streaming. It has 5 seasons. The first 3 are 26 episodes each, The Slayers, Slayers Next, Slayers Try. Then years later, they had two 13 episode seasons, Slayers Revolution, and Slayers Revolution-R. There are prequel movies and OVAs too.
Ahh. I see. Makes sense. Only in this case, the movies themselves introduce the characters.
Boom is one I intend to watch eventually. And yeah. 4kids would occasionally do stuff like that. They made an extra arc for the Yugioh Duel Monsters anime as well, titled Capsule Monsters.
Yeah. Xbox needs to step it up! In the era of 360, they were go-to. Now, not so much.
Yup. Gotta watch some movies sometime..
Eh. In my case, that'd be a genuine boon. I can't just endlessly download games, especially on a higher level platform, making the gamepass style service unfeasible for me. But if they offered discounts... Well, I'd already be subbing for online play, so yeah. Sadly, Nintendo despises giving discounts for their games.
