How long before a updated 3DS? - Nintendo 3DS Forum

I received the DS Phat the christmas it was released, and then not to long after that the DS Lite was presented, I did not get the lite, I waited, and then the DSi was released, I pre-ordered and waited in a gamestop until midnight to get my DSi, but to my surprise here comes nintendo with a new DS, the DSi XL, man was I mad, I just bought the DSi and here like every Apple product I own my DSi is the old hardware just after a few months. So my question is how long will Nintendo wait before releasing an updated 3DS, don't get me wrong I love progress but if the pattern for the DS (Big,Little, then Big again or DSPhat, DSLite, DSi, DSi XL) is any indication how long before the 3DS+ or 3DS Obese comes out? Please Nintendo let my hardware be the newest thing for at-least one and a half years! Is it just me or does any body else feel this way??
