@steizgr8 I hate those arguments. It's an excuse to pirate. If you buy the game and then pirate it if it's eventually delisted then fine. You paid and contributed to the continuation of the series. If I enjoy a game franchise and I want it to continue I pay. It's as simple as that. Taking a blanket pirate stance if you can physically afford to purchase it I just can't agree with.

So many people (on pc) I know in various ways are pirates and almost always try and justify it against the publisher or dev or even country when realistically they pirate near every single game regardless of who made it or where

@steizgr8 I agree that it's every medium but at least for myself personally I do own most of my favourite modern books, films and shows in physical form wherever possible. (Many of them I own digitally for convenience and physical for preference... I know I'm in a privileged minority)

I think the idea of games getting a complete on disc release after their final update would be a fantastic compromise as gaming alone unlike the other mediums simply does not Initially release in its finished form and it's been that way now for YEARS. The consensus to somehow hyper focus on Nintendo for gkc is just a weird one to me.

Especially seeing people somehow thinking mainstream gamers care either way.

People are entitled to have preferences for digital Vs gkc Vs full physical but honestly I think it's silly to think that the small minority (and it is a small minority) of an already minority group (those who want full physical is a minority of those who want any physical) boycotting is having any serious impact.

All the loud protests in every media site do nothing more than make everyone else care less each time. As happens with a lot of protest movements like just stop oil or peta.

The way I see it most games are getting archived in a form online now every time. They get ripped from a cracked system and stored away. Once I've paid for my copy of a game I have no guilt if in 30 years time I need to pirate it. Exactly the same situation I've been in with my oldest physical copies of games going back to the SNES. Physical copies break and need to be replaced.

If I have the choice to enjoy something I like or slowly get more bitter as the industry moves away from what would be my preference I will choose the former. Life's too short to die on a hill like this. If I want to protest something I'll pick something that actually matters for more than just a simple how to play something
