Re: Samurai Shodown II

WaddleWave

@Corbie Dillard: Yes, the review nor the sidebar states what kind of control this game support. From the users I can predict it does support Classic Control. Does it support GameCube controls?

Re: Earthworm Jim

WaddleWave

I remember from the PC version that you could use a DOOM cheat and the system will reply:"This is not DOOM.". Other was if you finish the game on the easiest setting, at the end, instead of rolling credits, Jim insults you for playing on the easiest setting and according to him your reward is a rolling huge wall of text on the anatomy of a worm and talked by EarthWorm Jim him self... Not to brag but can anyone confirm if stuff like these are in their console version?

Re: Space Invaders: The Original Game

WaddleWave

Oh yeah... I have SIR(Space Invaders Revolution) too for the DS. The funny thing is I bought it last week at a retailer(they don't pay me for advertisement!) for $7..... Like Adamant states, is worth a look.

Re: Space Invaders: The Original Game

WaddleWave

Taito Legends 2 includes this game. So by now that collection can be bought for $12...do you get my drift? This game alone is fun in multiplayer but playing the same game with just different colors is the same as looking Sin City in color again. You will go "Meh, I knew that was going to happen but it sures looks nice."

Re: Mega Man

WaddleWave

Look what at the top of the box art says:"State-of-the-Art High Resolution Graphics". You don't mess with the blue bomber.

Re: Mega Man 2

WaddleWave

@134.soniczelda dude: Mega Man 1 is the hardest and sometimes unfair. Mega Man 2 is hard but possible you need a veteran player to complete those two. Mega Man 3 is possible for any other player, the difficulty rises but not at a huge pace like the first 2, so yes is easier and better soundtrack. May I suggest you start by killing off either Snake Man and/or Top Man which are the easiest. I find difficult are: Shadow Man (almost unpredictable) and Hard Man which does massive damage if you touch him.

Re: USA VC Releases: Secret of Mana and Street Fighter II Genesis

WaddleWave

"Unless you really like the slightly different control, graphics or music, this is pretty pointless." FINALLY! A reviewer gladly point it out the obvious! The reason is to wait the final version of this kind of game but is like he says:"Unless you really like the slightly different control, graphics or music, this is pretty pointless."

Re: OFLC Update: Mega Man 3

WaddleWave

This is best! You get the MM3 bosses and MM2 bosses plus Wily stages! You will be blasting hours with this title. I say, in gameplay hours to complete the game, this surpasses Mega Man 9, the only thing Mega Man 9 has is the replay.

Re: Mega Man

WaddleWave

The game is Great, awesome level design which keeps popping out in other games, like jumping into a platform where there's a spike mine roaming, and challenging and by that I mean...dont expect a difficulty compare to the first Super Mario Bros. This game is hard, way hard! I have the collection and have played to the death all Megamans, I mean, vs Elecman, you must kill him before he kills you. Megaman 2 is...well...normal compare to this...this is no cake walk. Is like buying LostLevels but $1 cheaper. I recommend reading a guide to weakness and print it before you go off against Elecman, (maybe, you have to match his speed)Bombman and Fireman, dying to restart a whole level is not good for health, you will thank me later. I hope so.

Re: Review: Strong Bad Episode 1 - Homestar Ruiner (WiiWare)

WaddleWave

I dont get the rating, it doesn't explain what's wrong with it, theres no detail what were the flaws, it looks like more of a fanboy review mad for stuff that gave it 7, I highy recommend reading a review else where, If I find a website with detail review I will post it here. Anyone who has played King's Quest, Police Quest("P.quest"), Leisure Suit Larry or any Sierra On-Line series will find a heart in this game. Thanks to TellTales for not putting a Mr.IwillGiveHint to spoil the fun. You need some logic and perception to figure out some puzzles, theres no trial and error. 9/10

Re: Kirby's Dream Land 3

WaddleWave

I dont think Kirby for the DS is worth it... graphics are from the SNES platform and even with the improvements to some graphics, it just wont look like a DS game, paying around around $40 (price for a brand new DS game) just not worth it. Unless they do almost a complete overhaul with Wi-Fi, dont get me wrong, I support the whole VC thing but paying for a game that I could've gotten on the VC for just $8 with no improvement, I aint buying it.

