@Vortexeo Thanks! I’ve been doing this for around two years now, but they’ve gotten much better in the last nine months or so. If you like the stuff you’ve heard there’s a Google Drive folder in my forum signature with… upwards of fifty songs! I started out doing just Zelda covers but expanded to Final Fantasy, and Persona, so basically a JRPG lord.
I tend to cover my favourite songs, so the ones I’ve made are my favourite songs. There are some that are simply too good to even disrespect by saying you can cover it, like APOCALYPSIS NOCTIS. That song is so majestic and epic that it blows my socks away every time.
@Sunsy No stress at all, sorry to hear the heat’s getting you down! It’s not that much better here, believe me. Over 40 degrees Celsius (over 105 degrees Fahrenheit) since May!
I’m not a big fan of psychological horror due to graphic violence but there’s some exceptions I can make for sure; A Quiet Place, Doki Doki in future, the first half of “The Silence of the Lambs” (bloody hell that film disturbed me for days)… I’d love to explore visual novels though, so I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks!
They’d better not cast Marsden for the Mario movie, we already have enough skepticism as is!
@TheJGG It's alright, I just have to do my chores early. As a nice benefit, I get to stay in air conditioning for the rest of the day.
Alrighty, just thought I'd suggest it since it is horror themed. I didn't think psychological had to do with violence, I thought it was more with how unsettling reading is, at least in the few visual novels I've played anyway. Again, I don't watch actual horror movies, so don't know if it's different there. You're welcome.
Plot twist: the movie is Marsden trying to figure out what Yoshi is saying.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
@Tyranexx Well… we’re on a site, which needs healthy internet traffic. And to get that traffic you need to attract a large audience. And unfortunately that audience includes trolls, extreme-right folk, and jerks. It’s a necessary process but people’ve learned to deal with it thankfully. Some articles, and videos, have the tendency to be either completely serviceable, or outstanding. I imagine the naming was a conscious choice, and all the writers and mods were bracing themselves for the inevitable. But don’t get me wrong, I’ll write a comment on whatever, but engaging with people who have no interest in talking in a civil manner is not for me.
No pressure indeed! Funnily it gives me time for a breather, and now combined with my busier schedule, gives me focused windows to write! Honestly, unless it’s a remaster or port, I don’t really take to watching extensive gameplay of newer games. I’d assume that excludes core Nintendo franchises, especially Zelda, but I never felt too bothered. I suppose a reason for that is because the person recording gameplay isn’t me. I’d usually think “no, go over there! I just need to see that thing!” and it doesn’t happen. Another exception though would be a sandbox game, to give me inspiration for any potential shenanigans.
Find A Hat in Time physically, if you do want to get it. If I was getting an OLED Switch I wouldn’t be as fussed, but I’m not. I am gonna consider getting the dock though, it looks very good, fits with my PS5, the SNES Mini, and the white cabinet all of them are placed upon. Plus it’ll mean I can have faster internet due to the lack of middle-wires. How about you, are you enticed by the OLED Switch or dock? I’d assume no, but it’s worth asking anyway!
For the Ys games, I’d recommend playing VIII first, even though IX comes out today. If you’re very concerned about getting spoilers online then do the opposite and play IX, but you’ve implied you’re not fazed by that particular hurdle. My reasoning is that you’ve had VIII for longer and therefore deserves to be played more. Since they’re standalone games it’s not a matter of chronology, thank goodness.
If I was to put it into words; Stardew and AC spread their content out differently. Stardew is more repetitive but because time flows much faster, instead of being synced to real world time, content is pumped out at a rate where you can easily notice it after thirty hours. AC is just way too slow, and there’s the issue of missing out on seasonal items and such. The most offensive issue for me though, is the fat that villagers can up and leave if you don’t log in enough. Sometimes life just does it’s thing, why does my game have to suffer for it?
I viewed the FE Wiki when I was playing Three Houses, and the lore’s insane. You know it’s big when you have an entire timeline complete with events that at times seem to have no significance to the game plot whatsoever. But they do. And funnily you can miss pretty much all of the lore that’s not in cutscenes; in fact a massive chunk of it’s in the library, a place I didn’t know existed until my second playthrough. On the last day of the first year in-game I spent half an hour reading lore books. And yeah, I was talking about the Cycle! A bit silly to assume it’s a big secret, but when you beat the Champion’s Ballad quest you get it, and it was so much fun. It’s slower than a horse, and needs constant materials (I found apples work best) for fuel but the sound’s nice and you can ride it almost anywhere you want (except the desert and Death Mountain)!
