@Sunsy Sorry it's been a while. I just been so busy with all my life stuff. I'm kind of in the same boat when it comes to Paladins. I thought Overwatch looked cool but you have to pay for it. But then I saw that Paladins is similar and free, so I hopped in. It's a great game for sure, but yea, comparisons are definitely there with Overwatch and the like lol. Fun game to play every now and again! Heck yea... we'll race more in the future Btw do you play Pokemon Unite?

@Tyranexx Hey sorry it took me so long to respond. Hope all's been well! Life's been rather hectic for me as of late but that's okay! We were talking a bit about the Layton games last we spoke. Seems like there is a bit to consider when jumping in as a new player. Dang, the fact that the 3DS ones are continuities from the The Last Specter is a bit of a bummer, but still I do wanna snag me the 3DS ones before the shop closes.

@TheJGG Just gave it a listen. Sounds great! I'm guessing there's more to the piece cause you did put that it's in alpha and at the end it does sound like it continues on. Always great hearing your covers man!

@MarioLover92 Ha yea, no worries man XD! Shine Thief is such utter chaos anyway, though it's always looks funny to see everyone rush the one guy with the shine lmao.

@Sunsy Ah yeah I forgot it was part of NSO as well. Then again, I didn't play the NES app nearly as much as the SNES one. I kinda wanna try out a few of the NES games on there, actually!

I played the PS3 version after that console was lent to me, and it's a solid version of the game. I think it's a straight port of the arcade version with widescreen. I think I saw that Nicktoons racing game on a few occasions too.

Ok cool, thanks for the explanation! I do have a thumb drive, though I used that for stuff like college assignments. Perhaps it would have enough space for some game backups.

@tekoii Yeah, I'm somewhat like that too. I try to be observant while I'm keeping an eye on the shine, and I like to keep a mushroom on hand if possible. Still really tough to get the shine for myself though!

Loving the new dark theme overall. Is anyone else beta testing this feature?

@MarioLover92 I'm not sure what sort of specs the Layton games require to run on mobile. If your phone is viable, that wouldn't be a terrible option. I don't believe Diabolical Box and Unwound Future on DS are very pricey used, but I know sealed prices are rising. As for Level-5, I found this NL article from 2020 that Level-5 has no plans for future games outside of Japan. That isn't to say that Nintendo won't publish anything, but I think it's less likely that we'll see many (or any) of their titles from now on.

XD To be fair, my mother didn't turn into a pseudo-Samara who crawled out of televisions and jumped through windows, but she knew to keep an eye out for any post-bedtime gaming. Unfortunately, my room was in a loft, so the GBA SP's backlit screen was a double-edged sword; she could see the glow, so I started playing it under my covers...with a little ventilation. It got stuffy in there!

I really like your new profile pic! Definitely a photographic moment with our portly plumber friend!

@Sunsy I hope your Star Wars gaming went well a couple of days ago!

@BruceCM Layton Brothers: Mystery Room is actually a detective-type spinoff that I haven't played yet. Funnily enough, I do have it downloaded! It slipped my mind that Millionaires' Conspiracy has a trial version on mobile. Kinda weird that you can't find Unwound Future; I'm able to locate it on the Google Play Store without any problems.

It's possible Nintendo will publish Level-5 titles outside of Japan, but they clearly aren't in a hurry to do so if that's the case. I'd love to see localizations of Yo-Kai Watch 4 and Megaton Musashi....

@tekoii Hey, no prob, you're allowed to live life! I can definitely relate in the "life is hectic" department lol. Since we last corresponded, I've actually started working my way through Azran Legacy; I'm only about six or so hours in and am enjoying it a lot. It does reference the previous two games in a limited capacity, but it wouldn't really hurt you to jump in with that one either. If you're looking at both 3DS entries, I would play Miracle Mask first; I wouldn't call Last Specter/Spectre's Call a miss at all, but you aren't missing too much context by skipping it.

Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)

@Tyranexx
Well, for Level-5 games on modern consoles, i'm ready to play Yokai Watch Jam PS4 and other Japanese exclusive Yokai Watch games on 3DS (Sangokushi, Busters 2, Sushi & Sukiyaki) even with Japanese language as I could play Yokai Watch 3 Tempura with Japanese language so I think I can play Yokai Watch Jam and other Yokai Watch games on Japanese 3DS.
I still thinking twice for Yokai Watch 4++ as in Yokai Watch 4, there was No Evolution and Fusion so a lot of old Yokai from previous series didn't present especially Merican Yokai from Yokai Watch 3 and there are some already Fushioned Yokai but without their original form (Reuknight without Helmsman and Armsman).
I considered Yokai Watch 3 was the best Yokai Watch games on 3DS as it has the most Yokai to get, even total amount of Yokai in Yokai Watch 4 is still lesser than Yokai Watch 4. Yokai Watch 4 have some disturbing Shadow side form that honestly I don't like their scary looking as I still have negative perception with scary looking creatures.

