Topic: Weird Notifications?

When I opened my 3DS today, I had 3 notifications. There were all basically the same message, but for Nintendo Video, Swapnote, and Pokedex 3D. Anyone else have these?

Seems like a strange time to send them, a couple monthes after they hit the market.

I got them too. Nintendo probably sent the, out hoping to get new 3DS owners who don't have one or any of those to download them.

Next thing you know they'll send a notification about Netflix, lol

It said they would show up on your HOME Menu and then you just had to download it... I don't see the point in it really. I just want the ability to delete notifications...

I received these too, I just assumed someone at Nintendo was playing with the system and accidentally clicked "send".

It's not as weird as the game preview Spotpass messages saying things like

I think it was weirder Nintendo wanted to remind me it was almost mother's day via Swapnote.

Nikki's awesome. Put it's sorta weird how she was advertising Art Academy instead of Colors 3D.

Isn't Art Academy 1st party and Colors isn't? It that is the case then it makes sense...

I thought I was the only one, and that my 3DS was messed up, but now I guess it was some sort of error over at NOA.

I'm pretty sure it was just a notification about them pushing that software to your 3DS. If you had already downloaded the software it was a pointless message, if you hadn't then you'd get an icon on your 3DS pointing you to download it on the eShop. So it wasn't weird or a mistake... it was an advertisement of sorts.

The one about Pokedex made me laugh. I think I completed that last summer. And it's still advertised so heavily in the eShop - why do we need another announcement for it? If they're going to do that, they should at least give us some new content or reason to care.

When I received the gift icon I thought how sweet of Ninty to send me a free GBA title, then pokedex flashed up. Doh!

I got them, I was sorta like, "is my 3DS really that slow?" but yeah, good to see that it wasn't just my 3DS. Weird...