That scene was weird, and I haven’t even played the game. But nonetheless Jim Carrey seems to have had a small career stall, or at least maintained a relatively low profile until he basically stormed Hollywood all over again with Eggman, who he absolutely nailed. His polite mannerisms and peculiarities, combined with the way he speaks so eloquently with a small hint of absolute unhinged insanity… is something only he could manage. Bruce Almighty had that scene aboard the Maid of the Mist, where he goes from conducting a normal interview to absolutely losing his mind in about thirty seconds. Dumb and Dumber made me laugh… a LOT. Sometimes the humour didn’t agree with me (like Lloyd’s sexually charged daydreams) but them killing a guy with medication, the IOU scene, plus them turning down the busload of models.
Almost all of my own shopping needs are able to be fulfilled at a single shop about two minutes’ walk from where I live. And you don’t like clothes shopping?! That makes the two of us. Sometimes needs must but can’t they leave us alone?! Thing with air-con… I haven’t had it in a very long time. Seven years to be precise. And at this time of the year there’s no question about helping the environment if you keep it off, because it’s literally a health hazard. Plus, without AC one of the standalone kitchens smells like a zoo. Unfortunately I have to go there for baking ingredients, so I make sure to hold my breath!
Pretty much, yeah, Google Maps tracked my holidays. A pretty good key to memory if I’ve ever seen one. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately?) I couldn’t use mobile data whilst we were driven through the mountainous passes so they didn’t get the precise details of how I got somewhere. I swear though, some of the journeys, some only about 60km, took up to six hours. On the bright side I had been really enjoying Dragon Quest XI, so that was a very welcome distraction.
Of course accents are fun! I’ve heard scores of them and I’ve gotten reasonable at imitating them. One of my favourites to speak in is German. When done right German is so eloquent, almost like weaving a fine silk. But I remember not only an F1 driver angrily shouting German a few years back, but also the infamous scene from the movie “Downfall” (2004) where Hitler just loses it with his aides. Also like Welsh accents, it’s very light and airy. In fact, that reminded me of this quick one minute video where a talented fellow (who’s unfortunately since passed) goes through various UK accents. I hope one day I find a video with the US, it’s probably much worse over there. New York’s stuck with me the most, Boston too with the cwoffee… (not a typo!)
I did one, rested the next day, and did one today! Today’s was pretty badly timed because of the Euro 2020 England-Denmark game. But nonetheless it’ll be great. The sandwich was… mwah…. fantastic. The English roast was also very good, even if the photo wasn’t good, I offer my condolences to your eyes!
I made some decent cookies yesterday… and get this… they’re chocolate chocolate chip cookies! What a plot twist! Normal recipe and then just throw in some cocoa powder. Baking is so fun when you experiment beyond what the recipe calls for. Like adding caramel bits to a cookie, and watching it melt in the oven, or adding peanut butter or likewise… Ice cream however is a worldwide delicacy. I’m pretty sure the two ice cream places are the same, I likely got the spelling wrong. My favourites are Magnum ice creams though. Such a divine taste!
@Vortexeo I'm never done! I finished a chapter, and if I have time I'll revisit and expand it. I've tried it before so it's more a case of redoing it and making it better. Summer projects offer deep chances to explore creativity and I'm happy with the chapter I have so far!
Look I just want to ask this, and what i'm about to say is my own opinion.
Now it might just be me, but Overall I like the smash community, there nice people, They will teach you to play the game if you ask, and even spare with you to see were your skill it at. But there is this whole other side, and it happens whenever there is a character that this side just don't like, they trash on anyone who playe's them. Kinda like sonic right? they just hated sonic bc of his play style but the issue is that they were pushing out anyone who played him,
And this is not to say there are some characters that you can see that was busted from a mile away, Meta knight, Fox Melee, bayonetta, And are so called "Bayonetta" of smash U is pyra&mythra, I'm not a smash expert but i'm pretty sure pyra isn't over here not letting you land a single hit the whole match, and i'm pretty sure she is beatable as long as you learn what she is going to do.
