Anyone else hates it when they click a notification, it's not there, and then it's a page or two back because someone either deleted a post or something? Just had to find one of the responses. Today was Global Smurfs Day, so enjoyed watching Smurfs: The Lost Village and playing some Smurfs Kart.
@Sunsy Ah, I see, I thought you said some time ago you don't have a sense of smell. That must have been hard during that time.
Yeah it's a similar situation with me as well, just sticking with PC for games that happen to be available on PlayStation and Xbox. Plus I've seen some PS4 exclusive games get brought over to Steam, and I have Halo on PC. I know that Rare Replay is only on Xbox, and there are the original Xbox and 360 games being brought over to the Xbox One and Series X/S - it's been a long time since I've played stuff like Sonic Unleashed, so maybe I'd get a Series S at some point for those games? I'm not sure though. It's another expense for me, and my backlog is kind of out of control as it is, lol. There's only so many games I can sink my teeth into.
When I was a tot/kid in the 90s, all we had were Nintendo consoles. Super NES, Nintendo 64, and Game Boy Color. Plus the Super Game Boy peripheral for the SNES, if that counts, lol. Game Boy Advance and GameCube as well, but those came out in 2001. The first non-Nintendo console I had was the PlayStation 2, that was a birthday present way back in 2002. I did have the original Xbox and the 360 as well, I played a fair amount of those, but not as much as the others that I've mentioned. As for PC, we had a decent amount of games for our IBM Aptiva way back in the day, (I still remember our first PC!) and we were actually quite huge into The Sims during the early 2000s. I used to play Sonic CD on PC a lot, too. But I wouldn't get back into the PC platform until much, much later.
Yeah that is impressive, didn't know they made GoldenEye for the DS until I looked it up, lol. It's probably different from the N64 one, the cover and title looked different. I've always known of the N64 one, that game was huge back in the day.
That's awesome that a lot of tees nowadays are in adult sizes, yeah. Even if it's stuff like Nintendo games, or even cartoons that were popular in the 90s and 2000s. If you remember the post I did last Christmas, you may recall seeing that I got Mickey Mouse PJs, and they're exactly in my size! That's cool, my brother used to watch Jimmy Neutron as well. He loved watching Fairly Oddparents as well. Speaking of which, I still remember that both those shows had a crossover episode.
Ah ok, gotcha. Some of the Disney VHS tapes we've had, we still have (I still have my childhood copy of 101 Dalmatians somewhere), and we have some Disney movies on DVD/blu-ray, too. That's cool, enjoy Ruby Gillman when you see it. I think the only DreamWorks movie I've seen was Shrek, I've seen it as a kid.
That's good that Episode 2 was an improvement. Yeah that one never came out for the Wii, I do remember that it had 3D graphics for the levels and stuff. Actually, I think it's odd that it never even came out for the Wii U, since that came out the same year as Episode 2. Probably would've played it that way.
I agree with what you've said in your reply to @blindsquarel by the way. It's like folks are implying that only children can enjoy animated movies and shows, or something like that. I'm in my early 30s, and I still love a good Disney movie.
Wouldn't say it was hard, if anything, I don't smell bad smells, lol. The only thing is if something smells bad and needs cleaning, I'll need some assistance to pointing it out so I can clean it.
Yeah, I just feel having a Nintendo system and PC is usually the best combo, at least for me anyway. I play Nintendo games, and I play the others on PC. During the GameCube days, I had games I couldn't play on GameCube on PC, some of which were Xbox or PlayStation 2 ports, like Max Payne, Red Faction, MotoGP, and Star Wars Battlefront. I wish Rare Replay would come out on PC, just to play some of the Rare games.
Cool, as a kid, I had Super NES and Game Gear, my brother had Genesis. We did have our own Game Boys systems. Then my brother got PlayStation and I got the Nintendo 64, with a Dreamcast towards the end of its life (it was discontinued a month after I got it). In terms of computers, we had a Mac Performa, and then switched to a PC. I do remember playing a few games on the Mac too, like the demos to Duke Nukem 3D and Star Wars Dark Forces, and my dad had Star Wars Rebel Assault 2 (I have this thanks to GOG), and I had Toy Story Activity Center.
Yeah. The two GoldenEye games on DS and Wii were closer to Call of Duty than the N64 one. The DS version felt like Call of Duty on DS, I have one of the COD games on DS, they're both very similar. Still had good times with it, and even won a game where I took out a team of two players and won online, lol.
Indeed it is. It's why I also feel like it's better to be a cartoon fan now. If you like cartoons or characters, would you want to live in a time where those shirts were kids only and you couldn't wear them, or live now, where every character has adult options. I do feel if Trolls came out 10, 15, 20 years ago, during the "good old days," I don't think I would have any of the shirts I have now. Yes, I remember, that's really cool you got those Mickey PJs. You are right on that, it was called the Jimmy Timmy Power Hour, there were three of them.
Cool, I think all we have is a sealed up copy of Bambi. I found it after we bought the DVD, and I was like "I'll never open this." Shows its age with the K-Mart tag. O.o Hoping to enjoy it, Ruby GIllman looks like a good movie. Yeah, I saw Shrek when I was younger too, DreamWorks has done a lot of movies since. In addition to Trolls, I also liked their adaptation of Mr. Peabody and Sherman, and been watching their movies more since seeing Trolls.
I was really surprised that Episode 2 never came out on Wii U given the two launched the same year. Actually, Episode 2 ran perfectly on an old laptop I had, and it wasn't even a high-end laptop. I think the Wii U could have ran the game. It was a better game. Will admit, I find Sonic Superstars claim of being the first Sonic co-op game silly as Episode 2, Advance 3, and Sonic 2 and 3 had some form of co-op (in the classics, plugging controller 2 in controlled Tails).
Yeah, it's also why I really dislike the cartoon community on YouTube and Twitter. They take cartoons and animation way too seriously, and they tend to be toxic towards others for liking animated movies that would be seen as a "kid movie," seen it too much with Trolls fans on Twitter (example, insulting fans because they have Trolls Band Together as their most anticipated movie, and not Spider-Verse), but also I do feel Twitter is toxic. I do feel anyone at any age can enjoy animated movies and shows. Honestly, even as an adult, it's my preferred form of entertainment.
@Sunsy I've disabled most news notifications on my phone since those can get quite spammy and drain the battery faster. I usually actively look through it both through my Google news feed and through what I consider neutral (well, mostly) news sources. Such as Reuters and AP News. BBC for some world-related stuff. I'll look at an article or two on other major news sites too sometimes, though I try to go into those with an objective eye. Bias is a touchy subject, especially in today's world....
Didn't know that, I disabled a lot of notifications because I'd figure they would get annoying or be too much. I usually keep notifications on for Discord since I talk to my friends that way, and it's like text messaging. Everything else I keep off because I'd figured it gets annoying or I would be hearing the notification sounds too much thinking it might be a message from someone when it's not.
@Professor_Plumber@blindsquarel I was not allowed to watch Disney channel, I thank my parents for that. I would be a different man if I grew up with that channel.
I grew up with Teletoon Retro... In other words, I grew up with He-Man, Classic Garfield, and other random 80s cartoons.
I did use Disney channel but not for the shows, mainly the movies that would play...
@Owl1
I rewatched Ultimate recently and it surprised me. Way better than people say it is.
@Professor_Plumber
The only shows made for Disney channel or Disney XD that I remember are Ultimate Spider-Man, Henry Danger and Jesse. I don’t know why I remember the last 2, but I do.
