@The_BAAD_Man I cannot believe they ignored Ireland again, just allow us order from ure UK store, for goodness sake they will deliver to Northern Ireland but not the South! Boo Nintendo Booooooooo!
@The_BAAD_Man I know its a nightmare being an Irish pokemon/nintendo fan, don't get too hopeful cuz the nintendo uk twitter is supposed to be nintendo uk and ireland too and Ireland is never considered for comps etc
@CB85 I hope thats the case, because I believe Norway and possibly all of scandinavia never actually had club nintendo even though the games came packaged with the codes there. As long they eventually get the same services as the rest of us its cool but if they never get it that is completely unacceptable these days I feel.
I am shocked Ireland is included in that list of 16 countries, usually we are completely forgotten about. I am frustrated and annoyed though for all the countries left out. Decisions like that create unnecessary bad blood. Real shame they couldnt make it global.
Lol I just checked the first list and Disney is apparently censored? Also feck has now officially been deemed by nintendo to be as bad as the true F word!
@DizziParadise In fairness a rant is when you throw all politeness out the window, and don't listen to reason. If you read the thread you can see I tell the nintendolife staff that its most likely nintendo's oversight. Also your point about the differences between NOA AND NOE is not applicable as they are two different wings of nintendo, nintendo Uk/Ireland is one wing that is meant to govern both regions.
I obviously know complaining about it here is pointless but if at least other frustrated Irish fans read these comments they know they're not alone. I have contacted Nintendo directly and was just bounced about pointlessly between different operators who didn't have a clue what to say or do. I appreciate that @antdickens responded to us politely and speedily, and in the past even added Ireland into a comp similar to this, so if I came across frustrated with him that is unfair to him and the site and I apologize.
Again its not just about a demo, its the last 10+ years of how Ireland is treated by ninty, I agree with you though there's no point beating a dead horse about it on here lol as you say its not Nintendolifes fault. But maybe because ant is asking them questions about it now, maybe Nintendo might start to cop on and stop restricting us from entering these things. Squeaky wheel gets the grease and all that!
@Sligeach Dude drop me ure email address, a friend linked me to a spanish website which is giving away 1000 codes regardless of location, dunno if I can link it here, so gimme ure email and ill email the details to ya. I can confirm it works 100% safely downloading the English demo now, its a temporary solution to a permanent problem
@DizziParadise Dude normally I would say you are completely right, but this is just part of a bigger problem, this is not the first competition Irish people have been excluded from, nor will it be the last. I have turned a blind eye to tonnes of comps like this on nintendolife and on the official nintendo UK/Ireland twitter etc, but I'm fed up with it, as are loads of other Irish nintendo fans. This is an issue that has been going on for years, its not about Bravely Second its the principle of the thing, Nintendo UK/Ireland is meant to represent both nations but doesn't carry its weight when it comes to Ireland and we are frustrated as consumers and fans.
@Sligeach This is the problem when your're a minority, not enough voices to be taken seriously. I contacted the nintendolife staff with that email I received and they told me that nintendo had told them specifically to exclude Ireland, soooooo essentially both are blaming each other for the stipulation. Id laugh if I wasnt so annoyed, Ive seen people online giving away the codes to their favourite streamers and youtubers in an attempt to "be their pals" I would say only about 20% of the lucky folks that won codes in this comp actually gave a crap about the game. Where as hardcore fans like us have to ebeg for codes like tramps. I was kinda done with nintendo the past year or 2, but stuff like this just pushes me further towards Sony. I am a loyal passionate consumer and these antics piss me off, and I react with my money and my voice. I wont be promoting any nintendo stuff to my friends from now on or going out of my way to get anything nintendo offer, Im done till they win back my custom.
Also if nintendolife can block our entry due to location maybe they should have restricted this article/twitter post to be only viewed by UK residents, as it was pointless for the whole world and Ireland to know about this competition.
@Fandabidozi aw thank you so much for the code, unfortunately some lurker nicked it before I could redeem it 😢 Thank you so much anyway you are a true samaritan 😉
@antdickens So I emailed Nintendo UK and Ireland as to why they were limiting this competition to UK only, they told me to contact you guys as you are the third party in charge of this competition. So basically you could let Irish people enter if you wanted to as we are included in the Nintendo UK market!
@Sligeach I know man, plus im gonna be super busy next week, so nows my only chance to actually enjoy the demo, my advice? Reward the companies that actually care about your market, Sony have always had a great presence in Ireland!
@antdickens I know dude, its not ure guys faults but its an oversight on their part. They just don't even realize they are meant to be representing us too, you know how convoluted nintendo are internally. Our euros will be buying Bravely second too, we speak English, Sony and Microsoft really leave nintendo in the dust with Irish customer service, this stuff actually makes me anti-nintendo, and I hate that cuz I luve their games, arrrrgh
@antdickens However the full name for "Nintendo UK" is Nintendo UK and Ireland, (they don't bother even mentioning our nation in their twitter handles etc but they are meant to represent both nations) yet residents of the republic of Ireland are excluded from this comp (yet again). I would love if we had our own NintendoIE but no we get lumped in with you guys and we always get the shaft for these things. Never get any pokemon events here either, no online store. Nintendo make it hard to be a fan of theirs.