Re: US VC Release - 7th July - King of the Monsters

WaddleWave

Reply @ 49. Mr. Cheez : We need Pocky & Rocky series, KOF '98, DodgeBall, Shock Trooper (PS2 version sucks! keep away from SNK AC Volume 1 for PS2) series, Super Mario PRG, Translated version of Mario Picross, Translated (at least for instructions) version fo Mario Cement Factory for SNES (only released for Japan), etc.

Re: US VC Release - 7th July - King of the Monsters

WaddleWave

Keep away from VC. King of the Monster is not a great, sracth that, is not a good game. The CPU has autofire whe shes pin down, answer quickly (a la MK II, SF II, Tekken, DOA,etc. you get the idea) to inputs and no good soundtrack. Save your money for better things.

Re: US VC Release - May 19th - Sky Kid

WaddleWave

Awful week for me. Not interested in Star Soldier, or critter roundup... nor Skykid... already played that to death in in a Namco collection. I know Nintendo's intention for the wiiware titles is not to be overshadowed by vc's titles but still... awful.

Re: Donkey Kong Jr. Math

WaddleWave

LMAO!! Did you guys saw what does it says at the end of the video!? My sides hurts from laughing! Totally unexpected! I've never got the courage to click the video before...who the heck needs a video of that anyhow!?...Still LMAO!!

Re: Cruis'n USA

WaddleWave

Wow... you know... you can copy paste that whole comment for San Francisco Rush games and the whole game lineup in Midway Arcade Treasures 3... dang... "Arcade"? Offroad Thunder and Hydro Thunder was a frameskip mania in comparison to it's real arcade counter-parts, SF 2049 has a huge problem saving(it may erase your whole M.A.T.3 save) and the only truly arcade there was SF Alcatraz Edition. I recommend Midway to launch California SPEED and/or Cruis'n World...better yet... Nintendo better let EA launch Beetle Adventure Racing.

Re: Toki Tori

WaddleWave

Looks like a good puzzler... I hope it brings a stage editor, maybe is too much to ask for... but really a stage editor would be nice.

Re: Donkey Kong Jr. Math

WaddleWave

@Wolf- There really should be a zero star option...for games this bad!... I mean...head over to Cruis'n USA, the same DAMO gave it... 1 star, a N64 game, dunno if this two games are the same! Maybe you learn to Math in Cruis'n USA and the driving is awful in Jr.MATH.

Re: The Legend of the Mystical Ninja

WaddleWave

@aut0matic-Yeah, the password is a pain. Start from the beginning? There's two kind of stages, the exploring stage(where you start, buy, mini-games and save) and the 2D side scrolling one. To get to the side scrolling is a cake walk from the exploring part. To save, find the password receptionist, tell her to make note of your adventures, it will give you the password screen, exit the game by "Home menu" then clicking "Wii Menu", when you start the rom again, there should be a sentence at the main menu saying "Continue" and it will ask you from where. If you dont exit properly from the game after "making a note of your adventure"(saving),like turning off the Wii, it will not save, this apply to all games.

Re: Baseball Stars 2

WaddleWave

@Roo- Yes, a Snk Arcade Classics will include all the games that are already here for download, except Blue's Journey....cricket. I recommend, for 9 buckazoids to try out one of the games that will come for the collection, since the launch date is at 4/29/08 for most of the stores.
I did download this one and its an arcade fast paced version of baseball, better yet if you have a home theater to crank the volume when he says quote Drake: "..."B-B-B-B-B-B-B-Baseball Staaaars Twoooo!"" unquote. The computer is pretty difficult. Highly recommended.

Re: Cruis'n USA

WaddleWave

I dont want my car to handle like a Grand Turismo game(awful) where you need a real driving wheels and a set of pedal to fully play it.1) Is the framerate that bad, can someone compare it to something that has the same problem of slowness? I really dont care if the graphics are 2D or not, and the handling, 2)isn't it perfect for this game?
@waldojeffershead-I think the only Zelda games that are good and not boring like the one that came for the Wii, are the SNES and the first one for N64 in that order, I always thought that for the Wii they were going to add newstuff and battle system, they just went back to "a link to the past", ugh.
@Lando- Im asking those two question because it's at the top ten most popular and hasn't back down yet.

