Sit back and enjoy the ride people. Be glad we'll finally get a well-constructed story in a Star Wars film.
A couple of comments:
When I first saw the sweaty stormtrooper I thought this was a Key and Peele parody. Anyway, people wonder what's going on there, and I have to assume that isn't really a stormtrooper since they are all clones and look alike.
The lightsaber looks rad, I don't care.
The Falcon shot looks rad. Abrams is awesome.
The soccer ball droid actually makes since for desert terrain. Looks rad.
2015? For some reason I thought it wasn't coming until 2016.

With my limited EU knowledge, I think the clones were phased out some time before Episode IV. Something about them being particularly susceptible to sympathizing with rebel causes, and their large "group mentality," meaning that if one guy defected, the whole platoon would. By Episode IV, Stormtroopers were almost entirely conscripts.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
Didn't they say EU isn't canon anymore anyway once Abrams took the job?
Yeah, but I think that's mostly just so they don't have to constrict themselves when making the movies. Nothing would incite nerd rage more than doing something that goes against canon, so they just declared it all non-canon, easy fix.
I usually just stick to an "everything is canon until it isn't" policy in my mind though. The old canon still exists until the movies "overwrite" it.

Things look so worn out and rusted, gritty and old. Love it. That's what I think of when I think of Star Wars. Amazing to think what it will all look like next December. There's still 13 months of post-production with two of the world's best studios to happen.
And besides John Williams' score and some fantastic practical sets in Episode I, I really can't say anything good about the prequels. Hopefully this saga gets back on track after that 7-hour derailing.
Also, you all seem to not like the hilts on the new lightsaber, but how would you feel about a CHAINSAW lightsaber?!
Wouldn't that cut his own hand?

... which is a bunch of microbes, as the prequels put forth.

Midichlorians aren't the force. They allow humans to interact with it. In a sense, they are the interface between the physical and spiritual (which is a real thing studied in the real world).

As always, you and i are on the same page.
Also, RE: Clones/Stormtroopers, the whole deal is that because of the accelerated-aging thing, the majority of the clones have died off by the time of the original trilogy. So during the "dark times", the Empire established academies and began filling the ranks of Stormtroopers with conscripts. This was established in the EU, but even with the EU being de-canonized, this concept has remained (amongst others - while the EU isn't canon any more, LFL peoples have confirmed that they will pick and choose stuffs from the EU ... the whole point of the de-canonization was really so that the franchise wasn't beholden to any EU stuffs) — the recent episode of Rebels confirmed this.
Also, on another note, as @iKahn mentioned, Midichlorians aren't the Force any more than our mitochondria are equal to a person's athletic ability. I honestly never understand why people — who claim to be huge SW fanboys — don't get this.

The good thing about everything rendered non-canon is that I can believe that there was no "Star Wars: The Old Republic". And the prequel "Revan" novel never existed.
The last event in the KOTOR for me was the Jedi Exile setting out alone.
The trailer looks interesting, wondering how much of the EU they incorporate in this. Most likely the Solo sibling trio won't exist and Leia might not be a Jedi.
I wonder if Boba is still alive in this. He survives in the EU after all. Isn't he also a clone? He didn't die of accelerated aging.
Nintendo fan, with a taste for all genres! Monster Hunter for the win!

Eh, the Revan novel was ok, not great. I just liked that The Exile was heavily included, because she's always been a favorite character of mine.
I'm betting that they may include the Solo Twins (and possibly Mara Jade in some capacity) just to appease fans — as well as to incorporate the whole Skywalker-twin thing — or at the very least, Daisy Ridley is probably playing Jaina.
As you know, in the EU, Boba made his way out of the Sarlaac, and i'm betting they'll pick that thread up again in the films, since Boba is so popular. And remember, Boba never went through the accelerated aging process so doesn't have the same issues as the standard clones.
Canon is still a mess anyway with Disney declaring that The Clone Wars is canon. One of the worst and most groan-worthy things to ever happen in Star Wars was Darth Maul surviving being cut in half and falling thousands of feet... because he hates stuff. And that's still canon.

And the introduction of that contrived intermediary, still BIOLOGICAL link was necessary or called-for how exactly?
I mean: other than obviously giving some natural science nerds something to nerd out about, as this fosters delusions their own work/hobby was possibly somehow something of similar grandeur? LOL

I didn't like the Revan novel nor the story conclusion given to Revan and the Exile PRECISELY because she's been a favourite character of mine. Good way to deal with a really strong and different character who even Kreia declared stronger than Revan if not as strong. Plus her unique ability. You could say I was really really dissatisfied with how they dealt with stuff just to churn out an MMORPG game.
The Solo siblings was one thing I liked in the expanded universe. And Jaina being trained by Boba and whatnot. Although rumours say that the character being played by Daisy Ridley is named "Kira" or something.
Boba might survive here as well considering he initially came back to his huge popularity just like you said.
I just hope in attempts of establishing their own canon, they don't create a mess of a storyline. The best storylines in Star Wars are found outside the movies so far.

I thought it was a lot better than Attack of the Clones. Attack of the Clones felt, ironically, like a Disney film.
What could feel more Disneyish than the gang's visit to the frickin' bad CGI mermaid kingdom in \"Menace\"?
Yeah. I forgot about the gungans. That was unbelievably bad. I thought all of the jedi stuff and the tatooine parts were ok though. I think my main issue was with Hayden Christmason or whatever his name is. He was just an awful anakin. One of the most daunting villains in the history of cinema turned out to be just a bratty emo kid with a lack of discipline. It was too much!

Because it doesn't make sense without it. The force is something abstract like imagination or faith, but there is still a biological reason it exists. One of Descartes big ideas was that the idea of a soul interfaces with the body via the pineal gland.
Midichlorians are a similar concept.

This so much. Bringing back Darth Maul completely undermines Qui-gon's death and its effect on Obi-wan.