Btw, I really enjoyed Epic Chef game on PS4 as the cooking battle with very calculating points from flavor points (Vigor, Spirit and Sophistication) made me curious to find better combination of ingredients to get very high points on certain flavors and could win the Cooking Battle.
I have reached level 50 in Epic Chef and have discovered a lot of Synergy bonus for certain ingredients so with perfect combination of each ingredients, it will multiply the points with big numbers if you put them in right order (from 1st ingredients until 3rd ingredients, including sauces) and finding the right combination was interesting as I can use that combination for myself to level up Zest (main character in Epic Chef) quickly, usually I depend on High Sophistication level dishes as the easiest to make and find the ingredients.
You better try Epic Chef on Steam as it has the best performance than console version I played (almost no loading time for passing through the gate, more grass detail, 60 fps)

I'm not really interested in the Doctor Strange movie, but I didn't know that interesting nugget about its banning. It isn't the first banned film, and I doubt it'll be the last.

Also, yes, the Fantastic Beasts franchise, outside of the excellent first film, is meant more for diehards than anything else. The lore for Newt Scamander and Porpentina is there; the books cite Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them as an in-universe book along with the magical creatures it profiles, plus I own the companion book that Rowling created for charity (along with Quidditch Through The Ages) back around the time Goblet of Fire hit stores. Plus, Dumbledore and Grindelwald's relationship is a focal point of Deathly Hallows. Though not the romantic nature of it; I believe that was divulged in a later interview. Past that established information, much of what goes on in the FB films is pure invention. The films have given us some fun lore IMO, such as the Obscurus and more Wizarding schools such as Ilvermorny.

Yeah it's a shame that Doctor Strange got banned here. I'm personally not massively losing out, but I know people that aren't happy about it, and naturally my sympathies go to them. Eternals also got banned last year, since one of the Eternals in question, he has a husband. Again, a shame, but it is what it is. At least Sonic 2 wasn't banned, thank god. I dunno what I would have done if I hadn't been able to see it!

Frankly... as much as I love the Harry Potter series I never massively cared for the spin-offs. And believe me, I really love the books. The books were some of my first reading and the movies were simply wonderful. But I suppose I was satisfied with the story that was told in the seven books, and of course there's people out there that aren't.

Apparently there's meant to be three more Fantastic Beasts movies, which reflects how utterly devoid of imagination we are if WB is trying to milk the Wizarding World franchise this badly. It's almost as bad as splitting The Hobbit into three movies when it's a fifth of the length of The Lord of the Rings! But that's just my view.

I remember you use DIscord, by the way. May I send you a friend request?

@tekoii Thanks for the feedback! You'll be happy to know I finished that cover, plus the second part, and I skipped ahead to work on the fourth part. I'll put Act 2 out soon, that'll be exciting. As for Act 5... the biggest challenge will be replicating Kefka's laugh, ironically. I could sample it of course.

@Anti-Matter I played a few PS3 games like Sonic Generations and the HD collections for Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, and Sly Cooper. I used to have Sonic Unleashed as well, but I don't have it now. On a side note, I did try out Uncharted when my brother got into the series, but I didn't really get into it. I got some PS1 games from the PSN shop too. Stuff like Tomba, Klonoa, Mega Man Legends, and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Come to think of it, I should play more of those sometime. I did play a good chunk of MML before I got stuck on that one boss fight.

@Tyranexx Ah, thanks for showing me the article. It's a shame for sure, especially for those who are fans of their games. (I did play one of Level-5's games which was Fantasy Life, it's quite a solid game! I should play more of it.)

Oh, gotcha...I know that feeling very well. I remember the days when my bedtime was 8 PM, and I didn't want to get in trouble for staying up on a school night. My mom and dad especially didn't like me playing M-rated games, though - get this - I kind of got away with it! We had Midway Arcade Treasures 2, which was a compilation of various arcade games (I was huge into retro games when I was a kid), and two of those were Mortal Kombat 2 and 3. I played those while everyone was asleep...and I was absolute trash at them, lol. We had an Xbox demo disc that had the first Halo on it, too. Just like before, I played that when everyone else was sleeping. I did keep the volume down for all three during nighttime, for obvious reasons. Fortunately, I didn't get caught back then!

Thank you! I agree wholeheartedly. Paris Promenade is a fun, picturesque course for sure. Wouldn't mind seeing more Tour courses come to Mario Kart 8, so I can actually play them. lol

So I still get hyped with Epic Chef PS4 as I have reached level 54 for Zest and currently I have mission to hunt the Dragon 🐉 and prepare the ingredients to beat the Festumancers (Exotico and Fantasia), the two wizard chefs with very tough judging taste (Dragon egg, Magical ingredients but No negative points sauces allowed and Vigor point will be minus 8 times for 1st round).
I will try to find the right combination of ingredients to minimize the penalty flavor points and have to prepare the strategy of building the aroma points to determine which dishes will be judged first.

Has anyone listened to The Avalanches? I’ve asked in the music thread but I may as well ask here too. They use mostly samples to make some great music.

I bought a little namco arcade games plug-and-play thingy that looks like a pac-man.

Will I get tons of gameplay out of it? Probably not... But I think it's neat.

Have a nice day. Voiceactor: The Pirates! (Sony/Aardman 2012) - The Passion: A Brickfilm (Neema 2019) - The Torchlighters: The Story of John Newton (Vision Video 2022) - [NEW] Minno's Laugh and Grow Bible (Minno - 2024)

@Eel I've never played the Clock Tower games but I have seen them and they look like the King's Quest games.

But ... wait ... actually it would be really cool if I make the Doom guy tearing the cartridge apart and guts spill from it on the floor! Rip and tear!!!

After I make the Castlevania 1 project I am making this!

I forgot about the rest of the Ninja Turtles and I've put them on hold for now.