Now this is not me saying get gud, Not at all, all i'm saying is I Just don't think she is anywere near the level of bayo, I think pikachu is worse to tell you the truth. and this is also not to say P&M aren't busted in some way, They can have a nerf here in there but calling here the smash U of Bayonetta? I can't agree with.
Sorry I'm taking so long to make my point. See, I used to main sonic, As I'm sure alot of you know I love the sonic series so I really wanted to learn how play him in this game, But no, when the hate for sonic started up, all I got was hate for playing him, so I dropped him. (I would say more but I don't want to sound like some sort of victim here) But the one thing is, its the characters fault, people play him the way they do bc of how sonic is designed, And he is designed badly in my opinion. (And I know this whole thing with sonic is in the past, but I wanted to talk about it bc its something that did make me stop playing him)
Its like, If I see a pikachu player right? Sure he is op, but I feel like alot of players play him in a crappy way, Now i'm not going to sit here and say all Pikachu main's are toxic when I have never even or ever going to see all pikachu main's.
Same thing with is kinda happening with Pyra and Mythra, I love playing them but the whole community is saying she is op, and that anyone who plays her is trash, So I'm kinda wondering is it me, o the character that has gotten me my skill, Its why I don't play online anymore but, I wanted to know, do you guys think I should drop her?
And All this is my opinion on the matter and i'm not saying its fact, but this is how I feel, Also i'm not saying the whole community is like this, not at all, Like I said I think there great people, Its this side of it I don't like, and thats what I'm talking about.
And please don't take this as a rant, as its not really that, I'm just talking about how I feel, So please don't get mad at this post, I will deleted if it angers to many people, But uh, if you made it this far thank you for reading.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!
(My friend code is SW-7322-1645-6323, please ask me before you use it)
@BloodNinja Hey so you going full time in the threads now? Thats great Idk if you were before but if you are, Glade to have some more people to talk to/ hear.

OMG the "someday the real Switch Pro will exist" is going to make me move over to Push Square permanently. The verbal insults and attacks on 10 day old comments over there are starting to look more palatable than this
Nintendo fudged it. They had the ball and threw it in their own goal. It's Nintendo. That's what they do! #dealwithit
@Snatcher For your own sake, I'd recommend to ignore the people saying which characters are OP, brain-dead, cheap or whatever reason they say and just play with who you want however you want. From the fighting communities to any other competitive ones, I have always found really sad and pathetic how toxic people can get when it comes to these aspects.
I remember when the Souls community was beginning and people started to make this "moral codes" when it comes to invading and PvP. To me it was hilarious to see how self centered people can be to actually think that they can create universal rules for anyone based in their own standards on people like me who were playing since Demon's Souls was still unknown. Don't get me wrong, I do see some characters and abilities as "cheap" in some games, like some enchantments in Dark Souls like tranquil walk of Peace, but I simply let people play however they want and I don't use it. If I didn't like how someone played I simply avoid that person. Instead, these people send toxic messages and act as if they were on a moral high ground, completely oblivious that their rules are just theirs and that people can play games however they want as long as it's within the game (so hacking and other stuff doesn't enter this category).
If you plan participating on an event or something then yeah, follow whatever rules they have. Otherwise just play the way that it is fun for you.
@Snatcher Thanks Snatcher, it's nice to feel welcome somewhere, for once! It's hostile on the internet!! About your Smash rant, I've never played Smash, but you definitely reminded me of something from Soul Caliber 2. It's a 3D weapon-based fighting game, in case you haven't heard of it. There were two characters that people felt were toxic at the arcade: Kilik and Maxi. One is a staff fighter and the other uses nunchucks. Main reason is because it's REALLY easy to be very spammy with those characters, so sometimes even a good player with a "lower-tier" character like Mitsurugi or Voldo would get beaten and lose their quarters/tokens if a new-comer came and spammed attacks with Kilik or Maxi. I guess it's the equivalent of when someone just spams fireballs with Ryu in Street Fighter (like I do because I'm really bad!) Anyway, because I've never played Smash, I'm assuming you mean it's because Pikachu has some kind of cheese-tactic that new-comers take advantage of, and it's not fun to play against, right?
@Fujimoto-San That's more my fault than yours, I'm too sarcastic for my own good, sometimes!
@NEStalgia Nintendo DID drop the ball with this release. Hopefully they have a more powerful version of the Switch on the horizon. Even a 5-10% increase in power would be welcome. It's really hard going from 3 second load times on my PC to 30-90 second load times on the same game on the Switch. The portability is nice, I guess, but it sure would be nice if the system had a little more juice. The fact that people are insulting you over a criticism towards a corporation says more about the people insulting you than anything else.
