This is so weird to me, I bring my 3DS to school every day, and see lots of other 3DS's all the time, it never gets stolen...

you forget it's not everybody that goes to a "college level" arts school like you

What?...it's a fellow Nintendo fan, on a Nintendo site asking for some advice in a General Discussion thread.
I don't understand why you're all belittling this guy, all he's doing is looking for an opinion on which bit of tech he should take. Essentially just a poll.

Maybe it was the school I went to but at my school if it got around that you had a nice Walkman or Game Boy with you kids would literally pay other kids to jump you while they grabbed the device, suffice to say their weren't many two player Tetris or Pokemon duels during recess.

Just something to keep in mind for those privileged enough to be able to pull out an iPad at school and not get it nicked. -_^

it wasn't as bad in the school I was, but if you left something of value out of your sight it'd be messed up by the time you noticed...
or, in the case of smartphones, some idiots would have used it to make an emergency call to the US police(or any other foreign police number)

What's the issue again?

I wonder how much a long distance call from small town USA to the Kremlin costs hehe.

Wow....this sort of thing simply didn't happen at the school I went to.

Though it may have just been the product of living in a small town. Our class sizes were rather small, so everyone knew everyone and was rather tightly knit.

@Mipaol It's actually the teachers plan to tell the students to bring their favorite devices so he himself can jump them.

@Spuratis Ha, I remember when the teachers would just "confiscate" stuff until the end of the year.

@Dreamz the city I live in has a very "diverse" population of around a million people, sometimes I envy people who grew up in small towns, seems like it would be nice living where most everyone knows each other instead of living in a city of hundreds of thousands of strangers who view each other with apathy and indifference.

I had a teacher confiscate something from me and never give it back.. the poor frog tomagotchi died for sure.

I grew up in a small town, graduated with a class of 96 people. It's not that great, though we didn't have a bunch of thieves. Just a lot of... hicks. We weren't diverse in any sense of the word either.

I go to college and take my 3ds for the street pass everyday, and I'll usually get 6-10 a day. At the beginning of this semester I walked into one of my classes and instantly made 4 friends just because they were all playing on their 3ds. We've had a couple of Mario kart races, Pokemon battles, and we're big help to each other on street pass games. Don't worry so much about what other people think, if you take your 3ds you just might make a couple of gaming friends.

Gaming friends kinda scare me. I don't want to be considered a nerd. sigh Time to buy headphones for my 3DS
