Hey yo, it's survey time! The question is, when you're not playing one game in particular, what other game do you usually have in your consoles/handhelds? It could be for whatever reason. Because the game came packed in with the system so you feel like it belongs, it's the game you play the most on that system and want to keep it at the ready, it's a favorite game, it's purty (GOLD ZELDAS!!!), or whatever reason. Here's some of mine...
Intellivision: Buzz Bombers
Atari 2600: Yars' Revenge
NES: Super Mario Bros. 3
SNES: Super Mario World
Super Game Boy (yeah, not technically a "system", but still): Donkey Kong '94
N64: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
GameCube: Super Smash Bros. Melee
Game Boy Player (see Super Game Boy above): Final Fantasy V Advance
Wii: New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Game Boy: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
Game Boy Color: Perfect Dark
Game Boy Advance: Metroid Fusion
Nintendo DS: New Super Mario Bros.
Nintendo 3DS: Kid Icarus: Uprising
PlayStation: Street Fighter Collection Vol. 2
PlayStation 2: Final Fantasy X
PlayStation 3: Super Street Fighter IV
PSP: Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection
Xbox 360: Rumble Roses XX
Of course, if you leave your systems empty when you're playing nothing in particular, I guess that's ok too.
Playstation 2 - Silent Hill 3 (when I had my PS2, this game was always in there), and often Siren 2
Gamecube - either Mario Kart Double Dash or Zelda Wind Waker/風のタクト
Wii - Smash Brothers Brawl or Monster Hunter Tri
DS - either Rhythm Tengoku or Advance Wars DS
3DS - Monster Hunter 3G or Fire Emblem Kakusei
Hmm, Super Famicom/SNES - I'd say either Yoshi's Island or Zelda: Link to the Past/ Triforce of the Gods
3DS FC - 1547-6126-3842 Largate de mi casa!!
Mother 3 fan. It's an amazing game. 糸井さん、こんな素敵なゲームを作ってくれてありがとう!
My retro systems I tend to take games out of, however, I have a lost GameBoy Color with Pokemon Gold in it, and my GBAs almost always have LeafGreen in them.
I keep Skylanders in the Wii, just because I play the 3DS more nowadays, and the multiplayer's basically the only one sans Mario my parents understand.
I usually keep Kid Icarus, Pokemon, or Mario Kart in my 3DS but occasionally Skylanders when I feel like leveling.
I generally don't leave games in my systems but the games that I play when I'm not playing anything in particular are:
Wii: Super smash bros. brawl, Mario kart Wii and New super Mario bros. Wii. I wouldn't be surprised if The last story gets added here later as its online is a lot of fun.
3DS: Dead or Alive: Dimensions and Mario kart 7
For "active" consoles (i.e., the ones i presently have hooked up), it's either nothing or whatever game i last played or intend to play next — currently Arkham City for the 360, and nothing in the Wii (it's been all about VC since finishing Skyward Sword).
My 3DS is also usually whatever i'm playing/have played last/intend to play next (currently ResEvil Revelations), but for my other handhelds usually have a set game in them. My PSP has Phantasy Star Portable (which is the only UMD i own; the system was gifted to me second-hand). My Game Boy (original) has Tetris, which never comes out (i consider it my Tetris Machine; i don't use it for anything else anymore), while my Gameboy Micro usually has a ... hmmm ... "magical" cart which plays things via "magic" (and that's all i can say about that cart).
With older/retro consoles and handhelds, since they're packed away in the closet, there's nothing in them.
My VC/WW games for my wii
And DSiWare/VC/3DSWare for my 3DS, yep I can't seem to ever take them out of my system
