Review Astroneer (Switch) - Plenty Of Genial Jank In This Addictive, Scrappy Sandbox
In space, no one can hear you scrap
The story of Astroneer is a remarkable one, and one this reviewer (hello!) has been following since the very beginning. Back in 2015, this charming little teaser trailer was released, showing a spaceman traversing lonely, low-poly alien landscapes. It wasn't fully clear what the game was, but it was instantly...

Starseekers Unite!
We've already had a very brief glimpse of System Era Softworks and Devolver Digital's rather excellent-looking Starseeker Astroneer Expeditions during the Switch 2 Direct six months back, and now the game has gone and got itself a great big 17-minute gameplay reveal, so we can get a proper look at exactly what it entails. You can...

News Astroneer Lands Seasonal Update, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Holiday special
Astroneer, the charming little Minecraft-meets-No Man's Sky sandbox, won us over when it was released back in January of this year and we have been enjoying regular updates ever since. Now the good folk over at System Era Softworks have introduced new festive content in an update titled 'Project C.H.E.E.R'. Aside from the usual bug...
News Astroneer Update Adds Trains, Plus New Narrative Mysteries And Merch
Slightly delayed on Switch
Astroneer's latest update is a doozy, adding everyone's favourite form of transport: The train. If you've played Astroneer, you'll have witnessed first-hand how unreliable cars are (we once spent a stressful hour trying to get a giant rover out of the centre of the planet), but with trains, you'll be able to zip across...

The Astroneer 1.23.132.0 Xenobiology hotfix update was released on all consoles on the 3rd of February, for all consoles except the Switch, which needed a little more work. Now it's live on the Switch, too! Yay! The full patch notes are below, but there's one big update you'll notice immediately: The home...
News Astroneer Partners With ColorWare For Limited-Run Custom Nintendo Switch
It'll take 2 Nanocarbon Alloys to print, though
Astroneer just came out on the Nintendo Switch, and now Nintendo Switch is coming out on the Astroneer. That is to say, there's a new Nintendo Switch in an Astroneer design. Yeah. It's not an official design from Nintendo, like the Diamond and Pearl one that came out last year, but a collaboration...
News Astroneer Is Out On Switch Today, With 'Xenobiology' Update That Adds Space Snails
"Galastropods" can be raised as pets
The lovely space-based sandbox adventure game Astroneer is out today on Nintendo Switch, alongside a new update that — for the first time in the game's six-year history — adds living creatures to the world. (You can read our Astroneer review here, by the way. We really liked it, and not just because of the...
News Astroneer Gets January Release Date, And Finally Adds Cute Animals To The Game
Switch: The Final Frontier
Astroneer is a brilliant little base-building space exploration game with literal hidden depths, as you explore the network of procedurally-generated caves beneath your base, and harvest minerals with your handy terraforming gun. Once you've managed to settle your home planet, it's time to build a rocket and blast off to...
News Space Base-Building Astroneer Is Finally Coming To Switch
Astroneerer than ever
Astroneer is a lot like that Matt Damon movie, The Martian, except instead of Matt Damon, it's you, and instead of potatoes, it's... building a base, exploring the alien wilds, and uncovering long-lost extraterrestrial secrets. It's not really a lot like The Martian, then. Except for being set in space. You'll play as a tiny,...