Re: Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards

WaddleWave

I've been playing the game and it's not that bad nor too easy. The game it's short comparison to the other one released for the VC, the Nintendo Kirby, 4 stages plus including the boss stages thats 5 per world, and the fact that Dazza stated that's "...feel like a chore.", in the first version, it's a pain to find all secret stages for the real ending, in here you must figure out what mix of power you need to get the crystal(some hints are givin, they have a block painted in the colors of the 2 powers you need to break the block), they wont let you see the ending that easy on the first get go. Some stages lets you play as King Dedede or sometimes you go on a wheelcart with Waddle Dee, the powers are great, Refrigerator(Freeze+Spark) throws food as projectile if they dont hit the wall you can eat them, what the geeks call it? is it Doublelightsaber?(Cutter+Spark), Statue(Cutter+Stone) which has about 4 friends you can transform into from Kirby's Adventure 3 two of them being most useful(one can climb walls, other can fly really fast), Homing Missiles(Bomb+Bomb), Snowball(Ice+Ice) which is a slower version of Wheel, etc. Not a bad adventure game.

Re: Puyo Puyo 2: Tsuu

WaddleWave

As a puzzle maniac it dont bother me as much. Like the Street Fighters games, you must wait for the best one to come out. This one introduces the offset rule, you can counter your opponents attacks(the garbage puyo that accumulates), like the review says this one has customizeable options, better music and sounds. More puzzles, like Mario Picross!...And for sidescrolling, where's my Pocky and Rocky(奇々怪界~謎の黒マント, KiKi KaiKai: Nazo no Kuro Manto)?

Re: Puyo Puyo 2: Tsuu

WaddleWave

I wonder how it will look for the release? Would the manual walk you through the various options available? Because its a lot of options.

Re: Final Fantasy CC: The Little King - Media Blowout

WaddleWave

I dont know japanese, but, from what I can see is there's going to be some jobs available like Black Magician, White, and what appears to be..green uniform,,ranger perhaps? So, it's going to be a sim game with battles? How much it going to cost? 1,500 pts.?

Re: Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels

WaddleWave

I downloaded this instead of the first one, didn't feel like playing the same levels again. From the get-go, the game producers, interpreted that you are already familiar with the mechanics of the first Super Mario Bros. It's like playing the levels after the world 8-4 from the original. The game rewards players too, read the review, the easy levels are so easy that you must play it with one life only, so it has as far more levels than the original one.

Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

WaddleWave

Sidestep, Tackle, Intercept, Nudge or Kick it aside and do everything you can to avoid this.(PRO TIP: unite all capital letters, and find out what it spells and add it to"It does ___.".)

Re: The Legend of the Mystical Ninja

WaddleWave

Somethings that make this game unique are: mini-games available(a small version of Gradius is included!), unique songs for every stage, shops, secret entrances, every boss fight is different and unique. Trust us, spending $8 on this is worth the every penny. Since its very japanese gameplay...where's my two Pocky and Rocky SNES games?

Re: Wario's Woods

WaddleWave

Like almost everyone has stated...want some NES games? Animal Crossing has a LOT...even Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Punch-Out!!,etc. Anyway, this game is great puzzler, few games that saves, every 5 stages it creates a checkpoint so any time you may go to the menu and start off any level in intervals of 5 levels.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

WaddleWave

Great solid adventure game! Unlike the Wii zelda game, the songs and gameplay are great and keeps you on a constant stance looking for the next "key" item and will never let you get bored, Wii Twilight Princess makes you want to snore, very boring and makes you lose interest fast unlike Link to the Past, the gameplay and music are always exorbitant, fast and great.

Re: Elevator Action

WaddleWave

Word to the wise, buy Taito Legends 1 and/or 2 if you want the real deal on retro action gaming, since the some of them, the NES version are not good. I haven't tried this on NES but never will. The Taito compilations already has games like this on better looking deal.

