Topic: Retro Studios gearing up for new game!

From GoNintendo Retro Studios hires Naughty Dog, Vigil Games staffers, working on 'crowning achievement' Jan 10, 2012 by RawmeatCowboy Well, things just got very interesting. Retro Studios has picked up two staffers, one a former Naughty Dog dev and the other a former Vigil Games employee. Eric Kozlowsky is the former Naughty Dog staffer, and he seems super excited for his project. Alas I am going to shelve it for a little while as I am going to work on another project that I am super excited about. I can't talk about it too much but if all goes well it might just be one of my crowning achievements as an artist.... Retro also grabbed devs from Red Fly and Moonbot Studios. Something big must be going on!

I'd really like to see what Retro could do with a new IP, but I trust that whatever they put out, it will be excellent.

From what I heard, Nintendo didn't have much involvement in the process and Microsoft just offered Rare large sums of money and Rare accepted.

Naughty Dog employees. Vigil games? Retro Studios. Nintendo just got a whole lot smarter. Who's up for grown up Ness & Lucas all grown up in a open-world game like Infamous w/ total carnage. Actually, that's a bad idea. Metroid Prime w/ strategy & shooting elements. I'd like it to become more like Halo, retain its originality, and add platforming segments like Prime in between. Online deathmatches w/ voice chat would be amazing. Metroid = future for Nintendo & shooter fans. And platforming fans, since they need open-world exploration and the trek to your fights. How else would you travel? Maybe the ship on occasion. You'd activate the docking bays as you go. See other Metroid ideas here:

I like the first Jak and Daxter. I didn't like its sequels. Crash was really fun as a kid as its sequels went from great to whack. Especially now.

I also really enjoyed Crash Team Racing.

Absolutely not. I love Halo, but that is not what Metroid should become. Metroid is, and always has been, about exploration, not shooting.

Anyways, I pray to the Game Genie that it's F-Zero. That would be so awesome.

Also, back in April last year Retro stated that they were working on "A project everyone wants us to do."
