Finally got a price on this in the NA shop 11.99$

TBH for the amount of content i think its worth full retail price. Not too many eshop games can say that. Cant say im as excited for this as i should be though since there has been so many games to play as of late with many more to come over the course of the rest of the year. Not to mention its competing with the Zelda games for time and popularity!

Yeah, this'll be the first eShop game I get that costs more than $10 (anything more is usually my cut off point).

It'll still have to wait a bit though, as I'm going to be getting THE STARSHIP DAMREY next, and then the Zelda Oracle games take precedence.

Hey guys, apparently The Denpa Men: They Came By Wave gets a discount this week, I guess it's being done to attract more people to the games and that would be an excellent idea considering the game's an eShop esssential.
As for the price set for The Denpa Men 2, I'm fine with it as long as it isn't over $20, I probably said this before, but I checked the eShop not long ago and it retails on the eshop for $17, which is almost the same amount we had to pay for Dillon's Rolling Western, except I didn't buy that game because I didn't think it was worth it, this game however is, in my opinion.

To buy or not to buy tomorrow, that is the question. Far from done with DKCR3D, but the Denpa Men look so cute!

Never thought I'd love the pink/white 3DS XL ♥

I'm going to buy it to support the dev but probably won't get around to playing it any time soon. I also want to beat DKCR3d and other games first! I will at the very least load it up to see how it is first!

They Liked: The cute aesthetic, smart AI, fun side features (fishing, farming, ect), funny story, and classic RPG gameplay.

They Disliked: Terribly implemented difficulty spikes, and reviving Denpa Men is way too tedious an affair considering how often they'll die, made even worse by the fact that there's no way to revive QR Denpa Men at all.

Overall they felt that It might be a good choice for RPG veterans, but the mix of old school difficulty with cutesy visuals feels odd, and makes the game seem unbalanced (feeling that it would have been better to for a completely old school look to go with the difficulty, or an easy difficulty to go with the cutesy look).

Wat? No seriously, what? My denpa men hardly ever died and even if they did, it was easy right off the bat to revive them. Sounds to me that these people don't know an RPG when they see one. I wonder if they knew you could warp your character to any town that you've visited, I know where to go to revive my denpa men, but so far I haven't died.

If it's anything like the first game, I bet you'll start encountering enemies at one point who can do whole-party attacks, and then your Denpa Men will start dropping off after every four encounters. In the first game, Denpa Men didn't die unless you left the dungeon while they were still knocked out; is it the same way for this game?

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

I remember in the first game, that my Denpa Men would have to be around 10 levels higher than the recommended level of a dungeon, to actually get through it.

I think that's more or less what they were referring to. A casual RPG player, lured in by the cute look, would get it assuming it to be an easier RPG, then they get their Denpa Men to level 20, attempt the recommended level 20 dungeon (just an example), and surprisingly get absolutely crushed.

Again, not an issue for RPG veterans (which they mentioned), but it'll throw off more casual players who assumed it to be an entry level RPG (which they shouldn't be faulted for, considering the game's whole aesthetic), and while it's a good game, it's bad that it sends a conflicting message to consumers (the game obviously isn't meant for casual players, so why make it look like so?).

Personally I loved the original, so I'll get this eventually, but I can understand NWR's criticisms.

Yeah, I can totally second that idea, RR529.

I just started up this game half an hour ago and wandered around killing Moldy Puffs. They were too easy, so I went a tiny bit further north and got into battle with a single Zondor. And that Zondor nearly TPK'd me. All I can say is, Dragon Quest called and they want their difficulty back

I'm not sure if I'm the only one but...
I found two pairs of Denpa Men who look exactly the same with the only difference being in height. Seriously, is this a just coincidental or was it made to be like this? o.o

Did you find them both in the same area? It's definitely possible, though I imagine if you found both of them in one location that would be a pretty rare occurrence!