Re: Ecco Jr.

WaddleWave

Anyone that is owner of a Sega Classic's Collection know that this game is WAY too easy...is entertaining for kids, unlike a "certain" NES game that teaches math. Simple objectives and no complicated stuff.

Re: Donkey Kong Jr. Math

WaddleWave

Things that are better than $5 on this:
watching paint dry, watching grass grow, watching public broadcast, watching LifeTime network, getting a BA degree, picking up the phone, getting up from your chair, jumping, waving...in fact... a calculator is more fun than that...and it works faster.

Re: Bomberman '93

WaddleWave

I love Bomberman games, proud owner of Atomic Bomberman! Anyway, the multiplayer it's awesome, good thing the A.I. it's not that dumb like the version for Xbox360, in this version the Kick icon, Spooge icon, Enclosement Depth and the fact that there is a LOT of diversity for Diseases(short fuse, short timer, "mute",etc.), makes a great if not, excellent multiplayer game. The single player songs are great but the gameplay can't be said the same, although the boss battles are challenging.

Re: ActRaiser

WaddleWave

It's a great action-sim game. It becomes a challenge, and better, once you finish the game since you will unlock "HARD MODE!". In this mode you only play the side scrolling levels, thats great, you will have all the HP but no MP plus the enemies's attacks hit for 2 hp instead of 1 hp, so careful planning is at stake.

Re: Kirby's Dream Land 3

WaddleWave

Wow! I remember this one. Great game and pretty difficult too, since each level there is a additional task to accomplished(to see the real ending) and you must do it properly with certain abilities that most likely are found in another level. I remember that you could exploit the Gooey's help by replenishing his health constantly with a certain way. Great when fighting tough bosses.

Re: Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine

WaddleWave

Great game and a fast way to lose friends(if they are newbies) quickily when you have mastered the gameplay. Since there is no offset rule, a master 2p match becomes on who gets the garbage drop on first.
A basic tactic is to keep performing medium chains that will distract your opponent until you have him drowned, stalling for huge chains its not safe, not cool to see your prepared chain cover with garbage, unless you are playing fast.
Remember, Puyo Puyo 2 is coming, the first one to introduce the offset rule, when...if it was up to the company that owns it, it would have been released by now, but since Nintendo is controling the dates...you can deal with this for now.

Re: Operation Wolf

WaddleWave

I played this on the Taito Legends collection, same as those times I've played at arcades years ago. Dont know how it would manage for the NES. Great game, hope it would be Zapper compatible, in the arcades it used to be with a Uzi....replace the Zapper with a fake toy Uzi for incredible authenthic experience.

Re: Puyo Puyo 2

WaddleWave

I bought Puyo PoP Fever for the DS recently, very lucky, great puzzle game. Starwolf_UK said that this is the version that has the offset rule, well then, this is the version to buy, forget Mean Bean Machine.
When we used to play, with my brother, Mean Bean Machine (the first time Sonic Mega Collection was launch), we crank up the speed (pressing down all the time or just increasing the speed) and start to make huge chains, we "kill" off each other in the first minute, is like who will draw the shortest straw, since there is no offset rule, it gets bored really quick, finishing the matches by who's garbage gets to fall first, it not entertaining.

Re: US VC Releases - 28th January - 1080 Snowboarding

WaddleWave

Forget 1080. Where's my Pocky and Rocky 1 and 2? To whom I talked to about this? Natsume or Taito?.... By the things are going, I suspect that Nintedo is in no hurry to release these since they cant meet the Wii demands... by this I mean that for every new user(almost everyday) that will get on Wii shop, they will waste almost the same amount of money we did with the other titles availables now. Besides...I want to see the paperworks, when a company wants to launch a title for the Wii console, Nintendo really controls all of this? Dates and everything?

Re: Mario's Super Picross

WaddleWave

This is definitely worth the points. Every Picross game has different puzzles. The language it's not vital for it's addictive gameplay (you won't notice that minutes becomes hours.). Hope this comes to US pretty soon.