@TheJGG Hah, no worries about either image! I would've at least tried it all in any case.
I'm surprised you haven't heard of Marilyn Manson; I thought he had an international following. I've heard some of his stuff and shock rock isn't quite my cup of tea. I do acknowledge he's quite talented. I have come across that quote of his, and IMO that speaks volumes and is fitting for the victims in almost any tragedy.
It's partially due to incidents like Columbine and the Paducah shootings that background checks are more of a thing. Though again, these regulations vary by state and who's enforcing what. As for their mental health.... It's one of those situations where I'd love to know how things tick under the hood. Or maybe not. Something else I'd like to expand upon - the mental health angle. Unfortunately, that also isn't a subject I'm eager to breach in most online environments on a personal level. I will say that I'm interested in getting my hands on the book A Mother's Reckoning: Living in the Aftermath of Tragedy by Sue Klebold, the mother of one of the shooters. I believe it'll offer a unique angle to the tragedy and is also a way for her to try to heal from and process all the events up to and after the shooting.
Apologies as I don't believe I'll get to your meatier post until tomorrow evening. I'm cutting out of work early (spun this post up over a couple work breaks) as I have a ton of yardwork to catch up on. There was a ton of rain last week, so predictably my lawn has exploded in growth.
@Offolsense You're welcome anytime! The forums are usually pretty laid back. Though I will warn you, if you haven't noticed already, that some of the article comment sections have become more toxic lately. It's a double-edged sword that unfortunately comes with more site popularity.
@NintendoByNature I tend to baby my stuff, and my handhelds don't leave the house much unless I'm going on a trip. Barring an unfortunate accident, bad update, or theft, I suspect I'll be using my current V2 unit for some time.
@bimmy-lee Dude, that watermelon picnic table is awesome! It looks good enough to eat! I'm sure the other residents of Chateau Bim like it as well?
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
@Tyranexx As a long time martial artist and American, I can say without hesitation that the gun problem has another major factor: heat. I'll explain. Sometimes, a perfectly rational person will obtain a firearm through legal means, and even own it for years and years without any signs of mental issues. But, people (not just Americans) deal with a lot of pressure, and sometimes, pressure causes people to heat up. When a person is under so much pressure for a very long time, or given an extreme amount of pressure that pushes their limits to the breaking point...they boil over and pop. I've seen perfectly reasonable people completely lose their minds over unusually trivial things, and my theory is that it happens during times of immense pressure. Weirdly, at my work, some of the clients I work for lose their cool when they are hungry. I've even seen people turn to violence over silly things when they are hungry, upset, tired, or hot. So, that's why I say that "heat" is yet another factor to consider during violence, especially situations that lead to gun violence. I'm not sure if that's where you are going with the conversation, but for some reason your comment reminded me of that thought.
@BloodNinja No worries. I know the feeling actually. Most of the time people don't know the difference when I'm being sarcastic or serious. I guess context is everything after all right?
@Snatcher Don't worry about the smash community. I always cared about such things back when I played, but it eventually occurred to me that it really doesn't matter who you pick to play because someone will find a way to complain about your main. I used to main Lucas and I always used to refrain from using PK Fire too much or killing people with PK Freeze. But even when I'd try to not play toxic people still would get mad at me just for using the character lol.
I ended up switching my main to Ken but again, people still would rage about his lack of end lag or how he does too much damage off of one combo.
If you're playing to win, just play optimally and screw what everyone else says. I've seen professional players get bashed because their playstyle is "lame" but at the end of the day if it's working I don't see a reason to stop lol.
@Fujimoto-San Well, and it's extra-difficult to discern across the net, where you simply see emotes and text. Without hearing voice inflections and seeing body language, it's even more difficult to determine a person's motive online! Where is your quote from, in your signature? It sounds familiar but I can't put my finger on it. Sounds like a Buddhist saying.
@BloodNinja Agreed. Discussing something online.. is much more complicated to say the least. It's always best to be clear and to post things in a manner that can't be misunderstood for those reasons alone. I wonder how communication(s) will change in future years..
It's one of the many sayings of Miyamoto Musashi. He was prominent samurai from Japan as well as the writer of The Book of Five Rings.
