Topic: Question about 3DS accounts and games (advice for selling)

I am looking to sell my 3DS XL, which has close to £200 worth of games installed on it. If I remove my own personal account information (Nintendo Network ID etc) will the games still be playable to the person I sell them to?

I am looking to get rid of all my 3DS stuff, so don't need to keep the games, but am hoping that I'll get a better price for them than a 'plain' 3DS XL.

Sorry dude.
With your Nintendo Network ID all your games are gone too.
They are connected to the ID.
You could sell it with your Network ID (you might want to change the personal data). This is illegal due to Nintendos policies, but would be the only solution.
If it is connected to another system (Wii U/Wii), it will be hard to sell it at all, since you cannot unconnect them and they would share the same eshop-account then.

Never want to come down, never want to put my feet back down on the ground.

Rubbish! I do have a Wii U with the same Network ID, which I want to keep.

Well, that sucks... (thanks for the help though!)

I accidentally bought a second 3DS because of this.
I bought a used Wii U that was sold together with the 3DS and thought I could just resell it (would have been a steal then), but their Network IDs were connected and the games were half the reason I bought them.
Fortunately the 3DS was an Ambassador Edition one with lots of cool games that aren't available on normal 3DSes, so I wasn't that upset.
Why do you want to sell your 3DS anyway?
With that many games on it, you might regret it. With that many games on it I would assume you loved your 3DS?
Even if you don't use it much at the moment, eventually you may return to it in the future?

Never want to come down, never want to put my feet back down on the ground.

I'm just going through a period of decluttering. I've hardly touched it in several months... maybe I'll return to it. Or maybe I'll just set it up and pass it on to my sons, not that they need any more gadgets...

i did the same thing. i gave my old 3DS XL to my son after I sent it in to be fixed because it had over $400 worth of games. Definitely not worth selling and losing all those games. Plus it was X&Y special edition.

Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury

Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword
