With the world in lockdown at present, the Nintendo Switch has become a hot item as people try to find ways of keeping themselves entertained during this period of isolation.

Demand for the system has outstripped supply for the past few weeks, and we've therefore seen crazy lottery systems in Japan and a hike in resell value elsewhere. Even the Switch Lite – which has been easier to find due to the fact that it lacks the ability to connect to the TV – is starting to sell out in some stores.

However, Nintendo wants people to know that the situation is changing. The company has posted a tweet from its Japanese account which assures prospective buyers that more stock is coming, while a Nintendo of America representative has told GamesIndustry.biz that "more systems are on the way. We apologize for any inconvenience."

Have you been looking to pick up a Switch recently? What's the stock situation like where you are in the world? Let us know with a comment.
